Jerry Lynn is a freaking legend. If y'all haven't then go back and watch his TNA run since 2002 which was amazing. His in-ring work was epic, remember when he and AJ styles won together the tag team titles in the summer of 2002.
the New (Whole) F'in Show / Legend, Jerry Lynn - an asset for any professional company, bar none, like a Dean Malenko, Jim/(James E.) Cornette (Corny), Paul Heyman, the Sinister Minister (Father James Mitchell/Vandenberg, as a Manager &/or a Mouthpiece) or a Jeff Jarrett !
@@6ixsidemafia789 Dude your not the only one who did tape trades back in the day, so that doesn't mean you "have a say in wrestling". Your just a fan like the rest of us. Anyways I'm done with this. Take care bro ✌
Lots of respect to Jerry Lynn, legendary name in professional wrestling, ECW legend & class act. So glad to see him working behind the scenes in AEW. I hope Lynn continues to contribute his expertise to wrestling for many more years to come.
Jerry was active during a time when I wasn't watching wrestling much (except for the Mr. J.L. part, which I remember). But his reputation as a class act was evident even then. I really enjoyed this interview with him, where I got an opportunity to learn more about one of the legends of the business. Thanks for having him on here.
I've had the pleasure to meet and chat to Jerry one more than one occasion and not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about the business but he's a very genuine and nice dude as well. Wish nothing but the best for him.
This is yet another awesome interview. I am glad I learned more about Jerry Lynn in this interview. amazing. And the kind words he had for Tony Khan and how he treats people is just touching.
I remember watching Jerry Lynn and RVD begin to create ALOT of the cool styles and reversals that you see today in wrestling, in 1998. So awesome to witness, and now to acknowledge and talk about, so cool ✨#ECW #AEW
Jerry Lynn's series with RVD back in ECW is one of the things that REALLY ignited my passion for wrestling, even though I'd been a fan for years at that point. One of the all time underrated best.
I happened to meet Jerry Lynn at a concert I was playing at. We were all wrestling fans from Philly and the show was up in northern New Jersey and Jerry just happened to be there. Ironically, it was right after he did the "DIE" written in blood. He was such an awesome person who took the time to get to know us and who really appreciated his fans, too. Every time I see him appear on TV, a giant smile can be found across my face. I'm really glad he's doing well and helping others be the best they can.
I love that unlike the younger guys, Jerry immediately let it be known that he wasn’t about to give out too many secrets so to speak...,I’ll always respect a lil bit of kayfabe over someone spilling all the beans lol
Jerry seems like such a nice fellow. I like how he mentions fundamentals and making his matches still appear as a contest. That's so important. He seems like a great transitional person to have backstage to help usher and blend in modern wrestling with the older style. Also, good open mind about how things work. I think that's the kind of balance you need.
I must be in the Tony Khan camp in that I also rushed home after school to watch the daily GWF show. That mention brought back a bunch of nostalgia for me. I absolutely appreciated the Lightning Kid reference here.
Loving all these podcasts and hearing all the stories. The fact it's unrestricted gets a better story, in my opinion, oh and Tony swearing and Aubrey giggling like a little girl when he does.
Jerry, as a masked dude in WCW ("Mr. JL" - What ?!?!); so he was like a Japanese (Power Rangers)/Mexican Luchador (not "Nacho Libre" with Jack Black) ? the Phantasm... the WCW Halloween Phantom was the late "Ravishing" Rick Rude
Jerry's biggest problem is that he comes across too nice. Sadly couldn't reach legendary status past the hardcore wrestling fans (hardcore meaning those who live and breathe wrestling, not hardcore as in ECW style)
I'm blocked by Jerry on Twitter. No idea why, he blocked me before I had ever heard of him. Was already blocked first time I looked him up. Pictures of cute animals must really piss him off!

Yeah, I kinda feel like these will be lost to time, but his early TNA days shouldn't be denied.

There are a few people I'm REALLY glad are with AEW. Jerry Lynn and Dean Malenko are super high on that list.
Totally agree
Spitting truth.
Amen brother. I'll add Vicky Guerrero as well
@@6ixsidemafia789 Chill bro, I just mean I'm glad she's still working in pro wrestling. BTW real wrestling fan here, been watching it for 30 years

Never saw Jerry wrestle....but the way he interacts with the talent backstage, and how highly he's spoken off is a massive bonus for AEW
Missing out on some classics. He and RVD in particular kinda changed the game a couple times in the 90s...
time to do some educational viewing.
you're already here in UA-cam, go watch his matches
RVD v. Lynn at ECW's Living Dangerously 1999. Take one of these and call me in the morning. 😁

I waited on Jerry Lynn like 15 years ago in Sedona, AZ. Good dude!
This man gave RVD the best feud of his career. Legend is underselling him

I saw Jerry Lynn against Lance Storm at the last ECW tv taping in Minnesota at the UofM. It was an amazing match. High point of the card for me.
I met Jerry Lynn in Minneapolis and he is cool 😎 af

Jerry Lynn and RVD at Hardcore Heaven '99. Still the best match I have ever been able to personally witness.

My north GA boys represent! also... It wasn't me that said that.
I remember when Lynn wrestled as "Golgotha Cross" in Michinoku Pro's World League in 95. Pretty much like Mr. JL but with a way cooler name!
I remember seeing Jerry Lynn in an ECW house show in 99. Great guy. Wonder if he still listens to extreme metal.
Your right Tony, Jerry Lynn is a class act

being an Old/ New Fan Of Wrestling it would have been nice to Know who he was and what he had done. It seemed like it was assumed that we all Knew

Nice to see Fred Durst landed on his feet after Limp Bizcut...

Wwe Hall A Famer Jerry Lynn

ECW ECW ECW
Jim Cornette puts AEW down more and more just like Vince and HHH
And??? All struggling to stay relevant...
Cornies constant bashing of AEW just sounds like his ego is bruised cuz he's not been invited to be involved
Aew should get RVD
Jerry's biggest problem is that he comes across too nice. Sadly couldn't reach legendary status past the hardcore wrestling fans (hardcore meaning those who live and breathe wrestling, not hardcore as in ECW style)
how does Jerry Lynn look older than Tony Schiavone? lol
I thought Aubrey’s long fingers, arms, and over the top theatrics were bad enough, then I heard her talk. 🙄😂
I'm blocked by Jerry on Twitter. No idea why, he blocked me before I had ever heard of him. Was already blocked first time I looked him up. Pictures of cute animals must really piss him off!
This interview is almost as boring as his career.... Nice guy tho LoL
