@@kamu4944 sort of, he essentially pioneered the modern position of point-forward, whilst technically classified as a small forward he fulfilled the role of point guard alot also and is considered by many to also be a part of the backcourt in the way he played.

This is one of the reasons he was selected for Team USA. They don't need another scorer, they need a good defender, do it all utility guy, and Derrick is the best Swiss Army Knife in the NBA.
DW is such a hard worker. Chasing back block is easy to get injury but he manages to play whole season in the rencent years.

What's crazy about White is that for the NBA he's probably only slightly above average athletically, but the timing of his jumps is impeccable. If you really watch, most of his blocks are when the ball is still in the shooter's hands or has just been released.

I personally love his Defense. Derrick White is such an elite 2 way player. But because the NBA is so OBSESSED About Jayson Tatum, guys like White, Jaylen Brown, and Holiday will never get enough credit. It’s sad.

It's wild to think that, like, White has lost some lift and slowed down a bit as he's built his strength - these Spurs highlights, he's the fastest dude on the court by a considerable margin. And the elevation from nothing. Take 10:22, I know folks arent going all out, but he's just effortlessly floating down the court, and then skies from the strong side to block on the weak? I never get tired of watching this dude play basketball.

It's crazy cause Jason kidd challenged a call that was exactly what pj Washington did to derrick white and it was counted as a foul
But when derrick did the same thing it counted as a block
one gripped the hand and followed through after the ball was knocked loose which is illegal, the other was a smack of the back of the hand which is legal
The foul that didnt happen that people are complaining about is JB touching PJ's back, not the hand to hand contact.
