- Zimou Tan | Art | "Lloyd" 190 minutes live portrait painting demo. This is a little bit longer and the more finished painting, the more time had spent on the refined details on the face, more subtle details on wrinkles, and bone structures. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and leave your comment below. Enjoy!

As someone raised all digital, pure analog skill like this blows my mind. Much respect!
I thank God for youtube. I thank you for sharing your special talent.
Wowweee! It's easy to see why art is (should be) expensive. Thanks for sharing that.
Brilliant! Thank you for this, amazing work.
you make your subjects look so noble
Thank you for a great experience it was!
Fantastično,kao igra kistom i bojom stvara slikarski majstor portreta.Hvala na doživljaju "Lloyd"190 minutes live paiting demo by Zimou Tan.
Fantastic colors, I subscribed right away :)
Es extraordinario, me gusta tu estilo, es fresco y con una paleta sencilla sacas mucho,
Thanks for sharing, that was gorgeous
gosh i love it !
impactante!!!!! master!!
Bravooooooo, c'est mgnifique, toute mon admiration.
Thank you, it is a very simple palette.
@imshingo Thanks, what is the drying time? Once again I'd just like to say how impressed I am with your work, please post more paintings. I love the burt sienna against the flesh tones of the head. Thanks for the info!
too good man, too good
@curlykale A thin layer could be dry enough for more layers after 2-3 hours. But since I often painting wet on wet, it doesn't matter for me.
Brilliant work! i love your technique. how many brushes and what size brushes do you use for a single painting this size?
@tamtheartist Thank you. I was about 4 brushes, from size 2 to 12.
It's kind of you to share this. I wish I could also see the paint pallet at the same time too!
@Vanna6345 Thank you for your feedback. The viewers have the right to appreciate the artwork or not, as much as the artists have the right to paint and express how they feel and what they have observed from the surrounding atmospheres, as long as not personally attack on anyone. The reddish color wasn't red, it was burnt sienna.
Muito bom este trabaho, a técnica está perfeita
Brilliant! What did you mix with the oil paints, linseed oil and turps?
Indeed, from live is more difficult then copying a photo. From live you'll have to observe everything from your point of view, it involves with your anatomy knowledges, and color sensitivities. People can copy from photo might not be able to work from live, because you'll have to create everything from your own thinking process, instead copying what's already provide to you.
It is the respect of the model.
Thank you for your appreciation.
@greatistartist45 Yes, it was created with oil paints.
It is a very hard job to sit there for a long time,usually I play a movie for the sitter to watch while I paint them.
I have done live events many years back, it was a great experience, other then workshops, now I only do private commissions.
Love your work! What program would help me put a sequence of photos of my paintings on You Tube? I'm not asking for extra fancy quality. Is there any simple program to do this? Thanks for any help.
May I ask which book you read has my drawing in it? No, I don't have workshop in Columbus.
@calin4thewin There will be more demos, when I have time to compose more.
Thank you.
@calin4thewin Yes, I do paint myself, I used to have the painting on my website, I have some of it on my facebook since someone took over my website.
Gorgeous! Is it alla prima or done in multiple sessions?
@Evildemon612 You are welcome, glad it is helpful.
@Vanna6345 So do you paint yourself? Where are the uploads with your paintings?
Just curious :)
@Vanna6345 It is a different opinion, you have the right to say what is in your mind. We all make different comments, it is a way to learn to live, and live to learn. We all shall do better in the next time. :)
@mrskittykatd Thank you for your support!
@curlykale It was mixed with refined linseed oil only.
do you mix three or more values of skin tones before you start?
I just read book that have your drawing..do you have workshop in the Columbus?
@eyepoo Thank you! Between digital, I still prefer old methods.
peerfecto
Is this an "oil" - painting? Did you mix another medium on the oil?
do you find it different to work from photos than from live models?
@imshingo Hi, oh that comment was directed at Vanna6345, the person who said it was a cartoon with too much red. They have no painting videos of their own that I could see, so yeah, I thought I'd ask :)
Will there be more uploads from future demos?
Wow
@MrWeus I was using imovie to compose the videos, hope it would help.
oh these endings shadows... always so difficult to make perfect... Great work overall! :)
which book your drawing?
Was this made in oil paints?
Alla prima, single session.
which the book draw?
Have you ever thought of doing something like this at events? You can pull this off in the time it takes for the average business function. It is similar to the whole caricature thing in that people can watch but your result is much more high end. The only thing is who would the subject be, someone important at the event of someone who could sit still the way a model does.
oil painting or acrlyic?
It is oil, mixed with linseed oil.
You are welcome.
Hi, what's the song? It's nice
@WASSIMLENS Thank you, I believe anyone can do the same as I can, just matter of time and experiences.
No, I never premix colors to start a painting.
@mrsoppegard Thank you.
Carmen Fantasy de Pablo Sarasate, basada en la famosa ópera Carmen de Georges Bizet, te recomiendo particulamente la sigiente interpretación: youtube: Sarah Chang - Part 1 of Sarasate's Carmen Fantasy
@Vanna6345 Cartoon?
@Vanna6345 Don't worry, none taking.
@imshingo Cheers!
Not sure what you mean.
All paintings are oil.
From teaching.
Oil
@XXLBritish Mix less.
you make your subjects look so noble
Thank you.
You are welcome.
Thank you.
Thank you.
