Summary: 1) ketchup x 2 hours. 2) clarifying shampoo. 3)Clarifying shampoo + a little bit baking soda. 4) Conditioner with lime juice.

It DEFINITELY works! I put the ketchup on my dry hair, covered it with a large shower cap and kept it for 2 hours and 15 minutes or so because my hair was a little greener than yours. I wanted this to work the first time SO bad that I was willing to keep the ketchup for much longer if it was necessary. Anyway, I rinsed my hair, shampooed it , used my conditioner that WAS IT! I Immediately noticed the change., ALL THE UGLY LIGHT GREEN COLOR WAS GONE, ONLY THE BLONDE WAS SHOWING! I am so glad that I did not have to use any harsh hair produces that would have certainly damaged my hair. ONLY USING THIS KETCHUP TRICK TRULY WORKS! ALTHOUGH, YOU MUST KEEP IT FOR "AT LEAST" AN HOUR AND A HALF, 2 HOURS WOULD BE BEST AND ON DRY HAIR.

Also, why was your hair green? I feel like this method might not work for me since my hair is green due to a faded blue hair color.

Piece of Wanderland it only works if the green tone comes from blonde dye, it will not remove direct dyes like blue or green only green tones in blonde dye.

This actually works as my hair was like a mossy green on the ends and all underneath and I tried all sorts but nothing got rid of it. I tried the ketchup on my head wrapped it up in a towel for two and half hours, washed it out, then I mixed a table spoon of bicarbonate of soda with two tablespoons of moisture rich shampoo rewashed my hair with it, and just applied conditioner as normal and hey presto zero green hair. Extremely impressed after being sceptical.

    YES PPL, IT WORKS!!!
I was reading comments all around and I was like, ok I will give it a try! As I bleached my hair, then I used a white toner and after that, the GREEN HAIR SHOWED UP! so, I was looking for help ASAP!!!
    What I did was:
I just wet my hair with warm water, then the ketchup forr 2 hs, washed with water again.
Then mixed 2 tsp of b. soda + 2 tsp of shampoo (any kind) and then shampoo my hair with the baking soda mixture and left it for 10 min.
After that, washed off with warm water, conditioner and VOILA! NO MORE GREEN!!! (no lemon used)
I cannot believe this really worked out so I'm super happy! :D

Thank you SOO Much for this video and thank you to all the comments. I bleached my hair and when I put the ash blonde dye on top, I must have put on for way too long because it came out green/grey - complete panic attack. Then I found this video and all the comments - First I put ketchup on -- drenched my hair in it, put on a shower cap then left it for 2 hours - washed it off just with water - then mixed 2tsp of baking soda with any shampoo and put that on for 10 minutes - washed off with water, then put 1 lemon and some store bought lemon juice with conditioner and left that for 1 hour. WOW IT 100% WORKED. After the ketchup I could instantly see there was a difference -- after the baking soda too and the lemon juice -- NO MORE grey or green AT ALL - I do still have some yellow and orangey yellow bits I need to fix with some purple shampoo -- but jeez you helped me soo much --- THANK YOU =)

Yes, it works for sure, my hair is the lightest golden blonde normally ( from a box) used same Colour for years. One day picked up wrong one, no glasses, and they changed packaging. Very ashy green. I started using ketchup about 2 mos ago and I get a couple washes and pack it for half hour . Just found video and wanted to agree that this works like a charm. Just growing out this way and won't go to hairdressers who cost a fortune and no guarantees. They if green comes back in 4 to 6 weeks, you've wasted your $$ and over processed your hair.

I think you look amazing! Great job! I know it's a ton of work and research to try and fix it yourself. I had platinum blonde went darker to give my hair a break and after it grew out it was hard to keep my roots and the rest the same color. Now I be been doing color remover, bleaching and so much damage. I dyed my hair an ash blonde 8 level only the underneath to see how it goes and it's a lot closer to my root. It's just a bit greenish but I think I will live with it because my hair my fall out if I continue to process it! I just have to decide on how to do the top now...maybe go to a 7? After all is done I'm cutting my long hair into a cut similar to yours.

I might love you. I am alone going through the same right now. I had blue hair dye bleached over it and got that mangy greenish hue. I now have a very light toner on it, and hair looks pink so far. Much better than green. I have the ketchup at the ready🙌

Thank you. It did actually work better than I thought. I bleached my hair at a salon a few months ago and it turned out very light blonde. After a while it started to turn yellow and my not so smart ass bought an ash blonde toner from the store. It turned out greenish, like yours. Today I dipped my entire head in ketchup, wrapped a plastic bag on it and waited almost two hours. Rinsed it, washed with my normal shampoo and all the green tones are gone. Now it’s a little bit darker cool blonde. Thank you again. 🙂

grind up vitamin c tablets and leave on for twenty minutes done, this is an acid and will close the cuticle tight and squish out the large pigment out of the hair, do a test strand first because depending on the previous damage to the hair strands breakage is possible, the longer the vitamin c is left on the more warmer the hair will get, do the test strand to be safe.

    • @stacyschenk6694

So after a short lived romance with blue-grey hair my once very blonde hair was a greenish-grey blonde after using vitamin c treatment a few times. It certainly helped fade it, now sat with tomato ketchup on my head hoping this knocks that final dingy tone out of my hair!

Vinegar soak. I’m a natural strawberry blonde and have all kinds of red and blonde tones. The ends are bleached close to platinum from the sun. The one time I went to a salon to have the ends toned down to the rest of my hair it went green. Went home and soaked it in white vinegar for a couple of hours and could actually see the green rinse down the tub. Never again with the salons.

Ketchup has vinegar, so it might be what clarifies the green. I thought right away that it has nothing to do with the ketchup itself, but more about the vinegar in it.

Ok so today I had a balayage that turned ashy green in parts. The hair dresser then tried to fix it with red, and instead of neutralising the green, my balayage turned red. I was told my hair had absorbed the red. Then they tried blue to cancel the red. No change. I’m lost as to what they tried next. I was starving and my neck was hurting after being at the sink for so long. After 5 hours, I was told they did all they could and I’d have to wait for the red to fade. Luckily the red looked quite good, so I wasn’t too upset. They told me to come back when the red fades and they’re going to do another lift and whatever they have to and fix it for me for free. That’s fine. They’re a nice bunch. But it’s pathetic to think hairdressers can’t fix green hair when normal people are able to do it themselves at home!? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I did the baking soda+ blue dawn dish soap+ 10 developer and shampoo. Took out the burple but left my hair badly green. I figured that it was the undertone of the purple product i had before. I did it again after a week where the green had turned a little lighter. I figured the second time it would knock out the remaining green pigment. Its actually worse. I am going to try this and fingers crossed because I have school monday 🤧.

I already had blonde hair just how I wanted it, I just wanted to get rid of the Platnum highlights (too expensive to maintain). All I remember is having mop-water hair ALL OVER when she was done! 8O

    • @Eli-pm1pi
      @Eli-pm1pi 3 роки тому

I think it greatly depends on how the green got into your hair. For me, the ketchup trick didn't help at all, but the green tone in my hair eventually faded out with some washes. In my case, I think the toner reacted with the blue shampoo I used and therefor left me with green, but blue shampoo gets washed out over time and so did the green then (that's just an amateurs opinion tho, but from all research I did this seems the most possible explanation to me). If the ketchup trick works for you, it might be a reoccurring process, since the color pigments will just settle ON TOP of the hair and make it SEEM like it neutralized the green, but these pigments will get washed out eventually, and if the green is still in your hair, then you have to repeat the process.
I did not try the other tricks tho, since my hair is naturally thick and on the dryer part, and these tricks would have left it strawy.

Exactly like my story. I went to her “master” with recommendations. She fucked up the hair. Its greenish yellow. Makes me old, and my light skin looks dark.

Thanks for the tips .... I obviously needed them because sitting for 10+ minutes hearing you talk about your life story was real... I wish you would say "uhm" less and chat a bit less . But thanks

if you remove too much red ...you get green. I worked in a hairdressers once ..i literally turned a woman's hair your colour that you have at the start of the video ...it was with a Schwarzkopf high lift colour plus developer .i couldn't work out how it happened. I think maybe schwarzkopf just does that sometimes on some of their high lift colours. Or else i just fucked up bad.

I did this and I must have not left the ketchup in long enough because when I shampoo it out and conditioned it was still green... was thinking about just leaving the ketchup in and washing it out without shampooing but who wants their hair to smell like ketchup ...nasty!

Gianna Rose I actually tried this too and it didnt work for me either :/ my hair used to be blue and turned green from bleaching and I noticed that everyone says their hair turned green from chlorine or something. so im not exactly sure it that had anything to do with my problem or not

This only works if you've put it on blonde dyed hair, it won't work on blue dye or green dye or blue dye turned green.

Grace Maynard I was going to respond I read the same thing, mine was blonde and turned green after using the Just For Men's shampoo, two days later it just turned blue. Now it's like a blue green which I've kept for a month, looks like it was purposely done and everyone liked it so I kept it but the greys are growing quick and I going to have to fix it. I wish I knew if it fixes it permanently. Anyone know?

What about if you had blonde ends, used purple tinted conditioner on it which must not have been all the way gone, bleached over the ends (hoping to just have them blonde again) and they ended up GREEN. Will ketchup work for that? lol... I'm broke.

I went with lowlights because my highlights were getting too light. My stylist put on lows and a purple shampoo and it turned it washed out. I have had breakage and wanted a remedy that wouldn't cause more. This was very helpful and I am trying it. I want my hair back:) I don't think your tutorial was too long as the other reviews have said. I respect a person that shows honesty and true self. Accent didn't make a difference but your personality did. Thank you and I will let you know how it goes:)
