Motor Neurone disease affects the brains communicating to muscles. Professor Steven Hawkins had it for many decades. Though usually it is terminal within 5 to 10 years at best.

But this time we're doing New york, Philly, New orleans and Chicago and one more destination, but we haven't decided yet. ❤
In uk we have been used to these adverts since 60s to now they taught us stranger danger and many many other dangerous things. Too many to mention, in fact most of our adverts today are heartbreaking charity adverts. Kids in uk are not afraid of these adverts they are just very aware.❤
The better of the Think! Ads usually contain a metaphor, in dead man talking notice how the motorcycle is turned off representing his cardiac arrest. There's another much older one showing a car hitting a pedestrian in slow mo and the depth is impressive, a kid bouncing a ball represents reaction time and pigeons wings flapping represent thinking time, it still gets used on speed awareness courses
Sorry to see that you are moving away from British content. I only have you here (I don't subscribe to patreons as there are too many).... I am from Scotland and enjoyed your reactions over the last year or 2. I guess that it is goodbye from me and I wish you all the best.
Bit of a weird one, but the motorbike is a 1997 Suzuki 600cc, it last changed hands in June 2016 but it's MOT ran out in June 2015 and was SORN'd, so no Road Tax! So, it was bought a year after it was no longer legal on the road!
Motor Neuron Diseas is what Stephen Hawkin had its a degenerative disease like MS. "Stephen Hawking had amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a type of motor neuron disease (MND)"
Always love you guys reactions - for this Christmas i wish you every happiness and ill be helping the lost & lonely on Christmas Day - love is the only thing that doesn't hurt. Much love to you both and yours - from Yorkshire ❤❤
That was a silly comment Spencer. ‘Blame your past’. Sometimes these things need help from others to be able to get your brain to rationalise and see the world differently, trust me violence with young kids leaves marks, you have fire to get yourself right but don’t make a comment like blame your past, that’s ignorance
I worked in end of life care, and Motor Neurone Disease (MND) was the illness that I and my colleagues feared the most. MND is the gradual decline in the messages sent from your brain along the spine to tell your muscles what to do. This leads your muscles to weaken, which will stiffen and waste away. This will affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink, and breathe. It literally is torture.
British tv is totally different to the USA as we have 5 main channels for the whole of the UK and public information adverts are shown on ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. Digital channels are different
The St John Ambulance is an ambulance service that also has training in first aid...cos as these ads stipulate... they cant always be there in time. Know your first aid as it could save a life. A hard hitting but effective British vid to exit on for sure.
Us Brits ain't perfect, we have our faults.... but one thing we do know and get right are hard hitting with the shock factor tv adverts thst live with you for a long time!
I’m in my late 30s but as a child I remember much shocking ones than that. The one with the mother driving and it crashes and her children in the backseat covered in blood EDIT: it’s called “Julie knew her killer”
I would've taken a few of these out and replaced them with "real children don't bounce back" "ventriloquist" "Sunday lunch" & "Think: Live with it" those ones amongst others I'll never forget
I think that;s the biggest differennce between us and America, every reactor says "These wouldn't ever be aired on TV". Why? Why does America insist on the world being positive and fluffy and that nothing bad ever happens? The sooner the Us wakes to reality the better off the people of America will be, because shit happens whether you ignore it or not so why not highlight it and try to do something about it.
The "Video Nasty" era in the UK resulted in bans on a bunch of horror movies, such that horror directors were often out of work and unable to attain funding because investors were never sure if it'd get banned (it came down to the censors and whether they got offended). So horror directors went into public information films for steady work, and it's stuck in the culture that this is how public information films are done in the UK. It's an odd relic of the culture that arose from a moral panic era about violence in movies. Even after the blacklist was removed, horror movie directors still ended up in a working relationship with charities and the government and still do, such that it's even reversed a bit. If you want to get into horror movies, a good way to get started is in charity information films because the dude in charge is probably a horror movie director.
While that might be a part of their continuation, these things were happening well before the 80s "video Nasty" moral panic. "Lonely Water" was from 1973, and it was as creepy AF, and it wasn't alone.
I love the kid falling out of the tree one, the twist just makes it so good. There's a few bad ones in here, but the ones that go against your expectations are the best :D
MND - Motor Neurone. Is a nasty thing it will destroy a persons motor skills and functions. So anything from basic things as speach and movement to the ability to breath and eat. Its very debilitating and as of yet there is no cure. The rugby world lost a giant of the game to MND Rob Burrow a former Leeds Rhinos player had his career cut short due to it. He passed earlier this year.
Motor Neurone Disease (UK: MND) is called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (US: ALS) or Lou Gehrig's Disease in the US. It's what Professor Stephen Hawking had.
THEE, MOST EFFECTIVE ADVERT, THAT WON ALL THE MEDALS AROUND THE WORLD, WAS , ''EMBRACE LIFE'', THE BEST VIDEO ( BRITISH ) SHOWN AROUND THE WORLD, NO BLOOD, HORROR, OF DEATHS, A MESSAGE ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE, OF WEARING OUR CAR SEAT BELTS. JOIN THE MILLIONS, AND WATCH IT. ''EMBRACE LIFE''.
These are public service announcements rather than advertisements. I think the one that is known as 'Torture By Any Other Name' is the most harrowing as it is still happening today around the world mostly to women. The lady in this is Emma Thompson of 'Love Actually' and 'Nanny McPhee' fame.
What we in the UK call 'Motor Neurone Disease', you Americans may know it as _ALS_ (& 'The Ice Water Challenge' - which my son also took part in, when he was a student at university - raised awareness and funds for it). It's also what British astrophysicist Professor Stephen Hawhing had...
You'll notice most of these are a few years old. That's because the appetite for using them is pretty much gone. Maybe they overdid the drama. They never seemed to improve anything. Now the worst we see, thankfully is abused donkeys in the Middle East. And that's more than bad enough. Of them all, I find the Red Cross' 'I am a Crisis' the most effective too. It's hard hitting without being downright savage.
I do not agree with your "hurt people hurt people". I was abused as a young child by the husband of my elderly babysitter. When my mother walked in on him my parents came to an arrangement with the babysitter that, because her husband was unemployed and she needed the income, they would not report him to the police provided he never came in contact with me again. Over the years I forgot it, then in my early 20s the memories and the shudders started coming back after I saw a photo of a bog mummy. When I told my mother about my unexpected reaction to it (I love archaeology and horror films) she took one look at the photo, said "how interesting" and said it looked like the babysitter's husband. To this day I still feel betrayed, 40 years later. I worked in care and even when growing up and before I saw the photo I was always very careful to listen to what a child or adult might be saying (not just the surface words) so they didn't feel ignored or betrayed, which I now understand. I never did that to my child, or anyone I've looked after. Been there. Done that. Not having it.
The motor neurone advert , thats what that condition can and does to people over months rather than 60 seconds of AD , it just takes away mobility speech and just wrecks your body until it kills you

I always remembered that one too, wonder why it gets left off of compilations like this....
I always remember the one with the teenager driving a country road too fast, goes through a hedge into someones back garden. That was scary and still with me
@@fionamorrison4386 we did have some amazing PSA
Motor Neuron Disease is what professor Stephen Hawkins had, for context.
My dad would take his belt on me, just because I was going to do something wrong, I was 8 ,1st time he told me . Left home at 16 , last time he hit me. I was a mess , I' fought everyone who got in my face, almost killed Mathew. Served 3 years. I'm 58 got 2 daughters Toni and Leah, 3 grandchildren 2 boys 1 girl . I changed my life I changed my life. Worked hard , I'm not with the mum of my children, but she's a main part of my life, we're friends. I can't talk to my DAD , he's passed mum too . we're not blessed with happy families, but choose a path better, my 2 daughters love me, and my grandkids, I'm the best bampy ever❤
@@pdevs1966 💚🤍🧡
Thankyou guys. I hope you leave a trail that I can follow to your next exploits. Exceptional
I watched these’s on tv as a kid now I have a son it hit so much harder!!
Motor Neurone disease affects the brains communicating to muscles. Professor Steven Hawkins had it for many decades. Though usually it is terminal within 5 to 10 years at best.
Sad that you're coming to the end of random uk content guys been a pleasure 🤝 You should maybe have saved us for last though coz nothin else is gonna come close 😆
That 1st one gets me every time. The compulsion to check my smoke alarm is overwhelming.
Remember these adverts would be randomly thrown in with all the sales and happy ads too, so the shock impact hits hard.
Well done making it through all these.
I thought your channel was predominantly about uk Music, comedy, way of life etc. That's why i watch you lads. Youre never patronising and non biased. It won't be the same again. But thanks for all your reactions. Happy holidays as you say in the US. I'm coming to the US next year for the third time. I've done the west coast tours twice and Arizona and Nevada and Yosemeti, etc. Amazing country.
This video reaction deserves 10k views at least .
It's just a prop in a film, get a grip.
Everybody needs to react to these and the most scariest drink driving video too when it's close to Xmas
We need to practice gratitude every day. Most of us don't know we're born (as we say here).
Amen to that!
Us Brits ain't perfect, we have our faults.... but one thing we do know and get right are hard hitting with the shock factor tv adverts thst live with you for a long time!
Good luck guys, I really wish you the best with what you do next x
Keep in mind, there is _never_ a time when that last one isn't happening somewhere.
I’m in my late 30s but as a child I remember much shocking ones than that. The one with the mother driving and it crashes and her children in the backseat covered in blood
EDIT: it’s called “Julie knew her killer”
You should have seen the one's on the TV in the 80s.
@ share the titles and I’ll check them out
@@rixsist7048 If you want ones from the 70s, try "lonely water".
Your Reactions to British things really made your Channel. I hope you haven't made a Big Mistake.
We knew we would lose people with this, and we're okay with that.
Yeah, we don’t f**k around when it comes to our PSAs!
nor do australia and nz they are equally good with the WTF response from the PSAs
Hard-hitting stuff, but get's to the very core. Cheers guys!
Motor Neurone disease is known as Lou Gehrig's disease (LGD) in the US.
"Heavy things wake you the fuck up", no truer words have ever been spoken. Our PSA's are there to bring real life into perspective.
I love the kid falling out of the tree one, the twist just makes it so good. There's a few bad ones in here, but the ones that go against your expectations are the best :D
Serious question guys. Do you not have hard hitting adverts in the states??
Seen these a few times now. I'm a grown ass bloke but every time " I'm scared " breaks me and I'm weeping...
British ads and people are built different, most of us need shocking
I just checked my smoke and CO2 alarms! Its a good idea though as clock change day happens twice a year so just checking then is better than nothing
No more British content but that's your bread n butter. It's been good guys, thanks
Gutted you guys are not going UK reactions on here anymore, will miss them ❤
Motor nurone disease (MND) is known as ALS in the states. Remember the ice bucket challenge? This is what the research was for
These are not ads, they are Public Information Films. Mostly on behalf of charities and volunteer organisations (like St John's Ambulance).
In other news one of America's most wanted was just arrested in the next town over from me in North Wales... Daniel San Diego
Great reaction guys
These are public service announcements rather than advertisements. I think the one that is known as 'Torture By Any Other Name' is the most harrowing as it is still happening today around the world mostly to women. The lady in this is Emma Thompson of 'Love Actually' and 'Nanny McPhee' fame.
Well, you certainly know how to go out on a high!
What we in the UK call
'Motor Neurone Disease', you Americans may know it as _ALS_ (& 'The Ice Water Challenge' - which my son also took part in, when he was a student at university - raised awareness and funds for it).
It's also what British astrophysicist
Professor Stephen Hawhing had...
They just moved them. If you stream any of the main channels they have them. I still drive past think bike billboard every day.
Now that's what should be run during Superbowl.
The motor neurone advert , thats what that condition can and does to people over months rather than 60 seconds of AD , it just takes away mobility speech and just wrecks your body until it kills you
I believe you Americans call Motor Neuron Lew Gering's Disease...... apologies if I've spelt that wrong x
Bernardo's is a charity set up to help children in the UK
fwiiw as a Brit I have never seen any of these ads but Good God I should have done!
Yes we've had some VERY hard hitting adverts and PSA here in the U.K i've lost count now how many different people have reacted to the videos you just watched too on youtube. Maybe you should watch the 1s shown in New Zealand as they've got some very hard hitting ones oh here too , we have ALOT more than the 1s you just watched have a look for them too.
This has cheered me right up 🙄 The ones with the car crashes used to be really bad, about drunk drivers.
The motor neurone disease ad basically just demonstrated what the disease does to the body over a prolonged amount of time BUT if it was all to happen in the space of about 20 seconds
