Zello Radios VS GMRS & Ham Radios - Is a Zello Radio A "Real" Radio? Are Zello Radios Any Good?

- In this short video I go over some of the differences between Zello radios or Internet POC radios and regular ham radios, and GMRS radios, and I respond to the claim that a Zello radio or an Internet-Radio is not a "real radio".

My router identifies as a radio… Its pronouns are SYN SYN-ACK ACK.....
'Some People' lurk in the back of the auditorium with a blank picket sign and magic markers just waiting for you to say something they can get offended about. I put in the extra effort, which is why I'm Randy's favorite viewer :D
My first encounter with "some people" was over 200 years ago when I delivered the newspaper to Thomas Edison's house. Some people hung around outside his house and said radio would never catch on, and their carrier pigeons were by far the best means of long distance communications. But of course you had to pass the test to use them legally.
It upsets me that my OCD won’t allow me to skip the hidden messages. I have to slow them down and go back and read each dang one. Lol
Some people didnt like this video and they would be wrong
Stroke and pet the UV-5R
As a female ham and gmrs operator, I appreciated your smooth, clean, and nicely trimmed fingernails some people on the UA-cams have scary jagged nails, with dry dirty hands. Yikes!! Thank you
Over reaching government? No…….
I'm a carpenter/subcontractor, and we use the signal app to communicate. MOST PEOPLE..😆.I work with, do not have long drawn out communications, just short concise texts, but SOME PEOPLE..😂...feel it necessary to write long paragraphs of minutely detailed descriptions with their expert opinions whilst displaying their superior intellect, almost as if they were Sad Hams...
Some people : People who are seeking attention.
Your definition of “some people” is perfect, and I know I’m being silly for stopping on all the hidden messages, but I really enjoy your humor and the challenge of stopping on them (HINT: playback speed adjustment is your friend).
Hey Mr. Randy, I really like that shirt! Another good thing about the internet radio, there aren't any scanners that pick up the transmission unless you're connected to a repeater or a rf simplex node.
I can't thank you enough for the step by step info on maneuvering the fcc website. Probably saved me 4 hours and 3 rage quits:)
Another great shirt !! Good information for choosing what's best for people in a decision making mode.👍👍👍
I love the work you do man ! 😅😅You're really looking out for the consumer😂 man you got a really good thing going trolling those other guys😂😂
LOL I had to freeze frame it to finally see your 1 frame flash definition of "Some People" I was not disappointed. Have been watching your Videos for a long time Randy keep up the good work.
You absolutely are the best on any of these shows I watch!👍🏽
Randy, great video as always. I'm staying with my yaesu vx-6r and wouxun kg-935g.
Coming from someone not involved in the ham community, I think network radios, assuming they have a SIM slot, can be extremely useful. Think of industries such as logistics, construction, etc. Back in the day, Nextel was very popular with those folks, and, had Sprint not destroyed it, I think it still would be. In fact, in the Southeast, we still have Southern Linc. A network radio can basically do the same thing, with the advantage of you being able to use whichever wireless carrier works best in your area. Pop in a SIM, sign into Zello, and hand it to an employee.
Does the Ksun model you show in this video work on any US cell providers or are you just using it on wi-fi? I have one of their less expensive models that has issues with US providers. Thanks. And thanks for the entertaining and informative videos.
