That's what's so wonderful about patchwork and quilts, we all can put our own ideas into them. I usually do what you did and try to design my own. I have yet to make a quilt with old fabrics. I really admire you for reusing items. More the original spirit of patchwork and quilting. My youngest daughter had my last 2 and they ended up a bit tattered and used by her dogs! And it was perfect to use one of the patterns with this bunch of old clothes. Our dog has 'borrowed' quite a number of the quilts I have made, and some crochet/knit blanket. He is very spoiled!😂
