This was one of the best instructional felt videos I've seen in a while. I am a felter, painter and art teacher. Thank you for sharing your love and knowledge!
I am not a textile artist but came across this technique in the Dharma Trading catalogue and was curious what it was so I searched for a tutorial on line and yours was the only one that showed me from start to finsh what the heck Nuno felting is. Gracias. I enjoyed watching this video. I may even true it myself.
Why on earth would over 130 people dislike this? It is thorough, extremely pleasant to listen to, and the scarf is beautiful! Maybe people have something against intelligent, refined women with class? Honestly, our society disappoints me more every day. Thank you for the nice video.
Well you have to consider there are people who use the internet to spread their negativity any way they can. They are probably the nicest people superficially in person, however internet forums, UA-cam etc are the only mediums where these keyboard warriors can express themselves , .
Why would they dislike it...?? There are so many random (and stupid) reasons why a person would dislike any video including this one, and we're not going to know the reason. But why would you assume that the reason is because this is presented by an intelligent, refined woman with class? What?? I don't get it.... People are not against woman who have their sh*t together and can speak in an intelligent manner. Please do not be defensive in this way!! It doesn't help any cause for women!!!!
Thank you so much for this informative tutorial. I have never felted a scarf before, but after viewing your video I bought some wool from Greenwood Fiberworks and I can't wait to get started!
Thank you for a wonderful tutorial, you are an excellent teacher and generous to share your skill and knowledge - this is my second viewing, and after the first I attempted a scarf of my own and it turned out well, but after re-watching I now feel confident to try my next one. Kind regards Tracey
I love your tutorial. Thank you. I'm a failed spinner (drop) and have roving. I don't want to buy a large wheel right now, so this is a wonderful outlet for my roving!
I recommend using wool because the structure of the wool fiber allows it to felt. Silk and camel do not felt well by themselves, but can be used in very small amounts as embellishment if attached well to the wool fibers.
Enormous thank you's! I have camels, llamas and alpacas as well as sheep - have just tried some sheep fleece for the first time and it's come up brilliantly - will take on board your idea of using our camel hair as embellishment - but am also tempted to give it a try by itself, will keep you posted on how it goes, I'm really excited!
Great tutorial! You have a nice calm voice that's pleasant to listen to, and I love how there were so many "best parts". I really want to try making this!
Great job in teaching this technique!!! I really want to do this it looks so fun! Thanks again for putting the effort into making this video with such great teaching skills!
Oh my goodness! That was so fun to make! Thanks ever so much for doing this tutorial. You do have a fantastic way of expressing things. And I'm glad to say that I have you to blame for my new addiction. :)
Thank you so much for replying. Your tutorial set me on a new path which is just what I need to relax as a balance to caring for my very elderly Mum. I now realize that the fiber I was using was probably not wool. It was in a mixed batch I bought and many of the other samples I received have worked well. I have just finished my 14th scarf and am absolutely delighted with the results. I am wondering, however, how these very lightweight items will last.Should they be washed or dry cleaned?
It sold at a fiber festival. ;) Actually, I appreciate your point and will remember to show the end product if I ever make another video. Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks for this interesting tutorial, I am going to try this out (but, knowing me, first just a little test...). Could you please consider making more videos about felting? You have a nice way of explaining and interesting techniques. A few tips: set your mic a bit louder (or subtitle), maybe a few close-ups of the scarf during the proces and showing the final 'product' would be a perfect end of the video. Thanks again! :)
What a cool tutorial! Thank you for sharing your secrets. Can you felt with natural fibers instead of wool, like camel hair or silk, or is it JUST wool that felts?
me gustaría saber si lo que pones en la botella es agua con jabón, y si es así que tipo de jabón. gracias Es precioso. Tenga lana de esta que compré en Islandia pero no la se trabajar así que voy a intentarlo.
Thank you for your suggestion. As this is my first video, I am still very much in the learning stages of making these tutorials. I will definitely remember to do this if I decide to make another.
First of all, you must make sure the fiber you use is wool that will felt. Then, make sure that it is fully felted after rolling it. You may need to roll your scarf longer to make sure the fibers are felted together, then when you rinse it, it should hold together. Good luck. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Hi, pls. guide me. 🙏🙏🙏may I ask you please to guide me how can stick felt on cloth? What materials are used? Thank you in advance for your kindness. 🌹🙏
I made a scarf which looked lovely until I got to washing it...Oh, oh, it fell apart. What did I do wrong? Perhaps too thin a layer of wool or too much soap??
Can you give me your mail to ask you more detailed questions about the process? For example, can I put the nylon and silk on top of schiffon or another type of textile instead of the marino fiber? Thanks!!
Me siento frustrada porque quiero ver los videos de manualidades y no puedo aser que se traduzcan, al Español, ? Me podrían ayudar??? O señalar como aserlo???
Good video! great progress, no awkward pauses, no over-explaining, you move easily from one sage to the next and finish. Thank you!

Great tutorial, I've had the wool for ages and not known quite what to do with it. I'll will give it ago.
I love your tutorial. Thank you. I'm a failed spinner (drop) and have roving. I don't want to buy a large wheel right now, so this is a wonderful outlet for my roving!
Me encanta este trabajo con vellón. Y se ve tan sencillo. Gracias por el tutorial.

Love the tutorial Carolyn! You've given me more ideas to play with. I guess this means I'll have to get more braids from you. :)
loved that you made it look so easy. What a therapeutic afternoon one could have!! Have just got to try it.
Great tutorial, I can’t wait to make one of these beautiful scarves. Thank you very much

Love this video! Im going to try it! How would you go about adding angelina fiber to it?
Great tutorial! Thank you.

Thank you for your suggestion. As this is my first video, I am still very much in the learning stages of making these tutorials. I will definitely remember to do this if I decide to make another.
Would love to attempt this project, yours looks beautiful. I am confused about how many ounces or grams to use for a project the same size as yours.
You count your rolling like I count my push-ups. ;)
great tutorial!
great video thanks
It's a beautiful work!!...what was the lenght of the wool fiber at the beginning of the video?
Thank you for share your art :D
This is awesome! Thanks!!
Fabulous tutorial - thank you so much for sharing ;0)
Lovely video, but like so many of them-people forget to put up lots of showings of the final product

Great video!
I am wondering, If I have LOTS of bagged cleaned wool ready to go but not in rovings, can I still do this technique? Thank you! Jamie
Спасибо! Очень подробно и понятно)
Hi, pls. guide me. 🙏🙏🙏may I ask you please to guide me how can stick felt on cloth? What materials are used? Thank you in advance for your kindness. 🌹🙏
the best vidio!!! Thank you!
Wonderful
Excellent work I would however throw in the dryer instead of rolling 50 times each way
Sounds good to me! I'll have to try it sometime.
Thank you 🌺
I wish this video was subtitled. What is the wet stuff in the bottle? Water? How did the felt get so sudsy?
Fab tutorial, many thanks :O) Juli
nice, but where is the finished product?
Nice idea but would've loved to see the very end product :)
I made a scarf which looked lovely until I got to washing it...Oh, oh, it fell apart. What did I do wrong? Perhaps too thin a layer of wool or too much soap??
Once the scarf is done, can you cut the edges without it ruining the felting?
Great tutorial! What's that song you're using at the beginning and end?
what kind of wool do you use for wet felting again? It was not clear to me in the video. Thanks.
Can you give me your mail to ask you more detailed questions about the process?
For example, can I put the nylon and silk on top of schiffon or another type of textile instead of the marino fiber?
Thanks!!
How much wool did you use for this scarf please?
Me siento frustrada porque quiero ver los videos de manualidades y no puedo aser que se traduzcan, al Español, ? Me podrían ayudar??? O señalar como aserlo???
