Everything done in the video was done on Private Property with the intent of education.
bro is literally the american fwd takumi. I bet this guy has been delivering uber eats since he was 13
😂😂😂
Shogo head ah lmao
YES. IVE BEEN SAYING THIS SINCE FOREVER. Left foot braking is so important for maintaining grip yet and not experiencing snap oversteer. Edit: The key, the purpose, of left foot braking is to still be on throttle while under braking. I’ve had my personal experiences with village idiots on the canyon who legit let off throttle going through a corner expecting to just magically grip through it. Insane.
Bro braking is for puassays I removed my brakes ENTIRELY
You brake, you lose
Brakes only slow you down...Who wants that :)
@@wiciuwiciu2783 you let off and/or brake hard, you lose** I smoke these dumbasses too ez not even a challenge. Using brakes conservatively is the way, but when things get hairy or if you just want to throw your fwd car through a corner left foot braking is the way. Not to mention left foot braking makes things safe as hell
@@LiftbackLife we had pretty much snow and ice this year.
So now I fully apriciate that technique more than ever!
The point about applying brakes and throttle in a low grip/ice scenario is really important for normal driving.
I live in the PNW, and had to drive my sisters old FWD Sonata through a notorious mountain pass in the aftermath of a snow storm. Even with studded tires, the open front dif was not liking it, and so turning off TCS and ABS while almost riding the brakes made it feel like a breeze.
Modern TCS actually apply the brakes to redirect power in an open-dif too, but it's a reactive computerized process and can't hold up to just learning how to do it yourself (or you could just get an LSD and awd and call it a day, that's what I did lol)
That’s fantastic information 🤯
6th gen?
never understand people who drive with tcs in any scenario it feels so fucking wrong idk why

@@colinlohden9359 uhh - because not everyone wants to reach or be at the limit of any of their tyres riding to work...
I've been using LFB as my daily braking technique for close to a decade in my Prius. I first learned about it from the Shingo episodes from Initial D. But I decided to adopt the technique after reading about it in the "Speed Secrets" book. The secret is that it is simply faster than RFB, and it is why cart drivers keep their LFB techniques to open wheel race cars as they move up the racing ranks.
It took me a few months to get used to LFB. I would compare it to re-learning to drive once again. It takes a while for a new driver to learn to modulate the gas and brake pedals with the right foot without stabbing hard or not pressing hard enough, and the same is true for LFB. But once you develop that left foot sensitivity and muscle control, the world is your oyster.
Awesome man!
Idk why, but plain Jane beater cars will always hold the highest spot of value in my heart. I love a good, durable, tried and true vehicle that has withstood the test of time. Great video!
I feel like that’s super understated. Car bros want high horsepower cars. But I feel like real car guys enjoy taking a car to it’s limits which is a lot easier with beaters. You can push them to the limit and develop better driving techniques.
my poor goddamned 1999 accord wont let me kill it. It'll be at 400k by the end of next year.
FWD is so much fun! I used to race a 1st gen Kia Rio. Rally, rallycross, autocross and ice racing. Was a blast!
The Europeans have known these tricks for a long time.
A very long time😁
Dude! I always appreciate a first gen rio in blue or other nice colors because I know they’re even lighter than my Blue 1st gen Kia forte SX Sedan. 2800 lbs 2.4 i4 168 lb/ft torque 172 horsepower
Good car bro very fun cars to drive
I notice Europeans don't hate on good performing FWD cars like the USA does
I HAVE A KIA RIO RIGHT NOW PLS GIVE ME TIPS ON HOW TO GET SIDEWAYS
This is what a modern Takumi would look and sound like
I wish I was takumi I always wanted an 86😂

that one guy in initial d that drive Honda with his hand taped on steering I bet he is taking note intensively rn😂

It’s crazy that you don’t get teached that in driving school, the reaction time saves lives
Thank you so very much it means so much to me that you even just said that🙏
This is the best technique in general when it comes to sports driving or racing a front wheel drive car. Especially ones with highly tuned engines and large turbo engines that produce peak power in the mid to upper RPM range. Besides being able to control the car when it slides, it also reduces understeer. Drivers back in Group A in the early 80's developed the technique. I used it back when I owned and raced an SRT-4. My Autocross times improved significantly in using left foot braking.
Have a FWD Renault Zoe EV that I always use left-foot braking in. So much fun to drive on curvy B-roads.
Little bit of humor, simple short explanation with various angles showing what's happening, using obtainable gear/entry shitbox.
(I love CRX tho and they're creeping up in prices, but a rusty one is still cheap)
And the location is also very common wherever you may live.
No rare togue canyon drive, no track.
Showing that indeed everyone that really wants to, can learn this.
You don't need a special car or track nearby.
And you don't need special talents perse.
Definitely subscribed.
Great video. always thought the arguments for right foot braking were silly, it makes it near impossible to drift in an auto
Glad you liked it!
Never thought id hear the black keys and suicideboys together in a video 🔥🔥
Great content!!
You're so lucky to own a CRX.....I respect it's power to weight and contribution to the development of My EJ1( double wishbone suspension)
She’s a blessing of a vehicle
great video man!!! i think for future videos you should also have a driver POV cam so we can see how you’re steering and when you’re shifting while driving, it would really give a better perspective on when to brake and throttle and shift.
That would help me a lot to drift my rusty Peugeot 306.
Your content is really great dude, hold on and you will form a cool youtube community
Thank you very much it means a lot and keep having fun in that Peugeot!!
I could do this on my old volvo v40😂 if i buy it back next weekend it's full of dents, not little dents, like sledgehammer dents.. i stripped the interior for maximum weight reduction and the turbo eats oil but it's fun to throw it around narrow back roads. 2.0 turbo gas engine with 163hp that things a beast 😂😂
I actually learned to drive with left on brake, right on gas. Never was told one way or the other, it's just always felt more responsive and comfortable... now you're telling me as a result of that I'm just a bit of practice away from being able to drift? That's cool as hell!
sorta, yeah.
i "learned" (found it more comfortable) to left foot brake when learning to drive, though didn't use it often since automatics are just easy to drive with one foot (and are meant to be, apparently?)
knowing that this is actually a technique that manual drivers were told to shy away from is insane to me. but for drifting, left foot braking is a technique you definitely need to have if you ever plan to get into it.
FWDs can't drift!!!! Yeah tell that to the dude with the clapped out 4WS Honda prelude at the tracks here in Florida
Yeah the dude in the prelude do be gettin clapped 😂

Love the crx however I will say that sliding the rear end is significantly easier in the crx in general. Alot of other civics have more weight in the rear and linger wheel bases. The crx being short and one of the lightest civics makes this super easy!
Fair enough!
5:10 you can get the rear wheels to lock up if you don’t have abs and powering over the front wheels with the throttle that way only the rears lock, and I find its actully a lot easier to control a fwd slide that way rather than murdering the E
This channel only has 2k subs at the time of this posting. I have a feeling there gonna get alot more. Great video.
Thank you!
You got a sub for this shit, also for making me think my Spotify started playing at the start
Finally 16, and our family wagon is FWD. You know what this means!
Some racer once sayed even if you got used to utilize left foot braking, the only place where you will be noticable faster with left foot braking is when you corner without lifting torttle just slight braking..
i'm buying a 98 clio tomorrow and this appears in my feed. i guess i'll have to give it a try
my friends are so dumb for thinking left foot braking is stupid
It is stupid for the most part, most drivers arent car enthusiasts and don't care about drifting or anything fancy. Most people that drive using left foot breaking would panic in most scenarios and stomp both pedals so I would guess for most drivers it would be more dangerous
@@Jacob-rt6on well I mean in that case yes. The reason I use it mainly is to have full control of my car and it makes for smoother acceleration for my passengers too. Also helps me lane change and turn.
Great video brother
Glad you liked it!!
Sick video! Great tutorial and a good vibe. I love my 89 Corolla and thrash it like this too
That was a baller $B transition
the only other soul ive heard play awkward car drive
Indistrial strength handbreak will help as well from the sheer amount of time you will be ripping that shit up when throwing it out. Throttle control is imperitive on fwd and so is accurate traction. Ie tires matter alot and when to power out of slide and when to hold or slow down are the difference between dangerous unmoving understeer, uncontrolled oversteer and nailing a slide
I’m not a drifter by any means but I did drift the shit out of a Honda accord one time that shit was a blast and slid surprisingly well for a fwd
I somehow ended up moving towards left foot braking naturally when first learning to drive. I think it might have something to do with the fact that on a game controller the brake is always on the left trigger, so my brain already associated braking with the left side of my body. Either that or teenage me just wanted to be quirky and unique.
Having a spot like that to rip around looks like a blast! Solid video and driving all around, and bonus points because you reminded me of Trevor from Whitest Kids U Know lol
Bro looks cool af
pretty sick looking crx👌
Im learning to drive and Ive already been just naturally doing this lol. Didnt even know it was some fancy technique and noone ever said anything about it lol
the big reason it's not something you're meant to do with normal driving because a lot of people panic and slam both feet down, so they brake and accelerate, instead of left foot clutch and right foot brake.
True but as long as u a competent driver this shouldn’t get u into trouble
Man You remind me of Mudrock from Gorillaz :D
And this is great video!
Left foot braking made so much corners a child's play for me when I learned it!
Glad you enjoyed!
We got the same seats which means we from the same streets 🔥

great video and energy
I've never heard that left foot breaking was bad till this video left foot breaking is rally technique
Dude is teaching me how to drive like my grandma
heard awkward car drive and thought my music started playing over youtube 😭💀
When I was first learning to drive I naturally did this albeit in an automatic. Even what 8 years later I still drove this way and I think (it’s a theory) by being able to do this, I can drift my ram 1500 effortlessly this way lol

Been listening to $uicideboy$ for over 8 years now so im subbing just for that and also because honda lol, i have a 02 dc5 but its lowered and doesnt get rallyed on dirt because it cant even drive on dirt roads without the exhaust scraping a little, but i beat the absolute shit out of my 97 pathfinder on dirt roads and in the snow and everything hitting jumps and my ass floats from the seat for seconds at a time and seeing my toolbox come up in the air and slam back down on the floor its literally the best thing ever😂, I also live in PNW so I can turn basically anywhere off the highway where I live and start rallying down a random dirt road my poor car only gets to drive at most 4 to sometimes 5 months of the year.
this is sweet man, im trying to get better at driving my car and this is helpign :)) by the way are you in souther nevada?

How the f**** does this show up in my feed after I watch Initial d for the first time and have never searched for this content
It knows😂
hmm I know the left foot braking and i am using it nearly daily bc of all the ice and snow it is really handy in my fwd nissan nx100. But i just cant make the rear end slide that much without the scandinavian flick. so how do yo do it that your end slides thath much?
First off has a little to do with the wheel base of the vehicle shorter wheel base vehicles are “snappy” where as longer vehicles or heavier vehicles are “loose” so larger vehicles are technically easier to slide, but just think of the car as a box on springs and how you utilize those springs will allow you to angle and position the car how you need.
@@sleephardcrew thanks for the pointer.
in a race car you should never be right foot braking unless youre doing a heel toe downshift.
Wonderful love the vid
Glad you enjoyed it!!
So u push the gas to get the front wheels moving while the back ones are locked up cuz of the brake?
That is exactly right there are multiple reasons for left foot braking, but mainly it is to shift weight forward while being on throttle to dig into better grip
1:30 This is mainly said because most people are bad at LFB, and they drag the brakes. This causes uneeded excessive wear. Otherwise agreed 🏎️
Very true

Bro I haven’t seen a vape like yours since before Covid
I like the eagle eyes u got😂👍
i don't quite agree with the idea of "you can just shift when you gotta shift". most surprising situations on the street are not emergencies, but just smth like 'some idiot pulled out and now you gotta brake a bit' or so. if you now brake with your left foot you can not slow down and downshift at the same time, cause you need leftfoot-clutch for heeltoe. so you end up in a way too wrong gear not able to accelerate nicely once things roll again. don't get me wrong, leftfoot braking is cool. but if you wanna keep it real, keep it to the arguments that actually work, like going through a slidey corner where no downshift is needed, only applying the brakes for weight transfer
That’s a good point where u would use your judgment and determine which is better for a specific hazard vs. the area we live in is full of wild life where you don’t have a second to think about it…Colin was saying that in those cases where you HAVE to stop to avoid an obstacle it’s better to stall then collide. In that example.
@@sleephardcrew neither in a wildlife area nor in a city I would tell people to waste a sec of thought before reacting to a hazard. right-foot braking is great for situations where you need to downshift during braking, which is almost every situation. Usually you can't put the brake pedal down 100% anyway, because that would just lock the tires or activate the ABS, so it doesn't matter if your right foot has less power than the left one. But leftfoot braking is an excellent technique when you go around a corner that doesn't have a significant slowdown, but maybe dirt, mud or a weird bumpyness. full and direct control for weight transfer.
I do appreciate your info and you obviously have knowledge on the basic idea of left foot braking but please watch Team O'neils multiple videos on left foot braking and message us @shc_media on ig to continue this conversation.
@@sleephardcrew i know that channel. do you have a specific vid in mind?
now i can avoid trees in my civic
Finally😂

Lol I'll give it ago in my 2006 mazda 6 wagon
I’m gonna try it, but not sure why you’d wanna lock up the brakes in an emergency, also abs won’t work if the engine stalls so I would care a little bit
The goal is not to lock up the brakes the goal is too brake as hard as u can with out locking the brakes and what was said was “if the vehicle comes to a complete stop whilst in gear, it’s not that big of a deal you will just stall out”
How do you keep your foot above the brake without getting tired thoo. Everytime i try doing it my foot gets really tired oof
It takes some muscle after awhile u get used to it
That was awesome
Wait... do people not use their left for for breaking usually?
