They do already. They _are_ limited on what they can say. So if they do say something, you can assume it’s something that is either: already publicly discoverable, or they’ve been authorized to disclose what they have. If they’ve broken that protocol, best believe there would be repercussions.

And we have SEAL Admirals writing books, getting consulting jobs to Raytheon and Lockheed Martin. Flag SEAL Officers get 6 and 7 figure consulting jobs in the defense industry. Multiple movies instigated by the same admirals and supported by the Navy. This where we need to start.
It's unfortunate from what I've heard is leadership failures in the SEAL teams during operations and downtime. There have been many issues of drug abuse, alcoholism and shady practices by SEALS. Some SEALs, not all, have let the trident grow their ego where they have forgotten why they joined the Teams in the first place. Some of the ego driven behavior has gotten Sailors killed. Compare this culture to Delta, PJs, Special Forces, Raiders or Combat Controllers and you start seeing the changes needed in the SEAL teams. Special Operations do amazing work but it takes a toll on marriages, family life and the human mind. There must be a better infrastructure and support for mental health
Trump's interference with the prosecuting of Chief Eddie Gallagher did so much harm to the teams. Letting a psycho killer off even after all this guy's teammates stepped up was jawdropping. They will be cleaning up the mess for a generation.
For sure erodes trust... and the war crimes that just create terror attacks... basically the USA self harming it`s self... a never ending loop that other countries have to bare also... the only way to slow it down or recover trust is to scale back operation's overseas return troops back to the USA from other non combat areas etc... if it carries on something will happen and after that point people will look at the USA as an enemy not a friendly.... the USA has been walking on a very fine line for years looks like `s being called out in the open....
@@seanhokanson4115 You've got this one wrong. It doesn't take a warrior to stab an incapacitated child soldier. Gallagher put his platoon's lives at risk to make a name for himself on multiple occasions. If there was a personal feud between Gallagher and his teammates, there was good reason for them to hate him. I've always said SEALS shouldn't be revealing their identities for profit, with speaking engagements and book deals. You will never hear about the true heroes or know who they are.
it’s because they shot him in the face so much he was unidentifiable, they did the tomahawk head thing that splits it open that they enjoy doing. The photos were too gruesome and unidentifiable, it was completely against orders to do that too.
I was an infantry team leader in Ramadi during the invasion and subsequent occupation. We worked a couple missions with SEALS. We’d basically act as extra security and cordon off blocks for them to operate inside. We were rent-a-cops for them. Their vehicles arrived before they’d arrive, and they had an advance party that went around and told us not to bother them or engage with them when they got there. Then they’d hop in and we’d do the mission. They acted like celebrities. We patrolled those streets in 120deg heat, all day and all night, with 80lbs of gear. I lived in a rat infested stables with no doors, no windows, no power, and no running water. We slept on the floor and three MREs a day. They swoop in, do a mission, and swoop out back to the rear with the gear.
Thats how infantry goes though man. That’s the job. I can’t speak to them “acting like celebrities,” I wasn’t in the American military, but grunt work is thankless. It’s constant guard duty lol.

To play devils advocate: 1) imagine how much Navy recruitment has increased because of all the books and movies and notoriety. I’ve seen it first hand with very incredible and intelligent people.... sometimes people feel a grudge against other’s who achieve fame or money. It’s natural.
SEALs, need to return to their roots; where every man was a Sailor First and had a job rating and did an initial enlistment before being able to Attend/tryout for BUDS/the teams. Microwaving SEALs and not building a solid foundation is what started these problems.
Behavioral analysis: many elite combat operatives have subclinical psychopathy or on occasion clinical psychopathy which in combat is helpful due to reduced emotional reactivity and fearless dominance as it allows them to stay calm and functional during activities considered normally antisocial but under combat conditions considered necessary and prosocial. Psychopaths have three goals: power, pleasure, and profit. The navy seals who are cashing in are psychopathic and achieving one of their goals which contradicts the goals of the navy seal community.
Navy SEALs should be humble men. They do their job well and without recognition. They do it in secret and they do it for America. That is the life of a SEAL

@@macmcleod1188 Ok I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. This isn't a "I don't agree" or anything to do with opinions. This is just basic facts on the Navy SEALs. They are trained how they are trained. You can't have an opinion on how they are trained, that's something that's a fact. You can have your opinion on HOW they should be trained, but the way they are trained is a fact. You can't just disagree that it's not done that way. And don't even try to tell me I'm wrong, I've spent countless hours researching this topic because a Navy SEAL is exactly what I want to become. Were I a SEAL, and participated in this raid, I would have no right to take credit as I was just following orders
In the time of duty, soldiers are meant to be soldiers, not marketable creators of their actions without authorization by those they serve (the U.S. Government and military officials).
That admiral (Wyman Howard) speaking to congress was the former CO of Red Squadron (the squadron within ST6 that executed the Bin Laden raid). He practically encouraged a lot of the insanity that went on there during the height of the GWOT.
I did some therapeutic respiratory therapy with a Seal some years ago, these were exactly his sentiments also. As a gamer myself, I've often wondered just how much further ahead of games were the real thing, as far as Im aware, there are no or very little Russian or Chinese tactical video games with fairly detailed operations and controls which might have some -or a lot of- crossover with reality and tradecraft. Its a tough call, as games have been a boon to Military recruitment.
No one wants their child to grow up to become a trained killer but America doesn't seem to know how to produce "entertainment" that doesn't consist of overt violence, raunchy sex and alcoholism. The military produces exceptional killers which does not always translate well when soldiers attempt to be stable and loving spouses or parents, since violence, sexual assault and alcoholism seems to be byproducts of the military experience.

Good thing this is coming to the public light. The BUD/s selection phase might not catch these sort of candidates early, it's periodic peer evaluations when the men have made it down to the teams, that can truly show their real behaviors & I think ithis s where top management can step in and weed the bad eggs out.
As a navy veteran, my knowledge recalls All the leaks and show boating stared with video game and movie input by prior and current Socom members.. By far the looses lipped group has to be seals.. Talking and having worked with delta and other Socom operators they all say the Seals were the least professional group to work with.. For various reasons, the main issue many operators felt the seal selection process was the main issue.. The fact the Navy will take a 18-19 year old kid right out of boot camp, run him through training then release them into the world with the perception of being a super hero.. This is not the case for the other operator groups.. The selection process is completely different. Until the navy fixes theses issues, the systemic issues will continue.

Those guys who put out the information on the Navy Seals should be punished for violating the trust of the service and the nation by speaking out like they did. We all know that what you did in the military could still be classified even though we are no longer in that service.
Good Seals call out the bad seals Why is it so hard for the police to do.
Because secretly they are the most sensitive, victimhood mofos out there the biggest of snowflakes crybabies and if one of their own goes against the status quo’s they get casted out and most of them can’t fathom being a lone wolf

Can the Navy make it mandatory to sign a non-disclosure agreement B4 officially becoming a navy seal? At the very least there should be an amount of time which must pass before anybody in any branch of the military can disclose information about missions they were on. For everybody and every branch of the military watching and reading the comments thank you for your service!
zap Great idea, completely agree.
I appreciate our fellow military for their services but to much table talk will cause a loss especially while playing spades I think it’s something that should only be spoken to within our community not our country not other countries how will we ever conquer if we’re giving up our playing hand
I think they have to take a oath of secrecy when they become seals.
Why not type out the word before instead of B4. It makes no sense.
They do already. They _are_ limited on what they can say. So if they do say something, you can assume it’s something that is either: already publicly discoverable, or they’ve been authorized to disclose what they have. If they’ve broken that protocol, best believe there would be repercussions.
The navy defends America in a huge way, we need everyone clear minded when it comes to something so important. Respect to these guys who spoke up
Wow. Amazing journalism. I love Catherine and her breakdown of the issues being uncovered. Very dignified and full of integrity a true mirror to the good Seals willing to come forth.
Robert Oneil is the one who should be punished for gaining fame and fortune for telling his story and tactics in countless interviews, TV/online segments, and motivational arena speeches, and story books. I was surprised when all of this information was being released as entertainment.
It was Obama who went out and BROADCAST to the world that we got Bin Ladin. O'neil had the green light afterwards. And if your believe that BS, that they shoved his dead body out over the ocean???
@Divine 85 Erin WHY did he tell everyone? Could it be b/c it was an election year? Obumer just gave the Taliban a reason to retaliate. How dumb can you get???
@Divine 85 Erin When a Seal is doing his job right, you should NEVER even know they were there.
@Divine 85 Erin You are correct, Bin Laden came-up under Bill Clinton's watch, and he had 3 solid opportunities to get him. The first time, the Saudi Family called, they had him in prison. All Bill had to do was go get him. But Clinton was so pathetic, he couldn't even do that. So, Bill Clinton owns 9/11. KNOWYOURFACTS
An ad for the TV show "Seal Team" is directly below this video. If there is money to be made, with no consequences, it will continue happening.
Not to mention they’re slandering and ruining the lives of guys like Eddie Gallagher and Aaron Howard.

❤️These HONORABLE men. I have always wondered why we would give up our security secrets? That is so dangerous. What other Country exposes this? None.
Lol...Obama's administration released this mission to write a book. It happen over a decade ago stop it🤦♂️
For sure erodes trust... and the war crimes that just create terror attacks... basically the USA self harming it`s self... a never ending loop that other countries have to bare also... the only way to slow it down or recover trust is to scale back operation's overseas return troops back to the USA from other non combat areas etc... if it carries on something will happen and after that point people will look at the USA as an enemy not a friendly.... the USA has been walking on a very fine line for years looks like `s being called out in the open....
@@seanhokanson4115 According to who?
@@seanhokanson4115 You've got this one wrong. It doesn't take a warrior to stab an incapacitated child soldier. Gallagher put his platoon's lives at risk to make a name for himself on multiple occasions. He admitted that he led his platoon in torture and war crimes just a couple weeks ago on the podcast The Line. If there was a personal feud between Gallagher and his teammates, there was good reason for them to hate him. Gallagher and his legal team railroaded the careers of other SEALs and JAGs who were just trying to do their jobs and uphold the law. When you say corruption, are you talking about the efforts by the prosecution to uncover and stop illegal information leaks and witness intimidation by Eddie's legal counsel? www.military.com/daily-news/2021/05/05/gallagher-claims-seal-platoon-agreed-practice-medical-procedures-dying-prisoner.html
It sadden me to know that true service men is dedicated to defend the American constitution just so that those will sell their souls and tarnish loyalty to capitalize on selfish gain.
I've always said SEALS shouldn't be revealing their identities for profit, with speaking engagements and book deals. You will never hear about the true heroes or know who they are.
When dealing with monsters, beware you don’t become one.

Thanks for interviewing these murderers.
Navy Seals movie with Charlie Sheen came out three decades ago and now they feel compromised. Really.
Damn...
Thats how infantry goes though man. That’s the job. I can’t speak to them “acting like celebrities,” I wasn’t in the American military, but grunt work is thankless. It’s constant guard duty lol.

To play devils advocate:
1) imagine how much Navy recruitment has increased because of all the books and movies and notoriety. That’s a good thing.
2) There is UNDENIABLY a very human tendency to feel things like envy or jealousy of others’ fame or money. IM NOT SAYING THESE PEOPLE SPEAKING OUT IN THIS INTERVIEW ARE JEALOUS.... but it’s possible. Even SEALs aren’t above such basic human emotions.

I have no problem with Navy Seals capitalizing on the raid they participated in. They earned the right to capitalize on the raid.
Navy SEALs should be humble men. They do their job well and without recognition. They do it in secret and they do it for America. That is the life of a SEAL
@@tyson_3301 I'm sorry but I don't agree. I don't think they should violate any top secret information and I believe that they already face legal penalties if they do that.
Outside of that if they want to make appearances or appear in commercials or write books oh, I think they aren't the right to do so by their service to the country.
If you are coming to space on some kind of legal standard then I completely agree with it but if it's just your personal opinion then we hold different opinions.

If a SEAL is doing his job right, you should NEVER know they were there.

Oh hey Eric, Don and Jeff 😂 they should have used a voice changer that was much better.

Thanks for your perspective, I never thought about it that way
