The moment that game devs would realize that there are more game types then match 3 and city management would also be the point where there would be no need for fake ads. Because let's be honest, the only reason game devs still use fake ads is because they know there is 0 things that original in their games, including the fake ads themselves.

The only mobile game I've played where either 1, recommend to me by a friend. 2, I've played a similar version of the game on computer/ familiar with the franchise. Or 3, I watched a UA-camr play the game, got interested in it and played it. I don't think any of the games I play have bad ads that lie about what truly happens but, one of them seams to be more and more of a pay to win type of game now that another company has taken over.

It's already rare that I have not seen any ads related to easily score combos in Match 3 & bubble games. Here's one I still remember "Dragon Strike : Puzzle RPG", you play Match 3 like normal, but it can literally EASILY combo like 6 times to quickly kill the red dragon BEFORE our 5 heroes die. Unrealistic! EDIT : I guessed it wrong, it's actually "Empires & Puzzles : Epic Match 3"
Good question, it's misleading to the consumer. There needs to be some kind of advertising rule over the internet like there is on TV. Though TV advertising isn't perfect but it's less misleading than the Internet ones.
The thing that gets me is the number of these kind of ads that show easily avoidable failure in their fake gameplay. My guess is that it's trying to trigger something that wants to prove they're smart enough. Similarly, the "only 5% of people can solve this" gimmick.
The ads are like "Repair the room? Use the hammer!" or "Run through the hallway of 8 million clichés whilst getting chased" or "99% WON'T REACH PINK $_object_$! HARDER THAN YOU THINK!" (whilst making the worst mistakes possible to #### the "viewers" off) and the actual games are just like "Welcome to *Candy Crush Clone Saga 50 Super Ultra Premium Ultimate Deluxe".* Also, what about an "Is it like the ads?" video on "From Zero To Hero" (or, as I would say: From Zero To Trash)? I've been frequently getting ads about that game on UA-cam with the same ad over and over and over again. And I have high doubts that the game is actually like the ads. And yes, I have the video-IDs of the ads backed up.

The problem with games like this is that their advertised as been something potentially great but once installed are a Candy Crush rip off like that game doesn't have enough of them. Only a small handful of people will install it and keep it, some will install and get rid, most will read the reviews and stay well clear. The developers of these cheap games are too lazy to learn and program in the gameplay that they promise in their ads and they know their Candy Crush ripoff will get next to no downloads if they advertise it as a match 3 game. So they try and pull the wool over everyone's eyes. They might be able to hide behind their bs ads but they can never hide behind honest outside reviews.
