I love starting with blobs of color before going in to do the lines!! Especially with animals, it’s super helpful for keeping things in proportion Also I love all the different pens you showed off!! I’ve never heard of pen shows before and now I want to go to one so bad 😭
it's so niiice, I like that it keeps me kinda loose too before getting too tied up in detail thank yoUU they're good fun ngl, I didn't realise there were so many pen/nib types and it's a hella rabbit hole
By you posting your urban sketchers drawings early this january you made me realize the existence of this group(?) and I've discovered there's an active group in my city and drawing with them is lovely, we had a session today and it's just to ugh
Chloe, I’ve so enjoyed your flip through, and am amazed at how beautiful your Journal is! I’m just starting an Art Journal with no experience in drawing. Probably will be a Mixed Media Journal more. Thanks so much for showing me your work. ❤
Yay another sketchbook tour!! Huge fan of those seals and birds. I absolutely loved watching the last one, I'd sometimes rewatch it by putting it in the background while I draw
WOW im in love with your style and so enoyed watching this and seeing all your sketches - so inspiring as I struggle so hard to capture how my cats look while keeping the sketches loose. Definitely coming back to this video for references. Thanks so much!
I’ve been a fan of you since 2022 and like honestly man you’re amazing. I watch you whenever I need inspiration plus I love your art style and even helped me learn about rigs in your toom boom video. I love your little drawings and they are just so precious and nice to look at. Thank you and keep up the good work flinch!! :33
Wow, 10 years of following you has gone by so fast! Your art has always been so beautiful and stylized, and seing the adjustments and different mediums and styles is so awesome!
Gorgeous sketchbook tour! I might go buy a sketchbook tomorrow and start practicing traditional again >:) thanks for showcasing your art I’ve always loved your style! :DD
Super inspiring, I love the FUDE NIB fountain pen experience. Definitely the world's best kept secret. We enjoy line variation while the rest of the world is forever trapped in the point size of purchase. Great tour, Love your work!
OMG fine I'll buy a fountain pen XD Everyone's using them lately and I have massive FOMO hahaha. Great sketchbook! I love your urban sketches actually! And it's so exciting watching you get into painting too! Thanks for sharing : )
tysm for posting another one of these, i really enjoyed the last one i’m having a similar scratch problem with my hongdian but nail filing sounds scary
aw thank you, I'm glad you liked it ;_; aw man, I think their quality checking probably isn't great. You can brush it very lightly over a nail file n see if that smooths it, or maybe find a professional nib grinder guy if it's scary
YES!!! The tibetan fox, he looks so bad, like a really bad drawen fox but it is the real deal. You did so well with that one. love the palas cats too such cute animals.
Thank you !! If you google art safari you should be able to find them, they would have their online speed sketching sessions in the workshops tab but they've stopped them for the summer T^T
I loved looking at your work but had to bail at 20 minutes because I was getting a bit nauseous with the book being raised and lowered so much while you were flipping pages or just holding it in your hands. 😶🌫But now I'm following you on Instagram! :)
Hi Finch! I have been following you since 2016! Your art has been a great inspiration to me for so long. I was wondering if you have any advice for someone struggling with confidence in their art. I have been in a funk/burnout for 5 years and it’s been hard to even pick up a pencil as I feel like I’m not good enough. I also have no idea how to study/practice art as I have a hard time concentrating due to my adhd. Just the thought of drawing scares me now and I just want to find my love for art again. If you do read this or just anyone who reads this, thank you. Amazing art as always. Much love💜
aw gosh thank you! honestly that's a hard one T_T I think the main thing I'd say is honestly to stay away from social media (sometimes too much inspiration is a bad thing and you start to compare yourself to others too much), and just let yourself play by drawing something you like. Then maybe try drawing things you're not used to, giving yourself less pressure to make something nice bc you're not used to drawing that thing
@@Finchwing Thank you so much for the reply and advice! I’ll definitely try out drawing some new things and staying away from social media until I’m more confident. Again, thank you so much!💕
Yo finch you probably won’t see this, but I just wanna tell you that your art is amazing, literal eye candy and I was wondering if you could join my Tigerstar map called without me. 👁️👄👁️
