Well either change with the times or crash. These sportsters were good 30 years ago, but now they are slow, heavy, clunky, and unrefined. A scout sixty blows away these bikes. Nostalgia shouldn't get in the way of innovation, otherwise you're in the wrong business.
@@alexv5581 I think they could have innovated with the Sportsters the way they did with the "big twins", many of which are either oil or part liquid cooled. I wouldn't want one of those new Sportsters off warranty.
Plenty’ of old ones to go around, every time i ride my old carbed and rigid mounted 01 I mutter this is the best bike ever made and i believe it. I really don’t want any other bike. I don’t care for speed or bling. There is no bike better for a 40mph back road putt on a warm summer afternoon.
@@shockashoota 2004 and later have the rubber mounted engines. Better for higher RPMs but I think they added something like 45lbs to the weight of the bike. I think I like the solid mount bikes in low to medium RPMs. IIRC, one of the aftermarket companies have a 6 speed transmission but they are expensive... A person can make the final drive taller with aftermarket sprockets for lower RPMs... I'm having trouble imagining sustained riding at 75mph with stock gearing/final drive. Maybe the way to go is higher gearing, then engine mods to boost torque.
@@filippocorti6760 my bike would cruise 75 all day no problem, you will get some vibration though. The rubber mount bikes are definitely smoother. I’m not much of a long haul rider I burn around town and probably do a 3 hour one way ride at the most but the peanut tank guys are stopping enough that I get a nice break.
Hey man nice bike! Love the sound and the color. I recently passed my RAC through H-D in august and I’ve always liked the look of the iron 883. But my question is, what is the little gadget on the throttle?
Yeah I’m aiming for those if I upgrade this exhaust. They look awesome and sound great too. Though I might upgrade bikes before I get to the exhaust so we’ll see 🤔
Amazing video, somehow recognized the Little Rock skyline immediately after seeing those three telltale buildings and the Churches.
I wish they didn't cancel the original Sportsters.

Hey man nice bike! Love the sound and the color. I recently passed my RAC through H-D in august and I’ve always liked the look of the iron 883. But my question is, what is the little gadget on the throttle?
It’s a throttle lock, basically cheap cruise control
Suena rico, cuando una Harley Davidson anda x una carretera, toda persona almita ésta hermosa moto.
I have the 2020 Iron 1200 with V & H short shots and it sounds great. You will be pleased with them. Your bike sounds nice though.

I switched from short shots to tbr 2-1 deeper sound
@@SportyJason oh that’s interesting. I haven’t heard either in person, but I’m looking for a deeper sound rather than just loud
Nice video bro...
Thanks man!
That’s funny! I use those exact same gloves. Bike sounds good bro!
Ha no way. They’re honestly perfect for the money and they look sick too
@@wandervision69 Where can i buy those? they look almost as good as the bike haha do they sell online?
Amazon, Vance leathers!
What kinda camera are you using? the picture is great.
Thanks! GoPro 8

Thanks! Stock exhaust with drilled baffles
howd you get the dash to display the RPMS !? id love that
It’s stock on this bike! Just used the multi function button to swap through
Sounds good, how do you record the sound?
Thanks I experiment a lot but pretty standard for me is using GoPro audio with a foam cover
What exhaust setup do you run man? Sounds awesome!
Thanks man! Stock mufflers with drilled baffles at the moment. I’m hoping to find a good deal on something V&H though
Nice bike bro, what size are your ape hangbars?
I actually don’t know the size. They’re stock mini-apes on the Iron 1200
maybe 10 inches bro?@@wandervision69
Yeah, that seems about right
What city and state is that?
Little Rock
What did you have to do to flip your mirrors upside down
I actually just screwed them on upside down using the same hardware and the holes that were there
What gloves are those?
Vance leathers - really good quality for the price
Thanks!
This is JC right? Lol
What is this city? Washington?
Little Rock
Cosa hai attaccato alla manopola gas?
what did you attach to the throttle knob ?
@sebastianbiraghini5955 it’s a throttle lock, basically budget cruise control
@@wandervision69 never seen
What go pro do you use?
Hero 8!
Would you ever do a burnout video
Never thought of it, but it actually is time for a new rear tire 👀
@@wandervision69 look forward to it lad is the back of her bad
Yeah the rear tire is making a lot of noise lol
@@wandervision69 how soon before a burnout video is made
