    My favorite part about Davion this year was how he consistently improved as the season progressed. It makes me very optimistic about his ceiling. I'm loving Monte's best player available approach to the draft so far. Here's hoping he can add another gem with this year's lottery 🤞🙏

    I love the work you do on this channel. 10 minutes of substance and concrete points made with film evidence shown all throughout. So many other channels fill their run-time with all fluff just citing numbers they found somewhere and running with narratives that they hope their audience already sort of believe in anyway to sound like they have an actual point to make. Those would be all too easy to script and edit with random highlights playing on loop in the background in order to fill out an upload schedule with empty calories.
    The effort and attention to detail you put in these videos deserve more attention in my opinion. I hope the Kings repay your hard work with a winning season and an influx of interest in legit Kings basketball content 🙏

      Thank you man, really means a lot! The market for Kings content was really lacking when it came to film analysis, so I just do my best to help others out in the process. The support is much appreciated, a lot of work goes into this!

    The way he matches and mirrors the player with the ball is incredible. It's almost like he reacts to their move at the exact same time they start the move.

    I love Davion, it’s always great to see these defensive minded players get recognition. I’m a 76er fan and see the defensive impact of Matisse Thybulle nearly every possession, but Davion is a lot better offensively and doesn’t go for big unnecessary plays on defense like Matisse does. Davion has so much potential still even if he’s one of the older guys from the draft this past year. Great video and love the analysis 🙌

      I could easily see davion being an all star like a kyle lowry has been. His work won't go unnoticed

    • @thenorthremembers728
      @thenorthremembers728 2 роки тому

      @@thetrib1 He's already a way better on ball defender than Lowry ever was and he's getting comfortable running an offense. If he can have a 18-21 ppg while also locking people down he can easily be an all star.

    the great thing about Davion is that he's such a good defender that the players he guards shoot 41% from the field. the problem is that he himself shoots 39%.
    If he can make himself a below average offensive player, he could have a long career as a smaller version of Marcus Smart.

    It was no fluke when Baylor defeated Gonzaga..in the national championship.. Gonzaga was undefeated.. Mitchell disrupted that offense and Baylor won..WHY.?? It was the defense of Mitchell. Now the kings do not play him enough.. We need Mitchell in the starting lineup..

    Ladies and gentlemen this is the reason why Hali was traded. No knock to Hali but when you have a guy that has that dog in him it’s hard to pass up on it! Offensive skills can be overrated at times and can be learned or improved over time but you can’t learn heart and just that dog in you it has to be in you already. His defense abilities along with the will to compete and play hard is what’s gotten him this far and he’s a student of the game he goes and learns and takes nothing for granted I think he’s untouchable right now unless there’s an insane type of trade offer for him he’s a king! I remember my first game watching him at Baylor and I rarely watch all of the sports games or tune in for that matter well I checked out Baylor game and they were going up against I believe to be Texas and what I saw instantly was this guy has it! He’s a dog and I love defense and it’s contagious he’s going places so I followed more throughout the year and boom they when it all. And then he gets drafted to my kings was a shock but definitely was intrigued to see how they utilize him! I think with the new look and more defensive minded team we may be looking at a very deep run into the 2nd round of the playoffs hopefully everyone stays healthy and works hard.

      ur lost 💀 no matter how hard davion works on offense, he will never be HALF the offensive player of a 3rd year haliburton...you CANNOT teach haliburtons skill set on offense. Hali is a 20 and 10 dude with 40% from 3 and just under 50% from fg. That offensive production BY FAR out weighs mitchells defense. Mitchell might be the best on ball defender in basketball, but thats all he is, a defender, and that doesnt make u better than a player that has top 10 offensive production in hali 💀 add onto the fact that hali is a better defensive player than davion is offensive player, the gap widens EVEN MORE. Check davions offensive production bro, it STINKS. He is a great role player, but hali is a star. Dont ever compare the two. Somehow davions offense is even worse than last year... 💀 bro u are a clown. "U cant teach heart and that dog has to be in you" so any player that doesnt have as much heart as davion isnt as good? 💀 yeah u dont know ball. Davion has heart, so does hali... davion does nothing better besides on ball defense compared to hali, and davion beats anyone in that category. You're comparing a role player (davion) to a superstar (hali). L

    3 of the pass 5 top 5 picks for the kings have actual been good picks. Fox, Cousins, Murray. only missing on Doncic (4 other teams missed) Bagley and Lilard (2 other teams missed also) Robinson. After the top 5 picks the chance of picking an all star talented player drops off considerably (its pretty much a crap shoot). To be fair even if Sacramento drafted said players (except maybe Doncic) they probably not gonna do well in Sac anyways. best to get drafted by who they drafted them.

    Honestly it's why I didn't want the kings to draft davion. He's a starter. I think he would've been in rookie of the year talk. Seeing him with tyrese changed my opinion about it. He seems like a lead by example type guy.

      Bagley’s beating Niang to the elbow before Davion even digs(and Davion with his lack of size probably shouldn’t be helping off most of the high level ballhandlers he’s guarding from one pass away at least)

    • @KingsFilmRoom
      @KingsFilmRoom  2 роки тому +2

      appreciate it, and looking back at it, it isn't nearly as bad as I originally thought. I would still say it's a poor closeout, as there wasn't much room to cover and Niang's first step gets him into the paint. But you're right, he wasn't killed like I said
