This was an interesting episode. I’m saddened that the husband got 23 years for the murder of his wife for which he didn’t do. A whole lot of his formative years were taken from him for a homicide he didn’t even commit. How devastating! At least he got his life back at the end.
It was nice to see Andrea Savage (as the wife murdered in 1982) in one of her earlier roles. I enjoyed her work on that recent TV series that she created and starred in called “I’m Sorry.” It’s a much lighter series than this show funny enough.
I discovered “Cold Case” a few months ago and I think I have become a little emotionally attached to the show and some of its episodes.

Hopefully the vindicated Dr. Chase was able to reconnect with Diane after decades in jail, at the very least that man is suing the state for millions. Unique episode for sure

So do I. Quite possibly one of the most perfect crime dramas ever! The progressive story lines also gave many in the LBGTQ a voice, and this was 20 years ago!

They should bring it back or at least create a similar show, especially one where they use popular classic songs to tell the stories! IMO that was the highlight of the series!!!

Despite having an innocent man in jail for 23 years this episode was a relief after very tough episodes "time to crime", "wishing" and "revenge".

Took me a while to understand this one. Apparently the problem was Lindsey's lack of loyalty. Kitty had given her a job and look after her when she was down. She even slept with that fraud/meth guy so that Lindsey could have her money. But as soon as Lindsey figured out how to solve her problem, she dropped Kitty like a brick (she even judged her for sleeping with the fraud/meth guy).
Overall, can't say I feel too bad for Lindsey...

That's why I love this show, the victim is not necessarily a saint. Just like real in life some people get what they looking for.

    • @ThePerksdeLeSarcasmeSiorai

Yup. Lindsay only thought of Kitty as a friend whom she could rely on or take advantage of when it was convenient. She seemingly wanted to walk the line of fire without consequences. The way she rebuffed Kitty at the end was unnecessarily hostile.
Kitty: “I just wanna know: was I your friend? Do you ever even care?”
Lindsay: “Yes! Sure! Whatever! Please! Just get out of my life!”
After hearing that, I thought that Lindsay totally had it coming and Kitty was too distraught to think rationally.
      Some friend she really was.

Came here looking for this comment. Lindsey got herself killed by being uppity and thinking she was above other people. I don't blame Kitty for wanting to shoot her, she didn't deserve that level of disrespect.

ReveiwKing999 The woman at 2:00 was a friend of the victim. She, her husband, the victim, and Steven were all friends, and when her husband died on Steven's operating table she sued him, setting into motion the chain reaction of events that would lead to the victim being shot and Steven being put into jail for 23 years. She's not upset that he's found innocent, she's feeling guilt because her cruelty and desire for revenge caused one friend to lose her life and the other to be falsely imprisoned for 23 years.

Schadenfreude is German and means someone who derives pleasure from another’s misfortune or misery. In the episode, she admits that she felt satisfaction that Lindsay and her husband were having financial troubles after she sued and also the husband charged and convicted of murder. So yes she might feel guilt of how she treated her former friends.

A doctor back in the early 1980s killed one of his patients, which ruined his career, and plummeted him into financial disaster. Which forced his wife to resort to selling Meth in order to keep their big house. However, she got in over her head when she recruited friends, and she wanted to get out of the drug dealing game, but the woman who was arrested in the salon didn't want her to quit as she had a rush from doing the drug selling, and thought they were sort of partners in it. She also confessed that she was in love with her, however, the wife didn't love her, which is why the salon lady killed her. Then the Salon lady framed it all on the husband as he was home when the murder occurred.
