I find your UA-cam videos incredibly helpful. I’m a self taught amateur upholsterer from the UK. Your videos are the best I’ve found . Thank you Sarah

You highlighted all the mistakes I made with my first chair...but now I'll do better on the second, so thank you.

Thank you SO much! I took adult school classes with an excellent teacher, and I've been upholstering for customers for many years, but still was having trouble with the cuts. I needed this video! Bless you!

Thank you for that. I really think I got it finally. Believe it or not it’s what’s stops me from working on furniture for people with expensive fabric. I usually work on furniture I find or my family’s furniture. I have messed up on my own furniture using good fabric.

Excellent instructions on what I experienced as a difficult piece with a tight back bar over the rear seat & curved cut that I attempted to. This would've made my job soooo much easier & less frustrating. THAK YOU!

6:00 and 10:40 are where the most helpful info came in for me. This could be in a textbook. I wish I watched this before I ruined my last batch of custom printed fabric!

Thank you for your helpful videos. Just about the time I think about a question, you always seem to come through with an answer. I am working on a French cabriole chair. It's an antique, has its horse hair, hand carved and it is a pretty chair. Question: I am looking for a video that teaches cutting on a chair where there is a post (pretty good size post) dead center in the back and at the usual back corners. I have been practicing with scraps of materials to figure out the cutting, but the stapling and pulling at the front when the back is not stapled in the center is a challenge!! Any suggestions? Thank you for sharing your wonderful knowledge! Julie

Wow! what a great instructional video and teacher! I'm not done watching video but I had to comment. Thank you so much! I live in California, so ill be looking into online classes, although Im such a hands on learner, but like you said maybe I can get something cheap to practice on. Thank you again!

That's beautiful Kevin! Love the front double pleat. Do you trim the edges with a razor?

Ive watched this ten times doing an almost exact same chair, and no matter what I do, I have too much fabric bunched in the back and sides. I wish I knew what shape fabric he started with and what size.

I always have my students do stay tacks to hold everything then make practice cuts on scrap fabric laid over and folded.
If they get it right they just lay it over the good fabric below for referrence... Takes the scariness out of learning cuts! Lol

These videos are so helpful. Cutting is definitely the scary part and I would love to see you demonstrating a whole range of cuts. You make it look too easy 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️.

If you want that fabric to be even on both sides of the post....why not eyeball it first, from the back....and strike a line in your mind on the fabric that is on the seat....
