Thank you for your videos your trees look great and I can tell that you know what you’re doing I would love to see a video of you pruning a Desert King tree I’m rooting a couple and I’m guessing that it’s different than most trees
Thank you for kind words. Desert King is the only San Pedro type variety in my collection. I still have original 14 y. old tree in the compost pile( long story), and a new smaller tree. DK in container is pruned differently then common figs, since it produces fruit on previous season growth. Without polination, only first crop (breba) will ripen. My tree is still not branched sufficiently for demonstration, but eventually I will make a video. Thanks for the suggestion.
Very nice! I’m wondering did you wake up your fig trees yet? I just took my black Madeira out of my grow room since I felt I removed it a bit too early last season and the leaves burned 😅
Due to my work, I am sill behind, but since I spend time in grow room while pruning and making videos, some are starting to awaken. Shading cloth works great for preventing sunburn.
White bags serve few purposes in my set up. They are preventing leakage of grow bags on the floor when inside, and the water that comes outside will be absorbed again. They are preventing excessive heat of the media (protecting bio flora), important for my trees grown organically. Also, keeping moisture of the media longer. Note: when outside, they have drainage holes.
Great looking trees as always Zarko! Very creative.
Thank you Dean.
I love the progress. Can’t wait to see the full list of the figs you’re keeping.
Thanks. I will make videos as they are growing and of fig tasting .
How many did you end up keeping from last year? Your research on growing figs in cold climate is very interesting.
@BlizzardBurrr I have the same varieties, and adding more. During this season, I will have to decrease number of trees, and decide what to keep.
Can’t wait for spring! Allthough it feels nice for February
Same here, spring is my favorite season.

Maybe this has been asked already. But what does the white backs around the pot for?

Have you got figs off the Unk. Pastiliere?
No, they all dropped. I am hoping for my caprifigs to become productive this season.
Nice 🪴
Thanks ✌
First! 😂
