I currently use a Fuji GSW690 III rangefinder with fixed 65mm f/5.6 lens for landscape, architecture, and large group portraits. My camera body produces a 6x9cm image on 120 medium format film. My lens is equivalent to a 28mm on a full-frame body. I have been waiting for Fuji to produce a medium format digital rangefinder similar to my Fuji medium format film camera.
I've been thinking lately it'd be fun to see digital versions of Fujifilm's old "Texas Leica" 6x8cm rangefinders with 65mm and 90mm fixed lenses. I always wanted those cameras but opted for a Pentax 67 instead.
I thought the same at first but I think it has to do with the crop functions on the camera since it´s a fixed lens model. The 100MP sensor matches the integrated crop-zoom lever function better for me.
The 50R was a banger. But after renting it I didn't like the ergonomics so eventually went with the OG 50s instead when I wanted to get into the Fuji GFX system.
One of the key benefits of a Leica M mount is the compact size. Given the size of the GF lenses they will never compete with the M mount. A fixed lens 100 MP MF camera seems odd.
Running and gunning is the way it is all going and you are saying NO Stabilization. Tripod laws are coming up in every city worldwide "No TrIpod". and also guys with a camera will soon need a license to shoot outside.
Assuming the pre-production images are correct, it's not a rangefinder. And that sensor has a photodiode pitch of 3.76µm Your audience may be impressed...
First things first, if it doesn’t have a rangefinder patch it’s not a rangefinder. Just like the Leica Q series of cameras are NOT rangefinders. This Fujifilm camera, if it happens, will be a digital medium format version of the X100VI. Fujifilm hasn’t made a true rangefinder since they were making film cameras. That said, they need to just come out with the X-Pro 4 already and stop with these experimental cameras. The problem with making a fixed lens GFX camera is going to be the physical size of the lens, the heat dissipation, and its price. As a long-time Fujifilm shooter, Fujifilm is slipping. I’m a Leica M shooter as well and there’s not comparison.
This will not bother Leica in the slightest- I shoot both Fuji and Leica amongst others- they all have their place and their fanboys. Fuji and Leica aren’t chasing top slot for sales, Canon, Sony and Nikon have far more money to waste 😵
No IBIS ....F4 ... And look I love Fujifilm cameras. I have three different Fujifilm cameras including two medium format cameras but I don't like the idea of this at all. I know they've suspended the production of the 50 megapixel sensor which I can understand because Sony make that sensor but if they had gone back to Sony and said look could we design a new 50 megapixel sensor with ibis with an F2 .8 lens imagine this camera it could've even been 40 megapixels but this is just dumb dumb dumb and dumb dumber...... and I'm not gonna bag the company for doing different stuff because I like Fujifilm and I make good money in my photography out of Fuji cameras but I just don't understand the thinking of why I make 100 megapixel sensor without ibis that just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. I'm sure the working side of the camera and how it feels in the hand and the text and the look of it will be fantastic but at the end of the day shooting in low light with an F4 lens you're going to be having compromises all the time with that specification given that it's medium format I shoot Imodium format all day every day. I understand the system really well now and what it's capable and there are so many times when IBIS is your friend?
If you own medium format cameras then you should know that F4 is nearly a F2.8 equivalent on a medium format sensor.. They most likely had to go F4 and no IBIS to keep the size down on the lens and keep it compact.. so how did medium format users get by the past 50 years without IBIS ?
@@johnsoncityaerialphotograp7201 they use tripods!! alot!! The GFX 100s ii ..... I shoot 95% handheld now they virtually is no need for a tripod. That's a good thing. Trust me.
The Hasselblad new v-series lenses are f2. 8, but really small and light, yet well built. So I'd say the compact lenses at f/2.8 can be done, on this size sensor.
@@---us7qf28/4p superb light and small. And 38/2,5v is very compact and light 👌. 55v also superb. Funny that fuji optics make this lenses for hasselblad
The fUjifilm is good but stupid people in it for deciding the lenses and what they do. I am pretty sure after 2 or 3 generation then they will put IBIS :) I have used GFX since it was announced ;)

I always wanted the Pentax 645
possible release dates?
Entered, nice work!
Make the 50MP version please. I can't use 100MP. Have no need for it

Would have preferred a full frame 35mm XPRO version. 100 mp on a fixed lens camera is a bit rediculous but I suppose they are going for leica Q market
Happy Baby Friday, Joe!

too many megapixels
Depends what you do. But usually, yes.
Fuji is not a Leica and will never be…
