Thanks for the video! I hope they are able to retrofit pressure control to the F1 - I think it would help with the excess foam.

The ferm control 2.0 allow more control over the fermentation pressure. I would love for it to fix the foaming issues that plague the FI, but I think the very short serving tube is the biggest factor.

@@BenhamBrewing I am a bit miffed honestly about the pressure control on the F1, and really hoping they have more work planned on how it functions. The iGulu home page used to directly say that the F1 would have full and customizable pressure control for master mode and when brewing. When I checked last week they had removed all mention of it wiping every mention of custom pressure from the page. As you are aware as well since you also have the F1 the actual pressure control is extremely lacking right now. The software needs a ton of work specifically around the pressure. Both the app and the unit itself need to allow you to control the pressure level no matter what mode it is in. At least boosting, since it cant lower the pressure. Right now the only way to control the pressure is to exit out of whatever the machine is doing completely, go into craft mode, open up pressure control, and then inject pressure by holding down the button until you get to a level you want, and even that is wonky as heck, and does not read the pressure right. My pressure right now is 15.3, and if i I go to inject pressure it will SAY its like 26, then if I hold it, I can see it switch to 15.3, and raise up, and as soon as I let go of the button it switches back to like 25-26 again, not showing the actual pressure level. It only shows the current pressure properly when holding down the button to raise the pressure. Then once pressure is raised you have to go back and start whatever you were doing from scratch, since you have to cancel out to even be able to inject pressure. There needs to be a way to inject Co2 pressure no matter what the machine is currently doing. You should also be able to insert a PSI number and the machine should pump it to that level, not this weird hold down the button method that spits out faulty numbers. Really hope they put some work into this, as the software on the F1 is most definitely still at a late Alpha/Early Beta stage with completely broken features.

@@Halaster They have been pushing out regular updates (there was another one that was pushed out today-ish). Most of the brewing I do with it is using the front control panel, and NOT the app (although it is better... still not super usable). I agree, it would be great to specify during fermentation what pressure you want it at. Be it, 15 psi, or 30 psi, etc. Speaking of the c02 pressure, I have the same issue when I manually pressurize the keg. When I press the c02 button, it measures 26, then back down to 15 or show when i let it off. I'm not sure if while its adding pressure from the tank, it throws off the reading, so when you stop filling, that's the actual pressure measurement. I really think that iGulu was trying to make a set it and forget it type of machine, not realizing that we, as brewers, REALLY like to dial things in, and have full control over our brews. I am hopeful that as the machine continues down the dev road, they can fix the software to address these items. Thanks for the comment! Awesome feedback!

@@BenhamBrewing Yep, grabbed the latest update. It actually updated from version 2.5 to... 2.5. They did not actually change the number, so I am not sure what it fixed/changed. I went ahead and put up a video showing the pressure bug, and also made a post on their forums with some detailed feedback specifically around pressure, the current issues with it, and what I would like to see, and linked the video as well so they could see the bug. Not sure how much feedback they are still listening to now versus months ago, as they have mostly become inactive on their own forums and with their focus shifting to the S1 due to the active kickstarter, but hopefully they still look at it. They did reply to another video I put up showing that Kombucha button is broken and said they will be fixing it in a upcoming build. Still love the F1 honestly, especially with it unlocked in master mode, but Usability and flexibility has a long way to go. I am really hoping that since Master Mode is something they will actually be advertising and selling that they will put some more effort into this type of stuff.

Would be interested in the actual power usage differences between the units, based on the different cooling methods.
I keep my cooling mode for the F1 at 35/36 degrees. How much power would the new unit use to take it to that and maintain it at that temperature?
1-2 hours for the F1 to get to that, and then it uses very little power to stay at that temperature. Given the S1 takes 20+ hours to get the same results, is it sucking power the entire time? Does it use the same amount or less power than the standard compressor?
Living in CA power is absolutely insanely expensive with power bills during the summer hitting $1100 this year, every bit counts.

Darn it! I had to ship back the S1 unit (since it was a testing model), and I did not think to test power usage. Since it is Peltier cooling, it is way more efficient at cooling, so even though it is running for longer, its still using less power. Wish i had some numbers for you!

@@BenhamBrewing No worries, thanks for the reply anyways. It was my understanding that Peltier cooling was actually far less efficient than a standard compressor, thought that was a few years ago last I checked, and I only looked at it in regards to coolers specifically. It was why I was interested in how much it might use on a much smaller scale of only chilling a single keg. When you get an S1 in in the future if you have a meter I would definitely be interested.

@@Halaster I should be getting the production S1 later on this year. I'll see if i can compare power usage. Great video idea!

what amount brew will it make ? what 6 glasses? had a fridge type that made more....for less.

This makes 1 gallon of brew. Not a product for everyone (but I have been very surprised by the Kickstarter support as of now, they are at $252k on a goal of $10k). Again, not for everyone, but clearly there are lots of people who are interested. Do you still use the fridge that made more, for less?
