Thanks Tom, this was extremely helpful. Easy to follow and not made overly complicated.

Can anyone know how to calculate IAUC

i want to ask if time interval is different will that method be applicapable???

    • @TomFaulkenberry

of course...note that at around 3:20 in the video, I mentioned that one should multiply by the width of the trapezoid (which was 1 time unit in my example). If your time interval was, say 2 hours, you would then multiply by the width of that time interval (2 hours). I hope this helps!

@@TomFaulkenberry can I ask why you kept multiplying by 1 throughout despite the other time intervals being 2 and 3 ? In your excel , you dragged the results instead of multiplying those blood levels by their respective times ? Please reply

@@rawdabrown2394 sure! The time *points* were 2 hours and 3 hours, respectively, but the *intervals* between them were still equal to 1 hour for each. It is the width of the interval that matters...not the value of either endpoint. I hope this helps!

@@TomFaulkenberry thank you very much. Much more clear now. After calculating the area under the curve , how would the values obtained be plotted on a graph ? Are they plotted on the same graph as e.g on glucose response graphs ? I am trying to understand what’s the significance of AUC in such cases and how they are best plotted.
