I've never played this game but the fact that the dev essentially turned the first half of this DLC into a completely different game just for the guest characters feel how dedicated the dev team is.

The satirical component here i feel everyone has missed is that Akuma/Oni is still searching the galaxy to be the strongest being ever. Asura doesnt care about that - he just has anger issues and just sees Akuma/Oni as an annoyance that's in the way

What I believe is that, for the sheer amount of energy (mantra) Asura and Akuma spent on their battle, their souls "died" and went to the Naraka. And took 500 years for their souls to get out of the Naraka to return to their bodies...so they could continue their battle! :D Fucking awesome ending!

Sorry to break it to you guys but the theory is missing one thing, akuma would never be able to beat asura even in his oni form, asura is just way too overpowered by the plot of the game for that to happen, especially considering 7's events and how shin aku was struggling against devil kazuya which is nowhere near asura so even with his oni form, akuma is unlikely to beat asura

when you counter that demon hurricane kick (the one where his body goes all black and his eyes glow red) it looks seriously amazing. the first time i did it i was blown away. great playthrough. some very nice moves displayed.
im not gonna lie this made me tear up of happiness. because this is what akuma always wanted, a worthy opponent. you can almost see the friendship between them 2 at 14:01 with the music playing in the background :')

That guy took a sword to the chest and was thrown from the moon to the Earth with the sword still inside him, and when he landed the sword pierced through the entire Earth, and he lived, then killed his opponent with his own blade, whilst he had no arms, he held the sword with his mouth, then he used the same sword in his mouth to defeat a giant mammoth demon thing. Akuma had no chance from the start.
I'm still waiting for Lost Episode 3, where Dan the Man comes in. If I remember correctly, Dan is a potential candidate for the Satsui no Hado, so it should make for a very hilarious episode.
