Postcard from Bornholm
🌼 Hejsa!
This video has a few snippets from our summer holiday on the Danish island Bornholm. Sadly, both my husband and I got c0vid while we were away so we didn't get to explore the island as much as we had planned. And there are less snippets of the island in this postcard. But I hope you enjoy it and get some idea of how pretty it is. We are already making plans to go back! 😍
x Carina
P.S. There will be a pause in the Summer Slow Stitch videos until I feel better and my voice improves!

It was a good day. 😊 x Carina P.S. There will be a pause in videos August 2nd. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - My b...

Textile Book 100 Day Project 2024 Slow Stitching Sort Of
Переглядів 1232 місяці тому
Hejsa! The finished 100 day project! 100 days of daily fabric collage, turned into a textile book with 24 pages. It is all stitched on the sewing machine, using a free motion foot. So it's not technically slow stitching although the randomness and use of scraps makes it feel like a slow stitching project. To me anyway... 😀 x Carina - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Playlist ...

Nice video!
Oh this video is so lovely. And your work is beautiful. I'm so glad I found you. I subscribe today. Happy crafting xx
Thank you so much!😊
Investing in crypto now should be in every wise individuals list, in some months time you'll be ecstatic with the decision you made today
Very nice video, thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much!
Oh what a lovely video. I love all your craft projects on a beautiful summer’s day; your poppy garden is so pretty. Thanks Carina 😀🇳🇿
Thank you so much, Carolyn! The garden shots were closely cropped so only the poppies were visible because the rest of the garden is just a big mess!😂
It was lovely to watch, gave such a nice peaceful feeling. Thank you. What do you make with the hexagonal pieces?
Thank you, I'm happy you enjoyed it. ☺️ I do not really have a plan for the hexagons...
Love the trees!!
Thank you! 😀
Great video. Your fabric is so nice. Great designs. 😃
Thank you! 😊
Very nice and inspiring. I love green!👍😃
Thanks so much 😊 Me too! 💚
Hi Carina, I love your process, a great idea. I did a course once for work that showed a “mind map” as a great tool to remember things; works really well. I also remember a competition that I entered when I was about 15 yrs old. The question was “ what scent would you pick to bottle for perfume” and I said the “ scent of the earth after it rains” - I won! I love your Nature block, it turned out so well and your second block is going to be lovely as well. Well done! 😀🇳🇿
Thank you so much, Carolyn! I'm really enjoying this project. 😊 The scent of earth after rain would be a great scent to bottle. I wonder if anyone has tried doing that?😀
I have found that sometimes variegated yarns have stripes when knitted and are much better looking crocheted. The scarf is beautiful and so much time went into it. Can you use it to make an interesting bag or a pillow? I would throw it over my legs on a winter evening. If you frog it, fibers are invariably snagged together and you might have a lot of knots when you have to cut it to get it unsnagged. Maybe you could frog off the dark color you don't care for and connect the remaining ends for a cowl.
Thank you for the suggestions! The scarf is still waiting for me to decide what, if anything, I'm going to do with it! 😄
How beautiful. The stitching is so skilfully done. You might be a perfectionist.Thank you for sharing - so creative.
Thank you so much! 😊I'm not sure about being a perfectionist...😄
Would be nice if you showed us how to actually do it! instead of just showcasing it.
Well, it was made before I started sharing on UA-cam...
It’s gorgeous Carina; I didn’t know how you were going to do this but now I see it’s going to be a great project. How will you use it? Will it be a wall hanging or will you use it for a journal cover etc. Something to think about I guess. Well done, it’s lovely and bright. My husband and I are tree huggers! Just another thing that’s enjoyable in a garden. Cheers 🇳🇿😀
Thank you so much! I'm going to keep the final project under wraps for now. I hope it will be fun to see the final reveal at the end.😄 Will you join me? 😀
I will definitely keep watch to see how it turns out but in the meantime, I have a large quilt and three slow stitching projects on the go to get finished. It will go on my “Another project to try” list which is getting longer and longer……..😀🇳🇿
@@carolynmcneil5348 The never ending "another project to try" list!😂 P.S. I hope you got my email...maybe I should try sending from different a different account.🤔😁
Really enjoyed this process video. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!😊
I absolutely love what you do and how you generously share with us. I am getting sorted to begin.
Thank you! 😊 I'm glad you will join me! 😀
Thank you for sharing slowly ❤ and solid color inside, with outside colorful..FINALLY, I think I've got it❤ Absolutely beautiful fabric you designed!
Thank you!😊 I'm glad you found it useful. 😃

Thanks Carina, I’ve just sent an email in response😀🇳🇿
Got it!😃
Your dog is so relaxed....I can hear him snoring.......
That is what he does most of the time! 😀
I love your hat Carina, you’ve given me a great idea to fix my hat for next summer; it’s abit sad at the moment. Thank you 😀🇳🇿
Thank you, Carolyn! It's the perfect project to get sorted over the winter. Before you need the hat next summer! 😁 By the way, did you get my email? 😊
It’s gorgeous Carina, well done. 😀🇳🇿
Thank you, Carolyn! 😊
I absolutely love this 😍. I think I need to make some fabric collage things. Your work is absolutely gorgeous.
Aww, thank you! 😊 You definitely should!😃
What beautiful books you have made - this year and last 😍
Thank you so much!😊
Hi Carina, I love the pages you have made, so colourful therefore would love some scraps please if you are able to send to Australia. Will you also show us how you put the fabric pages into a book please, I would love to see. Thank you, you are very generous. 🇳🇿😀
Thank you, Carolyn! Yes, I'm happy to send you the scraps. Please email me your address carina@carinascraftblog.com 😊 There will not be a video about how to put the book together. But if you are interested, a video about that is included with the prompts I made for the 2023 100 day project: payhip.com/b/3DQzF
So pretty and I LOVE your daisy rings!! 😍😍😍
Thank you!! 😊 The daisy is Denmark's national flower so I like to think that I'm sending out some Denmark vibes when I'm wearing the rings. 😀
Such beautiful work!
Thank you so much!😊
Are you using a free motion foot?
Yes! 😁
All those pages would make a creative wall hanging. Great inspiration. 🎉
Thank you! 😊 That would be a fun idea too😀
I made two flannel quilts like this for my daughter in different colours and she loves them both. The pattern was called “stack and whack” and simple to make. I love the colours you have chosen, it’s a wonderful quilt. Well done! 😀🇳🇿
Thank you very much, Carolyn! 😊 "Stack and whack" is the perfect name for this type of quilt! Brilliant! 😀😀
One of the nicest quilts I have ever seen! ❤
Aww, thank you so much! 😊😊😊
Beautiful work❤️
Thank you! 😊
Thanks for this! I love how slow and gentle your videos are. How do you remove the papers when you're done? Will you make a video about that?
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😊 I hadn't thought about doing a video about removing the papers but maybe now I will, thank you for the suggestion! 😀
Spectacular!
Thank you!😊
Happy Birthday! I just passed mine at the end of April. ✨🎉✨
Thank you and happy birthday to you! April babies! 😀
So relaxing to watch. Thank you for the inspiration
Glad you enjoyed it!😊
Thank you for this very thorough video on sewing the liberty hexagons together and especially for the tip on choosing a paper not too thick to make it easier to fold the sewn hexagons back before starting to add the next one. This is a lovely project and you finished the hexagons so quickly. I’m looking forward to seeing the next step as well as so more of the hexagon quilt. 💖🧵🪡
Thank you very much, Sharon!😊 I hope I can get my little Liberty project done soon. And then maybe I'll start another one? Because the big hexagon project is taking a little break at the moment but I still have a hankering for making hexies!😄
That fabric is a joy to see with those colorful buttons. It makes me very happy. I'm struggling to learn my oh so beautiful new sewing machine
Thank you very much!😊
Thank you for sharing your needle book. Lovely
Thank you! 😊
Didn't know you make videos as well, new subscriber! ❤😂 BTW, these are so beautiful Carina!
Tack, Hanna!😀 Videos is a relatively new thing!😁
Absolutely beautiful!!!! I love your book!!
Thank you so much!😊
Love the colors and the chat.
Thank you!😊
What is the size of your base fabric? 😊
I think I cut the bases to 8.5" square. :-)
So darn cute! I love little houses too! Do you have any patterns for these or some dimensions to help us get started? Thanks!
Thank you! They are fun to make!😄 There is no pattern. I literally tip a bag of scraps out on my table and pick some scraps that I think will make nice little house...
Enjoyed this video and the history lesson! Looking forward to seeing the finished bunting!
Glad you enjoyed it. I was very tempted to edit out the history bit!😁
Those houses are so beautiful! I love your color combinations.
Thank you so much!😊
You could put a bit of velcro to hold pockets together. The book is very lovely!
Thank you!😃
I love them all ! Sabine
Thank you very much! 😀
Love this, especially the ones on the colored background.
@@kelliec1882 Thank you 😀
No words needed. Perfect hexagon tutorial. Thank you. ❤ Are you incorporating these into the hexagon quilt or are these for a different project? Also, thank you for your layout process. I ❤ your finished design.
Thank you so much, Sharon. I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😍 These hexagons are for a different project. Not sure what yet! The big hexies project is taking a little break for now... 😁
This is fun to watch. Thank you for sharing your beautiful project. From Alabama
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
Oh wow, so many hexies! Well done… and you need 2000? What a great project, love the fabrics. Looking forward to seeing the finished project. What a great effort. 😀🇳🇿
Thanks so much! 😊 I think I need around 2500 hexagons, so while to go yet! 😂
