RVs - easy to love but like any relationship, "some" maintenance is required! And how about you - do you like to fiddle with corrective maintenance of your gear?
Have got this Apollo halftime micro/convection oven like this one. The turntable dont work because the (spindel) has broken and has not a part for this. The micro has not a softstart, and the transformer 230/120 60 Hz for europe will turn of during startup. Will replace it with Toshiba TL1-AC25CZA toaster, fry, grill and convetion functions. It has the right size to get in this metal box. Mine Apollo oven is only fasten with self drilling screws to the frame in the bottom sides. Have to use a longer angle screwdriver to get it out. Has to figure out the '' backside'' fans for propper connections to work. Will have some more space around with the Toshiba oven. It will now cost about $ 350 with shipping and taxes for Norway
Good luck. Some people buy a manual wind-up turntable for uniform microwave distribution when their built-in turntable breaks. www.amazon.com/Nordic-Ware-Microwave-Micro-Go-Round-Inch/dp/B00004W4UT
I wonder if Fleetwood had a vent screwed on to the outside, pretending it was doing something? If they did, could probably (carefully) vent it out then.
At 1:35 you mention that the microwave oven that you are going to remove is an Apollo. Could you please mention what model it is? I'm having problems with an Apollo Model AAC24BIB. It turns on but it does not heat. I also want to maybe install a Panasonic microwave oven. Thanks for posting this video.
Yikes, it's been 3.5 years now and the Apollo is long gone. Yes, mine turned on with the turntable still spinning but the convection and microwave were not working. Anyway, I will say that it looks identical to this Apollo Half Time, if that helps: www.amazon.com/Half-Time-Microwave-Convection-Oven/dp/B0012BTDL8 Stand by and I'll see if I have some manuals left in the RV - stand by... (always good to save one's documentation) Okay, after going through dozens of manuals (hard to believe how many subsystems are in a RV), I did find the 35 page manual. The only nomenclature is "Half Time Oven (R) 34 Series. Sorry no model numbers etc. were ever mentioned but it does show 1800 watts in Half Time, 1600 watts in turbo power convection, and 1000 watts for the microwave plus speed defrost. Their telephone number in the manual for service is/was: 800-330-9707 or write PO Box 6066, West Palm Beach, FL 33405. Good luck!
Many thanks - hard to believe how quickly a seemingly "simple" project can get so complicated. Then again, probably not all that different from your excellent artistic skills :) Happy New Year!
My RV microwave became loose for the second time. It pushed in about 2 inches on one side while driving. I am hoping I can secure it myself without getting into service. Thanks for the insight. Any suggestions?
H Laura. When you say your microwave "pushed in" I assume you mean it slid toward the back on one side so cosmetically it doesn't look correct and/or the door may have problems opening and closing. I'm sure you would prefer not to have to remove the trim, etc to have better access to the assemblies if not necessary. In my case I used small wood strips as shims to ensure the microwave as secure and prevent it from moving around. Perhaps can carefully find a way to grab hold of the microwave (be careful not to tug on on the door with too much force, etc.) You might consider buying a set of strong suction cup handles for $10 on Amazon - the kind used to suck to a shower door and in your case, adhere it to an inside of the microwave (top, bottom or sides) in order to "encourage" the microwave into the correct position. Once you get it in the right position, then add your shims, etc so it doesn't slide around. In my case the microwave sat a little bit too low and rubbed when opening the door, so I lifted up the microwave a bit and put a 1 inch by 2 inch by 1/8 inch piece of the end of an old ruler to raise the height of the microwave. Good luck Laura and let us know how it turned out :)
Well, as you'll note in the video I've included some footage of other RVers attempting to remove their microwave ovens, so yes I've watched whatever I could find and we're happy to see so many other viewers have found this "how to" helpful.

I appreciate your fabulous attitude and sense of humor!
Holy cow! I though it would just be an in-and-out operation. Great video. Thanks!

I'm upgrading my microwave to a convection microwave. I'm so glad my RV has a cabinet box for the unit and doesn't hang there.
Good for you - with your cabinet the job should be easy-peasy... well, at least not quite to challenging!😜
I, too, am hoping for an easy replacement as mine sits on it's own shelf above the stove.

Great! Really liked the video.

California Travel Videos thanks!
I think my micro is vented the same way, the fire alarm goes off pretty easily.

You're brave! I'd have gone with the warranty. lol
Mercy have you never seen how to remove a microwave

Way too much talk
Probably so - a good thing the UA-cam "Gear icon" allowing increasing speed up to 200 percent ;)
