Hi all! Just wanted to share that I’m doing a painting livestream next Saturday at 2pm BST for everyone to join! It will be here on UA-cam, via the ‘Live’ tab with a replay available after. I’ll pop a community post up in the next couple of days too. Hope to see you there! 🤗💛
I really like hearing your thoughts on using different sketchbooks with wet media. The first page layout is inspiring with the logo and writing - lovely relaxing landscape too Tracing paper works well to slip between pages to help with smudging, it’s thinner and so less bulk Lovely warm desert painting and the Christmas card designs are cute and I stently made me feel chilly 🥶 so I grabbed my cardigan 😅 Cool collage effect with blackbird 🐦⬛ Oooow I like this idea waxwing and Robin pages Yes I like the lines and wonderful to use eyeliner! 😅 cool idea I must try too. Warm beach painting , lovely clear sea 🌊 Tulips, coffee and a baked goodness ✅ I like the swatches you add, I keep forgetting to do this. Pegs! Awesome idea I like this idea because they are at different angles and positions Lovely art supplies arrangement:-) That’s a lovely bouquet of flowers 💐 The tins and pasta packet look so realistic :-) You paint lovely landscapes - I try to add the smaller distance details buts do difficult, you achieve it brilliantly. Yes I like this diary layout spread - my daily journal I gave up with last year as the style bored me but your style I think because the sketchbook is larger makes it more interesting for me. Oh the mountain Goat 🐐 😍 fab half a sketchbook creation video 👍
Aaah thank you so much Rebecca! Funnily enough I've not touched this sketchbook in ages as I've moved on from my watercolour phase 🤣 But I know I'll return back to it when I'm ready! So glad you enjoyed seeing all the pages 🥰
I love your sketchbook spreads Katie, they are always so varied and vibrant and although I have never journaled, I really love those pages😍 I bought the Goldline art journal after your recommendation and have really enjoyed using it. Mind you I haven’t been able to create very much in the past few months due to lots of life stuff getting in the way but your videos and Patreon uploads are definitely keeping me inspired and sane, so as always thank you for sharing🙏🏼
So many beautiful pages, your sketchbook tours are always super inspiring to watch 😄🩷 I definitely need to get a watercolour sketchbook to practice in 😊
Loved going through this beautiful sketchbook with you Katie! My favorite page is that Mountain Goat! Lol! Now I’m going to try to find it on your UA-cam! PS: Don’t think I didn’t notice those fish tins!!🥰
Hahaha thank you so much Kathy! An -almost- fish free sketchbook tour 🤣 The Mountain Goat video is from a Q+A! I've linked the video in the description now 🥰
@@KatieMoody …. Thanks about the goat link Katie, yes an almost fish free video but even I have to admit, the fish had to be in there! Loved all the animals you put in 😍
Oooh I adore them all! Specially the tulips and the Mother's day spread. Too gorgeous! As always you're so inspirational and I love you and admire your art so much! 💖✨️
You have no idea how proud of myself I am for recognizing that it was a hobonichi cover before you mentioned it was a hobonichi cover you drew 🤣 beautiful sketchbook!!
Beautiful sketches ❤ I’m happy to find out you combine journaling and sketching. I’ve recently started to do that myself but I’m a bit terrified of sharing them online.
Thank you so much! I totally understand that, there are some things I know I wouldn't write simply because I share my sketchbooks on the internet, but you could always have a private one that is just for you 🥰
@@KatieMoodythank you. I think that might be the way forward. I’m so happy you share your art. I love seeing it. Right now I mainly use procreate and hide the layers with private journaling. It works ok.
Lovely sketchbook tour, Katie. Thank you for sharing it with is. How would you compare the Claire Fontaine SB with your Strathmore 500? Do you like one better and if so, why?
Thank you Lisa! The Strathmore holds mixed media a bit better I think, I can be quite rough and load the paper up with a lot of water and it handles everything I throw at it! The Claire Fontaine sketchbook has the different textures on the papers too, whereas the Strathmore is the same throughout and isn't as rough (so better for refined pencil detail). The Strathmore is more expensive though so I do feel a bit more precious in it compared to the Claire Fontaine!
Such a lovely insight, Katie, thanks so much! I always love sketchbook tours. I have a question regarding your Christmas card: Did you repaint the image for the finished product or did you scan your sketch and add the additional details (such as the stars and the clouds) digitally?
Thank you so much, Sonja! Oh yes, good question! So I scanned it in as it was, and then adjusted and added to it digitally using Photoshop and Procreate 🤗
Hi Katie! I really enjoyed watching this video! I love your work and its vibrancy❤ At around 5.28 you mentioned something like Flexisport when showing the paintings of two birds. What did you mean by this? Is this a kind of paint? Thanks you!
Hello, thank you so much for watching and commenting! Ah yes, apologies for being unclear! Flexispot was a brand I worked with as they sent me my desk! I took some photos for Instagram and wanted a painting in my sketchbook to include in the set up so I could show the desk in use 😊
@@KatieMoody ah haha! I understand! I was hoping it would be a new brand of some sort of creative material 😆 but a desk sound more likely to fit the name haha!
