A decade ago I'd agree, but it's really more Yakuza now. Sonic still gets more than most of their classic franchises but not by that much, especially when you consider that Mania and the Boom subseries were outsourced. One question for all north-americans out there, out of curiosity: how are the current arcade places around you area? I live in Brazil, and over here, the prime of the video arcades was the mid 90s, before gaming and PC became the absolute norm and games moved from arcade style towards shooters/strategy games. So you still find places with Daytona USA and other games from this era, including the Simpsons fighting game. I was in Japan a couple of years ago, and their arcades are insane, with new machines and games available everywhere (mostly because there is still a market for those in Japan). How is the current situation in the US/Canada?
99% of them died out in the 90s. Every once in a while you'll run into a family center with a few machines. If you're lucky you might live near one of the few remaining arcades, which tend to be huge and have a lot of machines, but those are few in number, and most seem to be on the east coast.
