Faith also increases fire BNS, as said by the Dark Souls 2 wiki: The damage of pyromancies is determined by the spell and the Pyromancy Flame. Pyromancies scale off of intelligence and faith, specifically off the Fire BNS stat, which scales with INT and FTH at the same rate.
Why did they change the stat names so drastically in DS2? I can understand adding stats like adaptability, but why change the meaning of vitality and endurance so much but keep the names the same, and then create a new stat for what vitality used to be?

You missed something! Attunement also raises your Agility but less than ADP
Knowing those break points is actually key. Diminishing returns on stats can really waste points.
