I have an Ana Luisa bracelet from the AmandaRachLee collab and it really is such high quality! I'm also curious about my personal color now because I like wearing both gold and silver jewelry (my bracelet is gold) and I tend to wear deep maroons, burgundies, and sometimes marigold or orange. Autumn colors, basically. But I also feel very fresh in crisp white. And also side note but the soft blur lip color has absolutely changed my life, thank you Michelle!
Has anyone asked Michelle Phan a question on that creator connection website ThoughtSpace AI where you get instant answers to questions and can watch where he discusses it? Ok, was just wondering.
Finally, this trend is getting more widespread in the west 💅🏻
Also, no one asked but im a summer mute! I love me a good autumn deep palette though 🤭
Yes! I wish I learned this earlier! So helpful!
For real finally, coloring makes such a huge difference!
This is widespread in the west, just not many ppl actually apply it....
It has been widespread in the west, it was very popular in the 80s
My mom had a book from the 80s talking about this, so she taught me from a young age that I'm a spring. I didn't realize most people had never heard of this! So funny that this trend is coming back around
I remember watching an episode of Doogie Howser where one character Janine was working in a department store and guessed a customer as a Spring, and for YEARS I had no idea what she was talking about! I wish I were more curious back then to at least google it and saved myself years of terrible fashion picks on myself! 😆
I have a book like that!
This video reminds me of your old ones: soft, dreamy, educational and not too long to watch. I missed that cozy vibe.

I value the information you've shared with us over the years. Because of your lipstick video, I learned how undertones work. Now, I work at Sephora and use the vein trick you showed in the video to help customers with foundation, lipstick, etc.
AlexandrasGirlyTalk video is also very helpful for this! She taught me in her video that when you shop for clothes, turn on your camera and change the filter to black&white/gray scale to find a color that matches your 'value'. Color theory is very interesting 😁
I missed that one!
YES I love her channel so much!!! That video was a CRAZY eye-opener for me, and since diving deeper into color theory a year ago it helped me understand her video even more!
Oh great advice!
I soon realize if I found any orangey tint in the foundation, just don't buy it because I would look like a toasted orange head LOL
YESSS! I’ve been a personal color consultant for a long time and I’m so glad people are FINALLY GETTING IT !
Woahhh I need this
My mom had a book called Color Me Beautiful and the pictures were dated but the color theory was great. I grew up knowing that I’m a Summer. It used to really annoy me when people in the makeup stores or in flagships would deny the personal colors and say that anything goes now, we don’t follow rules. But look how much better we would all feel if we did follow our personal color?? Smh.
Flagships🤔 oh autocorrect! not sure what I was spelling but, Ulta and Sephora maybe…
My friend was wearing a warm lipstick that I was obsessed with! I bought it for myself the next day and realized the warm color didn’t look the same on me. I just discovered that cooler toned makeup goes better with my complexion.
YES! Your Autumn Ombré look is still one of my favorites to this day! That look was sooo beautiful on you. Now it makes sense. 😄
Right???
@Michelle Phan remember autumn again make up look? It's divine on you
Your eye makeup is so minimal, yet so beautiful. Please do a video on how you achieved this look. 🌸
I often hear people say that certain colors are unflattering or that they should only wear certain colors to enhance their appearance. However, I believe that color on clothing does not have a significant impact on a person's appearance. While certain colors may complement a person's skin tone or bring out their eyes, I don't think that there are any colors that should be avoided altogether. Ultimately, I believe that it's more important to wear clothes that fit well, make you feel confident, and suit the occasion than to worry about the color. After all, fashion is about expressing your personal style and feeling good in what you wear, not conforming to arbitrary rules about what colors you can or cannot wear
I can’t believe that I’ve been watching ALL of your vids for over 10 years omg
+ I love this! I watched a ton of color analysis asmr a while ago ❤
Over a decade later and you're still one of the best in the game. Your videos are always so informative and well edited!
Thank you! I started my make up journey at 29 and it’s been fun caring for my skin and putting on make up. I enjoy going wild and loud but also calm… I love red so trying new stuff looks different but it looks good sometimes. I love brown lips for that “close to goth look” but sometimes my clothes says no
It's always fun to dress up and experiment!
I know I have some personal neutral colours, like navy and black that I buy most of the time. But every now and then I go through phases of being obsessed with a colour, like this past few months I've been obsessed with the wine/marsala/burgundy and it makes me feel so powerful when i wear it any capacity!
Color is so personal, I find that I have moments too of color depending on how I feel!
I’m so glad people are learning about this! I recommend it to everyone into fashion and beauty. It makes my life so much easier. When I go thrifting and look through the racks, if it’s not my colour -unless it’s an exceptionally gorgeous piece that I just cannot pass up- I will not by it. I just scan through straight to my colours. I am a fair skinned Italian and I am I Clear Spring. If have on colours that aren’t flattering to me I I look and FEEL like a corpse lmao. I look great in bright, warm clear chroma colours. Basically a giant Easter egg lol. I have also found that a lot of my colours are popular in children’s clothing. But it’s so me, I love it ❤.
I also got my color analysis done by Haejin!! She’s amazing :) and I’m also an autumn deep! I can’t believe we’re matching 😭😭
Where is she located?
@@missshellz9009 Torrance, CA! Her appointments fill up really fast
Love this!! This was soo informative 😊 Hope you come out with a video for us to find out what shades we are! 🥹
I got my colors done a couple months ago! It was so fun! I’m a deep autumn as well 😊
Michelle!! Love this content so much, could you do makeup looks for other seasonal palettes on special guests? Especially Asian, bc we so often get lumped into a “dark winter” just because we have dark hair and brown eyes.
I’m old enough to remember this being a thing in the 80’s.
And the 1920s lmao
Love this! I got my colors done Jan.27 by House of Color, I'm a Deep Blue Autumn or Dark or Deep Autumn in other systems, Blue just refers to the majority of my "wow" colors that I can wear at 100% were deep blues and deep purples. Highly recommend them, they're incredibly thorough, it was such an eye-opening experience and seriously so much fun!
How interesting! Personally love cozy Autumn colors like *warm pinky pumpkins & deep rich chocolates* ♡
Yesss!
I can see that when I wear grey, pastels, beiges, muted & cool colors in general, even black, I look totally sick. Those days I tended to wear a lot of makeup.
When I wear hot pink, bright red, deep chocolate, bright orange, I look really fine, I get lots of compliments (even if it's tracksuit lol), those are my neutrals. I look young and healthy even before doing my makeup.
I love this 🥰
Happy to see more people talking about personal color and color theory!
I'm still learning how to use this for my personal style (dressing for my body type and using complimentary colors). I still dress like my 18-year-old self and I'm 28 😇
Examples of fashion styles:
Natural, Soft, Classic, dramatic, romantic, etc!
I love Ana Luisa, and dainty jewelry. I need to get my personal color done as well. Thank you for sharing this experience.
I’m so happy that outro is back! Nostalgic to say the least ✨
im definitely curious about my colors bc although i can rock cool colors (i look more serious), i get the most compliments in spring colors.
I remember trying to find what season you were back in the 80s, intriguing that this is coming back, especially now that we have more makeup for different skin tones! This video was so satisfying to watch.
I'm a deep autumn too... Never looked better before i knew that
From many years ago, I thought Michelle's personal color type is spring,BUT Michelle can rock any color!❤Use different tone to express different inspiration❤❤
I still think she's a spring tbh - she has that clarity.
It’s fun to know your season! I’m a clear spring.
My two year old loves your makeup tutorials ❤️ I've been watching them for years but it's so nice to see my daughter loves your videos as much as I do
Thankyou Michelle xo You are loved, and put out great informative videos. Hope you continue to ignore haters as you are one of the most honest you tubers on this platform, thanks again!
“Getting your colors done” was a huge trend in the 80’s
Not so much a fan of the advertising, but great tips about colors and how they compliment us!
Thanks, Michelle. Have a wonderful new year!
I actually liked the cooler tones a lot! I feel like every method comes with a pinch of salt and finding what you enjoy from a ton of different approaches.
Growing up, I was always told by ppl around me, even some beauty influencers in my country that cool tone is for light skin and warm tone is for tan skin (like me). I struggled in finding clothes and makeup that suits me. I couldn't even lay my hands on cool tone stuff bc I was told that it was not for me for so long that it stuck in my head. When I turned 22, I found out that I'm a winter cool. I started to try colors that I absolutely loved but couldn't dare to try like cool tone pink, dark blue, gray, etc.
Now, I'm feeling so much more confident in my clothing and makeup. They really brighten up my features.
(And I also found out that I'm not even tan, it's just the crazy beauty standards in Vietnam. My foundation literally in the light shades, not even medium range)
I feel you.
I think I'm kinda golden olive, a lot of the time pinkish makeup looks grey on me and warm foundation looks orangey on my face...
I recently got my personal color analysis. I always thought I was autumn warm. I NEVER imagine myself being a cool tone girl since my skin is super yellow and my brain was just, yellow = warm lol
But, turned out that I’m summer light cool 🤣 it’s really fascinating to see how different I look with different colors. Now I know why sometimes people told me I look older, because I was wearing totally the opposite of my personal color!
If Your complexion is yellow toned then you would be warm undertone or possibly Olive maybe leaning neutral. Did the colorist say that you had a warm or cool skin undertone? Just curious!
That' s a classic 😅. Yellow can look golden (warm) or lean to green, aka cetrine or olive, even to grey-ashy (cool, then). And here is where the umbrella therms warm-cool-neutral becomes vague. A skin wich contains yellow + blue is warmcool?😅😜. Should be easier to divide people in colors instead of temperatures. I.e.: golden orange, reddish orange, peach orange, pink, pinky beige, golden yellow, greenish yellow...
Michelle, I love your videos ❤️ so calming and dreamy ❤❤❤
The good luck and ending after threw me so back ❤️
Curious on my personal color now lol
They’re lots of tools and techniques that can help you. I’m working on a new video where I’m diving deeper. This video shares the basics on learning my own personal color. Stay tuned for more videos!!!
Oh no the old outro I'm not crying you are 🤧💖
its not just content its also education. Michelle truly is the epitome of beauty with brains.
omg, you look so elegant with your hair tiede on the back, love it
I too am intrigued by personal color. I have never had it done professionally though. One thing I find interesting is that you are Autumn and warm but all the makeup you put on in this vid looks very cool toned to me. Yes? No?🤔😊
My coworker had beautiful pair of hoops on and they looked high quality, she got them from Ana Luisa . I’ll have to check them out
i have more of a neutral skin tone, so i like to have options for both cool and warm colors! i usually go brown for my neutral (brown is the new black!) with orange pink and green for my colors!
I haven’t done an official consultation but I’ve been told I’m a true winter. This was the case after I dyed my hair black. I’ve had skin that burns when I go into the sun and cooler deeper colors look better on me
OMG I did this in high school. I am a WINTER and my color is Red. Red compliments my skin tone and I actually get many compliments when I wear the color red as a top.
I’m excited for the next video! ❤
Love getting back to basics 😀 l also your ending music remind me of Maplestory that I used to play 💕😍
SHES BACK AGAIN!!! ❤
Omg I've been watching you since the very start and in the past days I also discovered color analysis! Now I watch your video and its not the first time I feel like we are synced xD
I have been obsessed with identifying myself as a one certain color season for months now. And now boom, you made a video about it. I think I am some type of winter...I'm guessing a deep winter. It is so hard typing yourself! You should get into Kibbe and essences. I think you are a romantic body type, or a soft gamine. 🧡
I love you Michelle!! Since I was a kid I’m young teen now
the new outro ⭐️__⭐️
❤❤❤
I love youu, Mich🥺
Loved the tips! Also your hair looks amazing here, as always. Makes me wanna get a haircut again hehe
Your hair and face look extra pretty today
My pallette is dark autumn ❤️ which I think it's the same thing as Deep autumn.
I was never really a fan of thin or dainty jewelery until I tried them on too however I could never find a chain that didn't break in less than one wear
Honestly the Ana Luisa jewelry is great quality, the necklaces have not broken on me yet and it doesn't irritate my skin!
You seem like such a bright spring tho!
My husband is Vietnamese and also a autumn deep. He always likes wearing dark purple lol 😆 he needs to wear more earthy tones. I'm a cool summer and our personal colors clash so much haha
more video like this pls. such an informative video
More to come!😊
Ana Luisa ad with a dash of colour analysis.
Loved this 😍
I literally hit the like button when I saw your mom she’s so darn cute 🥹
The queen!
Легенда снова выпускает видео ❤
I’m glad there’s a color video that I can watch that’s not in korean XD was always interested but didn’t wanna sit there watching a long video in korean even though i’m korean XD
MICHELE I LOVE MWAH QUEEN
Omg that outro made me feel like I was in hs/college again lol
I want a colorist just for the experience . I do know I am a deep winter or autumn , depending . I am told I look good in warm and cool colors .
The throwback outro. 🥺🥰
Is it just me or do you find her voice so calming omg💕
Here for Zelda’s Lullaby. And for finding my right shade of course. 🤗
I love you so much Michelle and I really hope you see my comment .. I miss your videos 😢 please upload more if you can 😞
Where do I find a service like this? Do makeup artists offer it now or is this a separate thing entirely?
I naturally pulled towards my colours.
That was so interesting!
i remeber your Barbie transformation video. It was my favourite childhood video
Michelle, I love how you put Ocarina of time song 💙
For those of us not in California, is there a way to find out our season?
please teach us makeup for every season
I would love to see you get color tested! is there a video somewhere?
Pls! More color stuff!
For some like me who don’t have access to color experts personalization, how can we find the right color?🤷♀️💐
My next video will cover that! Stay tuned!
@@MichellePhan oh I will! You bet. Thank you!🤗
Holaa Michelle, saludos desde México 🇲🇽 te miraba desde tus primeros videos ❤️
Please make seasonal color makeup palette soon. ❤❤❤
I love this
Could your personal colour change? If you’re more/less tanned for example or change your hair colour? Or will it always the same?
Good question.
I learnt this in Japan I’m an autumn gal 🍂
It would be so cool if a makeup brand released sets that correspond to each colour season wink wink
Side Question: Do you plan on re-releasing an eyeliner pencil in black again. Yours was the best!!!
I wish this video had more information about how to find out my personal color...because it's really more of an ad than anything else.
I’ve never heard of this before and just got to test the theory. It’s remarkable how healthy/unhealthy my skin looks depending on the color
I'm literally color black all year 😅
That Zelda tune in the background ❤️
