Been using kn filters for 20 years this year.. Always been my first purchase when I get a new vehicle.. I've seen reviews stating they can be bad or not filter as good.. But I haven't seen anything in my oil samples that would suggest excess dirt is getting into the pistons and oil.. And my vehicles have gone 300k miles no issue.. I clean pretty often since I live in dusty west Texas usually twice a year.

I have used K&N filters on my LPG powered Subaru and Mercedes 6 Cylinder engines for over 18 years, they totally kill the stuttering caused by LPG, at traffic lights and give a cleaner burn. Just to calm my nerves, I have always used the foam pre-filters an all vehicles. Just changing the ones on my Viano and S-Class , the Pre- Filters are worth their weight in Gold, after 60,000 miles the filter itself has very little dirt or wear on them. Highly recommend their use. PS, Thanks K&N for totally curing the LPG stutter. I will use nothing else.

No. If you over oil the filter the oil can cover the MAF sensor and throw codes on your dash. Should not oil the inside at all, and only the intake side.
How long after spraying would you recommend to wait before installing back in the vehicle? Also, would you recommend leaving it oil side up or down during that time?
You want to wait until the oil wicks into the material and creates a consistent color across the entire filter (it should be salmon red). The direction you set the filter to wick is not as important... however we recommend placing the oiled side up so that oil does not drip onto the ground and instead absorbs into the filter.
