After one year of conducting participatory observation on clubs, I collected a huge amount of data and I converted it to different categories and words. At this point this words were meant to inform my research question -this mean my research question emerge from my experience rather than from literature. This video was so informative and complete that it helped me to bring the previous partial results into a meaningful research question I can keep working with!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
I like a lot how you present your discussion. Very clear and easily understandable.. It helps me in making my PPT on Framing Quantitative research questions!
One of the best videos I've seen on research. Thank you. If you can direct me to questions related to qualitative studies, that would be extremely helpful. :)
Dr. Maggard, Thanks for this video. I am a pursuing a Doctorate in Education with emphasis on Christian Leadership in Ministry Leadership and your practical steps to the research question was quite informative. I have been out of graduate level education for 20+ years and my anxiety level was climbing when I was asked by my professor to create a research question that I would not need start researching at least two or three semesters. I found this video and the level of anxiety dropped significantly. Many times those who provide a service don't get feedback on their services impact and that is the reason for my comment. I wanted to provide you with feedback to let you know that truly I was positively impacted by your video. Thanks for posting.
i am amazed, why this video hasn't anybody commented. i just was into writing a research paper and regret for not getting across this video earlier. i might have written a better paper with tips and organization mentioned in this video. Really a nice video, i must say. Thanks for good work.
Given my lack of particular interest that I could find and the limited info on the one that I'm currently stuck with, I'm screwed. Not in an anxiety freakout type of way but situationally. I can potentially contribute to different topics, but I don't feel like I care enough about the still unestablished topic I have right now, which is on teens and privacy, but which we further decided to be teen abuse and privacy. I don't know if our group shares the same idea behind what we mean by abuse, and surely the word by itself is too broad. This is probably for students who are more socialized than myself and watch reality TV, although I do have awareness of the outside world, just don't give a shit about trends like teen-related shows.
Thank you Dr. Your teaching style is very effective. I noticed your recent videos are over 3years old. Have you quit posting videos? I will humbly request for videos on basic statistics in epidemiological studies. 😊 Thank you!
Good job. I am however confused by the relationship and causality research questions. To me they deem to be similar. I need to he helped draw a line between the two. Thanks.
many thanks for great presentation
