Macodes Petola (Lighting Bolt Jewel Orchid) Plant Care Tips + SHOP ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hi everyone,
There's the highly requested video on the Macodes Petola aka the Lighting Bolt Jewel Orchid. In this video I go over the current medium I have mine in, my opinion on humidity, as well as the usual lighting, watering, fertilizing care tips. The camera will never do this plant justice, if you are able to get your hands on one of these, I would highly recommend it. The veins are shimmery, and glittery, and gold and BEAUTIFUL.

Hello! I just got my Jewel orchid today! Very informative video, just wondering what are your led settings? Because I purchased some as well for my orchid, hoping for good growth

The LEDs I use are linked in the description! I don’t remember what the specifications are but they’re strong, so I would just make sure to put the lights relatively far away since jewel orchids don’t like direct lighting!

Could a Macodes Petola grow in a self watering violet pot? I have one in moss in one but I'm considering putting it in a peat, bark, and pearlite mix instead.

Probably! I’ve only had mine in moss but I don’t see why not, my lucidia discolor is in a bark heavy soil mix and it’s fine

When you say you water it when it’s 50% dry, do you mean when it’s dry about halfway down the pot?
