As an Indian i got a chance to drive on this Bridge a month ago! Felt so happy and proud that we as humans are capable of achieving such stuffs thorough our engineering knowledge!

That was a fascinating and truly inspiring documentary for the building of this wonderful suspension bridge.

At 2:40 - someone using a hand rake at a massive entryway! The first time I saw this tunnel was a video of a person driving through it. I was gobsmacked by its size and beauty, both the bridge and the roundabouts.

I hope that the U. S. will create infrastructure projects that rehabilitate our country's failing roadways, bridges, and more. I hope that the Hardanger bridge project will be an inspiration to us.

I know this is a 1-year-old comment, but if you think you have failing roadways, buddy you do not know what bad roads are. If you want to know, go to Eastern Europe, there are plenty of terrible roads there that are considered 'main roads'. And probably most of Asia and South America would work too! The US's roads are amazing compared to what we have here in Latvia for example.

Norway doesn't really have that good roads either. Plenty of E6 (main motorway) is pretty bad compared to roads in other countries.

The human being is so clever. I have to say there is no way you are getting me to walk over the temp walkway that was used during construction. Fuck that

In Australia maintenance is a foreign word, use it till it drops , maintenance too much work, then build it all again.🤣

We'll never have this kind of engineering in my f*****g country (Portugal). From Lisbon to Porto, we have 3 motorways side by side. What for??? They are always empty. God save Norway.

Believe me... I really do understand what do you feel. No doubt that some highways will hugely be an advantage for norwegians specially between main cities. I understand your complaints about small roads and speed limits. Travel between Oslo and Tromso on national roads limited to 70km/h is a torture and eternal! 😧 A highway should cut the time to half. My comment refers to your tunnels. Here in Portugal, from River Tagus up, there are many mountains and hills. To cross them we have to make sometimes huge detours to arrive to the other side, while for example in Switzerland, even in plains they made tunnels to clear cities and villages from traffic. And in Norway, specially in the fjords, every hill has a tunnel to shorten the travel. I was referring about the nonsense of having 3 highways between the same cities when only one is hardly used. Only in May 2016 we will have the first real tunnel with 5,66km long (the biggest of Portugal and Spain combined) between Amarante and Vila Real. I love Norway. Have a nice weekend.

true. I guess its just a matter of being vigilant and driving fast when you can and slow when you cant.
