    Just wanted to take a moment to appreciate the content here. I have been debating going the law school route and this channel has been such a great resource. I spent a week just binge watching the videos. Not only were they motivational and full of information, there was also entertaining content as well. I'm so thankful that in the cluster of non-sense on YT, I was able to come across this gem of a channel and it makes my heart smile to see both of you doing well.
    BTW, you both are a huge influence on my decision to go to law school and helping me better navigate the career path to what I ultimately want to do in life.

    • @aalegalfocus
      @aalegalfocus 4 роки тому

      You could get into a lesser ranked school if you have a high LSAT. People who get into the ivies usually have at least 3.8 GPAs.

    Hi! Thank you for the video, it was very helpful!
    I am not American and I was wondering if you know any international student that got admitted. If yes, could you please make a video on that? It would be super helpful, there's so little information on that!

    • @Sistersinlaw
      @Sistersinlaw  6 років тому +2

      Yes, there are a number of international students who were admitted as full program (3-year students) and LLMs. I also summered with a number of students from Canada and Nigeria at my law firm. Unfortunately, we are studying at the University of Cape Town for the semester so we wouldn't be able to shoot a video like that until the spring.

      @@Sistersinlaw thanks for answering! I (hopefully) will graduate next year from an Italian law school and I was thinking of working/interning for a year and then apply for a llm in 2020. So even in the spring would be great!
      Thanks again and enjoy your semester abroad! 😊

      You can apply without them, but they are very helpful-even if your experiences aren't related to the law.

    Hi! What colleges did you attend for undergrad?

  • @melissaatmaca7730
    @melissaatmaca7730 6 років тому +3

    Hello, I was wondering whether the university you attended for your undergraduate had any impact upon your application for any ivy league law schools. I've seen a bunch of entries on Quora that had stated that it was crucial that you attend to a top university if you wish to have a shot at a prestigious law school:/

    • @Sistersinlaw
      @Sistersinlaw  6 років тому +3

      A bulk of the students at Columbia are from universities with great brand names, however, there are also tons of students who aren't. That said, if you are at a university that is not deemed "prestigious", it is important to remain well-rounded- in regards to extra-curricular, internships, grades, etc.

      Your major does not matter. It is unlike other professional programs where you have to complete prerequisites before applying.

    When should a person apply for law school?

    • @aalegalfocus
      @aalegalfocus 4 роки тому

      Fall of your senior year. Check with the individual law schools, but most have deadlines in February or March, prior to when you would start law school.
