The most aestetic and powerfull cycling athlete ever seen, up there with Coppi and Merckx. He was just sheer class and so beautiful to watch. Especially in the tts, it was incredible. Ullrich was like a diver, totally cut off from this world, erasing the superhuman effort he was making. I have never seen anything alike since then.

I really miss the old days of Jan and Lance. That's around when I first started watching cycling.... If things continue as they've been going for the past year, I'll probably be on our first Olympic Cycling team since the 60's. I went to the Commonwealth Gams this year and though I didn't do as well as I'd have liked, I can see remarkable improvement in my cycling over last year.

Schade nur, dass er von Anfang an "klar Tisch gemacht hat!. Hatte ich damals erwartet anno 2006 und war sehr enttäsucht. Ulle in "normalen" Zeiten wäre nahezu unbesiegbar gewesen. Nun ist er nur noch eine gefallener Star, eine Lachnummer. Nicht für mich. Er ist ein ganz feiner Kerl rein menschlich.

Es gibt aktuell keinen Fahrer, der Jan auch nur annähernd - sowohl stilistisch als auch von der Kraft her - das Wasser reichen kann. Jans Fahrstil ist ein Fest für die Augen, Souplesse in höchster Vollendung. Einfach nur traumhaft schön.

When talking weight vs aerodynamics, yes the normal wheels are lighter in most cases because for time trialing aerodynamics is more important than the few grams of weight you might save with the lighter less aero wheels. Weight is more important in longer stages that are more mouontainous that the average time trial stage. The extra surface area and material that usually makes up most aerowheels increases the weight, but reduces the wind drag caused by turbulance.
