U.S. industry has been moving overseas for cheaper manufacturering since the 1950s. That's what happens when the U.S.D became the world's reserve currency. The laws of supply and demand occurred. U.S. exchange rates to other currencies is much stronger. Meaning it became cheaper to import in weaker currencies but, it made U.S. exports more expensive for foreign countries to buy U.S. goods. In a capitalist way of thinking, volume makes things cheap. If U.S. only consumes U.S. made goods, it would still be expensive to export. Other countries will still go to the cheaper option. Manufacturering can't reach the capacity to complete with China on the global market.
@@mdiesel23 You are correct but this will go over the heads of the masses that can barely comprehend how and why the USA lose its manufacturing might and imports heavily. It's going to interesting times ahead.
@Phukugoooglification Yeah. China artificially keeps there exchange rates down and still use the developing nation status to their benefit. They're clever. While the U.S. engaged in foreign wars particularly in the Middle East for like the last 30 years, China forced foreign countries into joint ventures in order to do business in China. They kept working hard and developed business relationships. Did the BRI, went into countries like Iraq and Afghanistan for resources for construction deals. They did it all over Africa and moved into South America. Now the U.S. is playing catch up on the global stage.

To address *Chinese 🇨🇳 unfair trade practices* and trade imbalances, President Trump is mandated to impose at least 60% tariffs on all Chinese products. - In addition, Mr. Trump will force China to honor its signature for the Phase-1 agreement.
A little too late. China actually doesn't need U.S. IP anymore. 60% tariffs doesn't do anything towards China export. They invested heavily in the last 15 years into the BRI to open up exports to the Global South. As a matter of fact China stepped into Afghanistan and Iraq for massive infustructure for resources projects after the U.S. pulled out.
