This channel really needs to have a million subscriber. For months, I am binge watching the reviews from as far back as 2018. The notification button is on with this car reviews. Great job, autodeal ph!
One of the things that concerns me about this car specifically is that TMPI is not offering the same warranties for the powertrain and battery here as they do in countries like the US and Australia. My question is why aren't they? You are already paying that hefty price premium for the hybrid at its current price point yet there isn't really much of an incentive that they are there to protect your purchase of it being offered in kind by TMPI for 8 to 10 years. The cost to replace the hybrid powertrain and batteries will be crippling if it suddenly needs replacement outside their 5 year warranty (if I'm not mistaken that's what TMPI is offering to us only). While other countries are given the rightful 10 year warranty for such technologies. The other is how much the interior cabin of this Altis is compromised for those around 6' in height or more. Front passenger's knee will hit the dashboard glovebox area because it protrudes outwards to achieve the design aesthetic they were after. Looks nice but isn't practical as it compromises space. Yes you can move the seat back, but how much legroom would that leave the one sitting in the back. Again, I find this tradeoff done for design a bad compromise as it affects usable passenger space for occupants. You also mentioned the headroom being an issue for taller people in the rear, and I think Toyota should have lowered the seat cushions to give more headroom at the back. Lastly, I really hated what TMPI did to shortchange the Philippine market for the infotainment. They just had to change it to some cheap tablet instead of the Toyota ones fitted to other markets. That's the "CRT" you mentioned in your review which is really a tacky implementation done by TMPI. They just can't help themselves when it comes to the infotainment for our market.
Could be that they still consider us a 3rd world nation and that we wont complain anyway even if they send out a shitload of leftover cars as long as there is a Toyota badge stamped on them. Shortchanged and Arrogance.. Pretty much sum up what TMPI is dishing out to every Filipino motorist. If not only for its perceived reliability.. Maaan, pinulot na cguro lahat ng mga executives nito sa kangkongan dahil sa pinaggagawa ng mga mokong at hinayupak na to. Gotta love toyota though in general.
Chubee Lee - at least there should be an exception or consideration re the hybrids specially Filipino buyers are gettin smarter and cautious as to where or how their money is going to be spent.
its probably because there are no tax breaks yet for hybrid/electric vehicles in PH. First world countries actually sell hybrids on the cheaper side since their governments give them astronomical tax incentives when they sell hybrid/pure electric cars.
Valid point. I guess its just a business decision bec. probably the hybrids are just a small chunk of their sales and they make less money, so they cut corners wherever they can.
I really love the way how you tell your stories about your review to all the cars you features in your videos and how the way you joke! It's very lovely! And enjoyable!

before quarantine, the corolla altis along with the prius were on our school being displayed where you can test drive it. rode in it and it was very quiet and comfortable.
Sir Caco: "Sorry if I'm carbon dating myself, but does the infotainment system look like a CRT monitor that runs a 486 and DOS?" Me, who watches LGR and The 8-Bit Guy: "Yes, yes it does."
This guy is awesome, love his enthusiasm, very entertaining! Great review. Size wise, is this the same as the Corolla Hybrid offered in the US? I’m assuming yes...
Yes, it's pretty much the same car. The US version is called Corolla Levin in some other markets. They're the same car essentially but with different front and rear designs.
This review makes me order Altis Hybrid today, delivery will be on feb. A bit more expensive in Indonesia, it'll cost you around ₱2.100.000 but with the new Carbon tax regulation I can get it for ₱1.825.000
I was just browsing around car reviews(looking to buy one, possibly). And I can't help but notice the stark difference between your showmanship, presentation and professionalism compared to another channel that i have watched with a hit list(?). I may not always be buying a car but I'll always be a fan. Kudos and more power!
I currently drive a prius hybrid all wheel drive. similar in some specs. Awd is very helpful in snow here in Canada... I'm getting 23 km per liter..for me , it's one of the best hybrid in the market.
Hands down the fuel efficiency performance is impressive because of its hybrid tech. However, because of its far more complicated engine to electric motor set up, longterm maintenance costs especially when things start to breakdown well pasts the warranty period, might also be a factor to consider in making an informed decision for a purchase. Moreover, looking @ the infotainment screen of this car, for a moment I thought I was inside a KIA PICANTO. TMP is known for passing stripped down models to the Filipino market. Personally, if a Toyota is really your thing, I think the gas powered variant of thr corolla is the more logical choice if longterm maintenance is on top of your priority list.
When Caco said "Think about it!" at 2:38, and from the Doofenschmirtz reference on the Wigo/Picanto/Brio Comparo, I swear his voice sounds like Dr. Doof lol maybe he can do that in an AMA episode

I am amazed with the fuel efficiency. I can't believe it
Expected from a hybrid
its hybrid
No shit sherlock
The stated fuel economy is almost always wrong when you're driving it yourself.
I test drove this before lockdown and I love it! Not a fan of the CVT but it's not bad for this car.
Sir Caco: "Sorry if I'm carbon dating myself, but does the infotainment system look like a CRT monitor that runs a 486 and DOS?"

Lol on a hybrid, where you'd think they'd slap on all latest tech
Whats great with the Altis is, its offered in several variants to choose, from manual, AT, CVT and cvt hybrid.
