That Musicvox bass is the coolest thing I've ever seen. I honestly thought I was over my G.A.S after I bought a Rickenbacker. But now I want that. It sounds so unique too.
Great demo and presentation. It’s kinda nice to see Both Ampeg and Fender breaking new ground especially since they sound natural for each other. Hopefully they will capture the next generation(s) who will bring them out and make them theirs.
Looks and sounds great. Can't wait to try one out. I've been slowly becoming less and less happy with what my personal favourite amp maker Mark Bass have been making, and wasn't really impressed with anything Ampeg over the last few years. Looking at the option of selling it all and going back to a good old Hartke HA2000 or the like, into a 2x12 or 4x10 for larger shows.... I'm keen to try this out to keep things light weight that we've all become accustomed and spoilt with.
Tried the sgt DI and other than the compression clicking sound happening when engaging, it is great! Can’t wait to hear these amps and cabs in real life!
I need help on the topic of Ampeg's Venture series cab and head compatibility. If I want to pair V7 Venture with VB-410, would that be sufficient? I am asking that because V7 head is 4 Ohm 700 watts, while VB-410 is 8 Ohm 600 watts. Is VB-410 sufficient? I am puzzled, how anyone who is a amateur is able to navigate and make a right decision. Why won't they post a compatibility matrix or something. Why would Ampeg produce within the same series two different ohm settings for their heads and cabs? So V7's 700 watts, become around 350 watts when converted to 8 Ohm? On the internet it states that, this transformation losses power.
Not totally sure, but usually Frank uses licks that he’s using at his academy to teach his students. He writes them specifically for these purposes, but they might take inspiration from here and there
Ok guys. Help me out here. I can decide on the DarkGlass Alpha Omega 900 or the Ampeg venture V12. I like a punchy Geddy, Billy Sheehan, Chris Squire sound. But also a nice clean sound at times. Which out of the 2 is more versatile? I'm too far out of a city centre to ever find one of these to try out. Thanks again and keep up the great videos !
Can someone explain the Watts of this rig, or any Bass rig? The Cab is 250Watts RMS @ 8 Ohms and the Head is 1,200 Watts @ 4 Ohms. Are ye not risking the speaker getting overloaded? OK the head is 1,200 @ 4 Ohms so into the 8 Ohm Cab it'll only have 600 Watts? But that still a bit bigger than the 250W speaker
It is mentioned in the Video that the head is overkill for the cab, but the V7 700 Watts @ 4 Ohms, which he suggests, still seems over the limits of the speaker
The speaker has a higher impedance which makes half the output of the amp disappear. You only get the full power if you connect a 4 ohms cab, or 2 of them with 8 ohms
It sounds completely different, what do you mean? I tried really hard to like the portaflex but it always sounded too thin and quacky, this has way more oomph and better drive.
I just bought a Venture V12. It isn't all that loud for 1200 watt head. It just saw its first gig yesterday. After the setting the gain knob, I had to turn the volume to about 8 to get a decent stage volume. My lower wattage Markbass, Hartke, Gallien Krueger, and SWR heads can eat this thing for breakfast.
I bought my son an Ampeg 100 watt combo. My old Peavey TNT 100 from 40yrs ago crushes it. I was so bummed because the Ampeg looked so cool I had really high hopes for it. It only lasted a few months before it became problematic. I might've just got a lemon. I loved my old SVT when I was still in shape enough to carry it in and out of gigs. ;)
Frank my grandfather was a bald headed barber who was old school about being a gentleman but always wore his hat inside the barber shop. As a young child I hung out in his shop. I was about 7 when I said Pappa you said gentleman don't wear hats indoors. Why do you wear yours in the shop? He replied, Would you trust a bald headed barber?
Ampeg is an ampeg and Yamaha didn't changed the sound.....and the price🙃. No question, that i would think about to get a new product of this line. Saddley there is no real reason for me to get a new amp and cabinets😥
I dunno. I have a Portaflex 800 rig, and I’m not really convinced this is anything new. I also think the head design is kinda ugly. Only positive updates are the couple new cabs (2x12, etc.)
duh, they stuck that Ampeg SGT-DI pedal in front of a power amp. No imagination. I ran mine in front of a GK 1200 amp and side by side compared it to my existing Ampeg pre driving an old school heavy QSC850 power amp. I'm trying to lighten my load at 60 the gear gets heavy. The old Ampeg slays the SGT box. I already have the best compressor, the origin effects so the pedal offers nothing new and has no great effects.I have the pedal, going to sell it. it does not come close to the SVP pre and its tubes. A poor emulation. Notice that he loves every amp he shows us? You cant trust that to make your decision. Some of them are dogs relative to others. You want the best you can afford and this aint it. Its serviceable. So is a 40 year old Peavey TNT150 but I'm not lugging that around either, The Peavey is a lot cheaper and likely to outlast this Vietnamese wonder before something goes up in smoke..if you can find one. I love the information but leave it at that. Frank makes killer faces. He is nailing it and he knows it. Respect! Frank P.S. Buy what you want but buy it gently USED and save a lot of money. Good gear lasts DECADES and you can always trade up later without taking a bath. This is how classic amps became classic. All the others fell apart. Not eeverything that is classic and sought after now was considered good when made. Mid 70s and early 80s strats were considered crap at the time in comparison to others but all is forgiven because youth knows no better and others have tweaked them, broken them in and injected mojo into these instruments improving them dramatically. My guitarists actually sold new strats to buy early Squire Bullets for $89 and gigged with them back in 83 or so..Regardless I LOVE mid 70s JAZZ basses They were an exception.

When I grow up, I want to be Frank.
I don’t think Frank has grown up yet ;).
I second that and I approve of this message 😊
Gotta eat a lot. Can you?
i wasn't sure when yamaha bought ampeg, but i think they've done a great job so far. thanks for the review!
You know it's good when Frank looks like he smelled a real nasty fart.

0:08.
That is a Killer Bassline. Sir Frank we salute you🤘🤘🤘🤘
What a banger of an amp. Once in a mix, nobody could tell this from the real deal.
Bro Frank was laying down the thunder in that first clip! 🤘🏻😎

Love your reviews guys!!! Thank you for the honest review and kind words!!!
What about V12 with a 1/12 and 1/15..thoughts?
Best t-shirt in all human history!

The only thing I wish the Ampeg heads had is more of the 4 band EQ with the low mid and high mid range
This looks really nice and still have the amazing Ampeg sounds, thank you again for having Frank he is such a legend.
Yo, everyone. The greatest bass ever is about to be re-released by Peavey. The CIRRUS!!!!!!
A pbass, an ampeg and your dad in one video, wow!
Tried the sgt DI and other than the compression clicking sound happening when engaging, it is great! Can’t wait to hear these amps and cabs in real life!
Is it more awesome than the Magellan or the ToneHammer?
Its about time! Where was this two years ago when I was looking for an old man friendly cab.

Your dad is my hero! He kills it always !!
Frank is really his dad ?
@@WyattLite-n-innThe answer is in the video...
Some proper bass-face going on there! Good stuff!
Frank's bass face is just spectacular.
so cool you and your dad together
your dad knows how to jam! Great playing!
So they sent a 1200 watt head to use with a 250 watt cab?
0:11 can i steal this riff for my band?
Fuck yes FRANK!!! That opening line was fucking KILLER!
Frank killing it, every time. 😎
Do you feel this offers the same tone quality as SGT-DI?
God I love this channel. Sod the amp, I’m here for that bombastic bass-face
Frank (your dad) is killing it! Lovely amp
I love the bass groove in the first demo. Simple but a fun sounding groove. It’s very familiar. Where’s it from?
Not totally sure, but usually Frank uses licks that he’s using at his academy to teach his students. He writes them specifically for these purposes, but they might take inspiration from here and there

What'd you end up with?
What is your favourite out of Ampeg Venture, Orange Terror Bass and Orange Little Bass Thing?
That 8 string sounded really good.
You guys are great, are you both still working for KAOS?
I want to plug my Gibson L5 jazz box into this.
I have a PB-800 head. It’s awesome and made in 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

@@basstheworldofficial Thanks a million for taking the time to reply. Love the channel!
I've missed Frank's sweet bass face 😅💛
Finally Yamaha took the crappy Portaflex line, renamed it , redesigned the case and put it out. Hopefully with better quality control.
It sounds completely different, what do you mean?
I tried really hard to like the portaflex but it always sounded too thin and quacky, this has way more oomph and better drive.

sounds good 1,200 watts is great but only does 4 ohms min
Cool video, what type of bass is that precision?

I need that shirt…
Will it break as easily as anything Ampeg made the last 30 years?
Yamaha is making these now. They don’t make stuff that breaks.

Frank has the stankiest bass face I've ever seen. I need this power.

Too expensive. V7 with 2x210 is almost 2800€ in europe. That's not really ampeg now is it.
Like frank
This Ampeg looks and sounds as good as that bass player your mom had the hotties for years ago. But no,no, he’s not your dad…
Oddly specific. Lol
Is that your dad?
I’m sure it’s a great amp. But this in no way resembles the tone and quality of the original Ampeg stuff.
😂😂😂
I dont like it. Soon they will produce amps on usb key. can you imagine if something will fall on that amp A JAM
Gregor stop lying we all know that Frank is your father.
