Just regained my interest in pool at 31yrs if age, I’ve been shooting good at our local pool place, beat most of my coworkers. I kinda gained respect by taking Efren Reyes type of shots, but your videos make it possible to learn beyond that. Thank you 🙏🏼
I have China to thank for my proficiency at pool. In a previous job, I spent 18 months in Pudong, Shanghai. There was pretty much zip else to do in the evenings but go to the ex-pat pub "The Red Lion" in Weifang Lu, because at least pretty much everyone there spoke English. And they had an American 9-ball pool table. You played for the table. I brought the Joss JOS-55 and Stinger Break/Jump Cue I had bought from Pooldawg when working in Denver, CO along with me. Some of the locals were pretty good players, so I had to up my game if I wanted to maximise my table time. Fortunately, there was always someone _a little_ better than me, so I gradually improved. What a transformation when I returned home and went to the Victoria in Hitchin, my old pool haunt! I had always been rated a good player there, but I kicked arse for a while. I haven't played pool for years because of work commitments, but I really don't think the skills I learned in Shanghai would take long to re-emerge. I'm thinking right now of my old cue case back home because of your videos. Thank you for re-awakening my hunger for pool.
Roy Horbison if you have ears then should listen to him carefully He said in the video "my pockets are bigger than usual, please don't go insane in comment section, i know my pockets are big" 1:49 " Idiot.
pretty sure that 5:25 shot is not "pushing into the rail". if you can hit it, you banked it off the point. which also means you can cut it in (seeing as it cheats into the pocket). do you compete, or play against other players?
7:01 Don't play this shot with backspin, especially if you're not hitting it very hard. The effects of the backspin and lower power basically cancel each other out, and you can still scratch. Also, all the spin can come off before the cue ball makes contact, essentially making it a stun shot, which reduces accuracy and increases your chances of scratching.
I like all your videos - you seem very knowledgeable. Seems like your eyesight's pretty good, too. People who criticize your table are just looking for something to gripe about. Like griping fulfills their purpose. Lotta people like that online. Just waiting here for more, Dude. Poco tarde!
Have your pockets shimmed next time you re-felt. It will be harder to make shots, but you will be much better. Aim small, miss small. Keep up the great work!
I'd like to see you spend a little more time on the side pocket rail compression shot. It would be good to see the slow motion close-up, as well as a full speed view from further back to show your stroke and the power you put into it. I really like your videos. Very informative. I'm 48 years old and have been shooting pool for roughly 40 of those years, off and on. Mostly on. I have a lot of respect for your game and your dedication to it. You're a sharp stick. I'd like to shoot a few games with you if you're ever in Phoenix.
+Kev Irl it’s the same proportion to English tables. The balls are bigger on American tables, therefore there are bigger pockets. The balls are smaller on an English table, therefore there are smaller pockets

Dupree Trickshots although the larger the ball and pocket, it getss exponentially easier to pot. You will miss a hell of a lot more shots with 2cm ball in a 3cm pocket than a 2 inch in 3 inch pocket. Also both tables are the same size
@ 2:30 when you move the cue ball and hits the top rail, it jumps when it hits the rail. I've noticed it jump in other videos also, my cue ball also jumps when I try to bank a shot and sends the cue ball flying. Any idea what causes that to happen?
Several possibilities. Misaligned rails being too low or too high, all balls are not made to fit all tables, and the obvious too much top english on the ball.
Izzy G the balls jump all the time wen contact is made. It’s amazing to watch on super slow mo cameras. U can’t notice it with naked eye but over in uk especially in snooker they have super slow mos. Check it out u will be amazed
@4:25 - This is similar to shot #33 from Ray Martin's 99 Critical Shots in Pool. I prefer Martin's version, which is to hit the object ball dead center, very hard with draw. This fully compresses the tip of the pocket and the draw transfers follow on the object ball. Your version (hitting the object ball at an angle) relies more on cushion compression and wall angle. Hitting the object ball at an angle on this shot might not work on other tables, particularly black Diamond tables where the wall angle is unforgiving. Keep up the good work! Earn some cash on your videos on UA-cam and buy some new cloth :)
where did the cue ball end up when you drove the ball trough the point on the side pocket? you did a slow mo overhead but did not show the rest of the shot. ty
The spot shots are incorrect , I don't believe you should ever hit a ball that slow that would allow the table to take control of the cueball either draw it to the side with conviction or play a harder follow shot , as far as the long spot shot with the cue ball near the breaking spot is considered a half ball hit and will pocket the ball every time , lets say your next ball is on the short rail you can draw the cueball to the long rail and it will spin up to the short rail going towards the object ball as apposed to a soft shot that relies in a perfect table . I am not sure if you can google the 4 inch rule on you tube its amazing what that will teach you with spot shots . everything from billiards to caroms
Your really need to shim all 6 pockets up. They are ridiculous. Corner pockets you want about 4.25 to 4.5"... the most 4.5" not more. Look at a professional Diamond table.
Sure takes all the fun out of playing when you throw in all this over thinking..I started playing at 9 and low and behold the more fun I had becoming creative when in tough spots and magically I became pretty good...throw in all this technical mumbo jumbo is quite a joy kill.

Dupree can u get a headcam so it will be easier to see the shots from your angle.
Ty
Alberto Chavez Dude, the boy is 20yo. Don't expect too much of him.
ageist?
Also, I think it’s sometimes just a little bit hard seeing where every ball is, so possibly an arial view of the table could work??
Julius Erving jersey in the background! Love it!
Glad to see a young fella that is knowledgeable.hope ya get out and play tournaments etc. Thanks for the uploads
Great vid. Felt is looking a little rough and it looks like it pulled out of your feather strip on one of your rails. Time for a refelt 😉
Really appreciate your videos. Using them exclusively!
those side pockets are wider than my ex gf's legs were the night i caught her cheating on me
Roy Horbison if you have ears then should listen to him carefully

Syed Arham Ali 8bp -.- He was joking...
Syed Arham Ali 8bp u are the real idiot here.
Hồng Dương ok
I am idiot
Be happy
Syed Arham Ali 8bp
If he's an idiot, you're a dumbass
You are right about your side pockets. But everything in this video is great and useful. Thumbs up.
+Garrett Johnson I don't know why they made them so big. I'll get reducers soon
I really like the work you put in your videos and that's why i liek your videos
I like the wooden tiles on the walls that's awesome, it sorta goes with the pool table hand-in-hand
Great videos. Keep up the good work!
subscribed man. played pool 15 years ago back in college.and i remember having huge bets and makes the pocket a lot smaller psychologically lol
Sick Video! Super helpful and informative.
can you please make a video about the aiming technique/s you use? thanks
If no one‘s gonna mention it, I will. Aiming for those pockets is like throwing a hotdog down a hallway. Said it. Good work though, Dupree. :)
You really drop those balls on the table leaving nicks in the felt, I’ll bet mom and dad are paying for the recover.
I pay for refelting
Dupree Trickshots well then proceed as planned.
@ 4:50. How to would the 9 ball be set into the felt during regular play?
You can play bowling with those pockets and still manage to hit
pretty sure that 5:25 shot is not "pushing into the rail". if you can hit it, you banked it off the point. which also means you can cut it in (seeing as it cheats into the pocket).

Good job on this video🤘🏻
Awesome 👏🏼
do you do twitch streams? i think you should. give it some thought
I get it, the advantages in him being bare foot
I like all your videos - you seem very knowledgeable. Seems like your eyesight's pretty good, too. People who criticize your table are just looking for something to gripe about. Like griping fulfills their purpose. Lotta people like that online. Just waiting here for more, Dude. Poco tarde!
Robert Alderman the player is good the table is terrible
5:20 your glove seen better days that's for sure.
Yeah. Days or nights, it doesn't matter it's not like this kid goes outside...
Buy one, and send it to him then
I love the cue man
great advice, ty
A spot shot is whenever the ball you're shooting is on the spot. Wherever the cueball is it doesn't matter
very useful Dupree great video
Its awesome..... 👏👏👏
So much physics involved wow
Dope popcorn machine though
Bruh your table dirty lol but good vedio thanks😂
Big Madox u can't even spell
Have your pockets shimmed next time you re-felt. It will be harder to make shots, but you will be much better. Aim small, miss small. Keep up the great work!
YOOOO u can actually fit into the freakin pockets bruh lmao

very informational
What size of table is that, it looks bigger than 6ft
+Dgrimley 1 8 foot
What cue do you use?
Advices for beginners and amateurs
U got action all day kid😂💸💰
great information
Good video
American pool tables don't have pockets, they have buckets that are practically black holes to pool balls, it's impossible to miss.
+Kev Irl it’s the same proportion to English tables. The balls are bigger on American tables, therefore there are bigger pockets. The balls are smaller on an English table, therefore there are smaller pockets

Americans have bigger balls. Sorry
Dupree Trickshots brah search about "sinuca brasileira" there are really amazing little pockets;
@ 2:30 when you move the cue ball and hits the top rail, it jumps when it hits the rail. I've noticed it jump in other videos also, my cue ball also jumps when I try to bank a shot and sends the cue ball flying. Any idea what causes that to happen?
Izzy G raising your pool stick, aiming too low, aiming too high, miss cue
Several possibilities. Misaligned rails being too low or too high, all balls are not made to fit all tables, and the obvious too much top english on the ball.

Normally balls jump because of a build up of dust
Don't see an issue with your side pockets at all.....you're the one doing the tutorial NOT those who you are trying to help
You need to clean the felt on your table. Otherwise like you videos.
Jim Kane it doesn’t need a clean it needs a recover
Its expensive to recover it just needs a clean
No recover...
Does it drive anyone else crazy how rough he is with his cue and table??

inexpensive high-quality hearing aids
where did the cue ball end up when you drove the ball trough the point on the side pocket? you did a slow mo overhead but did not show the rest of the shot. ty
+tom a cue ball just went straight back 2 rails
all you have to do is practice a lot so you can realize pool is not for you
Do u play 8 ball pool ? On ur phone ?
Yes.
RicanShark 8bp yes
thepig999 8ball pool
RicanShark 8bp yes
The poket is so big
I will play you any day of the week.
Side pockets big af
You look like FaZe Blaziken
same thing i was thinking
just have issues with the camera work. OCD kicking in for me but otherwise, very usefull video
Nice vid
Red sofa is a mess
get a diamond table,however I'm still impressed
get a decent technique dude to avoid an in off with screw at 5:50
that shot at 5.30 would never work at snooker.
Jumping ball after rail strike means the rails need to be changed or the ball is slightly too large for the table.
Albert zaragoza my cushions are new. I'll try another ball size
Too large of ball is the most likely issue.
New felt on the rails will do this! After some play it will go away.
Or it means you put a massive amount of topsin with a downwards stroke for a special kind of jump trick.
Normally a build up of dust on the cushion
9 ball on rail past side pocket , cue on rail 1' from corner pocket.. hard to make , because off you hit the side pocket bumper..... plez show.
Hi welcome to Chili's!
I'm a pool player and these are the most sexiest shots I love them
The table looks bad. Whatever else might be said, he needs to replace the covering.

Is this guy better then he looks..
Hey I what to meet u bro my dad works for your dad
Must not care much for his stick....hitting it on the table like that...all the pockets look big on that table.
Your really need to shim all 6 pockets up. They are ridiculous. Corner pockets you want about 4.25 to 4.5"... the most 4.5" not more. Look at a professional Diamond table.
I swear i can beat you in real pool game,
basic tuitorials ,even bigginer can do that
Jibril Castillo 'bigginer'?
bio I wait challenge me in 🎱 I'm the best loser 😂 you are great I'm level 780 for real in not lieing
Sure takes all the fun out of playing when you throw in all this over thinking..I started playing at 9 and low and behold the more fun I had becoming creative when in tough spots and magically I became pretty good...throw in all this technical mumbo jumbo is quite a joy kill.
Good video.
Dude you are thin.
The Other Jeff so what? you think he doesn't know that? what's your point?
But he really is thin
If you learned anything from this video you're not a pool player.
