Pamela would have been the "second" Mrs. Asa Buchanan, because Asa married her (as Captain Jeb Stewart) ten years prior to her coming into the story around 1985/86, making it 1975/76 when they "married". However, that marriage to Pam and another wife would be nullified, and I will explain why... Asa was still married to Olympia, when he married Pam the first time (though neither woman knew about the other one). The backstory of Asa and Olympia's marriage was, Asa caught Olympia in an affair with their ranch foreman Yancey Ralston. Because of this affair, Asa ordered Olympia to leave and never see their sons Clint and Bo again. He made up a story to the boys that Olympia had died, all the while he institutionalized her, then when Olympia subsequently recovered, Asa pensioned her off in Europe but threatened her if she ever came back. There was never record that Asa and Olympia divorced during this time, as it would have been public record, and Asa didn't want a paper trail. Then Asa becomes engaged to Samantha in 1980... Sam marries Asa, but again, as it was with in his first marriage to Pam, that marriage too is nullified. Once Olympia does die in her revenge scheme against Asa, by taking a tumble over a balcony, that legally ends their marriage. The next several marriages that occur afterwards in the story are legitimate, Asa's marriages to: Delila, Becky Lee, his second marriage to Pam, and then Renee, Blair, Alex, Gabrielle, and Rae. At Asa's second faked funeral, Pam likes to taunt the other ex-wives that Asa marrying Pam as Jeb Stewart the first time, made all their marriages up until her second marriage invalid. But no, it was the first Mrs. Buchanan, being alive for a time, that made Pam's first marriage and Samantha's marriage invalid.
That was a pretty good summary, thanks! I really liked the character of Asa, and surprisingly, I thought his marriage to Becky Lee was amazing. I hated the way they brought her back for the fake wedding and had her character as a gold digger and a racist, something her character NEVER was on her original run.
@@erikandrus4387 Yes, and it was awful! I REALLY loved the way Becky Lee's and Asa's marriage of convenience for baby Drew's sake became a real love story. She humanized Asa much like Renee did years later.
@@everythingsoapopera unless she was just being devils advocate? But I don’t remember her coming back to the show, I remember she did, but I didn’t catch those episodes. She was always a very sweet person. And she knew what it was like to be discriminated against, by some of Landview when she first showed up. Yeah bad writing. Obviously somebody on that writing team didn’t care enough.
My grandfather’s sister had a crush on Asa! All women wanted Asa Buchanan who watched OLTL.
Who was her favorite wife for Asa?
@@everythingsoapopera none!!! She hated all of them! 😂😂😂
Are they showing Olympia? I barely saw her trying to sabotage Asa and Samantha’s wedding.
Yes, Olympia is in there! 😃
You forgot his marriage to Gretal Rae Cummings and his third marriage to Renee

@@everythingsoapopera Becky Lee became a racist?! That is terrible character assassination, and I agree with you 101%!
