If you ever wondered what the atmosphere was like at The Den and have never been, this video shoes it in all its glory. I'm a Notts County fan who does about 8 Millwall games a season and this is why I go. There is nowhere else like it. Thanx for the effort you put in Dan, I will introduce myself when I next see you.
I'm a millwall fan from Mansfield people do not realise the buzz millwall have sooo glad my dad took me there for my first games as a child when we lived in bermondsey,nothing else competes with millwall,I go mansfield fc sometimes it's ok when you play the locals like you're self and Chesterfield.every millwall game home and away is special like you say theirs nothing like it
Lovely comments Steven but , as someone who first attended in September 1962 a mere 55 years ago the OLD Den was 10 times better as the standing ( mainly ) crowd were right on top of the pitch and MILLWALL broke the FL Home record with 59 unbeaten games 1964-66....THOSE were the days !
Actually NOT true, Tom. I took a Zimbabwean friend to the game where we beat QPR 3/1 to go top though she did not know what the fuss was about. We , gradually, sank down to around 10th that season after a poor late run when we started to get found out and, without any investment, we went down , unceremoniously, the following season and they were the only 2 seasons out of 135 years that we have been in the top flight...
Last minute of the tape took me back 50+ years to The OLD Den ! Remember one 2 legged night game v Brighton and after losing the 1st Leg Away 4/1 we scored right on half-time and the atmosphere under those lights was sensational. At the end we lost 2/1 making it 6/2 on aggregate and you would have thought WE won !!!
Cant wait , 4 weeks left to the leeds match, Will visit millwall again that match. Best atmosphere ive been to in the UK. Proper club, proper stadium! Grtz from Holland
