  • In this episode of Case Bites, Dr. Rick Roblee’s patient presents with a simple request; “I want my teeth to match the rest of me.” An examination, imaging, and a health history intake indicate microdontia, traumatic malocclusion, retrusive teeth, excess soft tissue, mandibular entrapment, a traumatic and unstable intercisal relationship, a deep bite, and a small airway, as well as headaches and episodes of clinical sleep fragmentation during the night.
Dr. Roblee presents his proposed treatment plan with the team, an interdisciplinary group including prosthodontists, a periodontist, an orthodontist, and a cosmetic dentist. Dr. Roblee proposes pre-restorative surgically facilitated orthodontic therapy (SFOT), selective corticotomies with hard and soft tissue grafting, osseous recontouring with esthetic crown lengthening, clear aligner therapy, minimally invasive intra-enamel preparations, and labial veneer restorations. Listen in as the team discusses the case and debates next steps.
