    I've seen squash for the past 40 years, i've seen the australians, british, pakistanis, canadians, but till this day i'v seen nothing like the egyptians, it's truly truly exciting to watch these two play, even more than watching jonathan power, the khans, etc in their prime.

      Hi Sameer -- I've seen Squash for 50 years now, and watched many of the players that you mention live -- I agree with you regarding how exciting these two are to watch (particularly Ashour) compared with the more attritional game of times gone by -- no disrespect meant to those great past players, but I consider that the game has changed for the better

      The game evolves, Ramy especially is the once a generation player that raises the game to the next level. You really can't just compare them to previous generations like this.

    What are the thoughts on the first couple of points, where it looks as if both players are trying to take advantage of the cold ball. I'm a 4.5 level squasher and play about 3 days a week, (these are competitive, but somewhat causal games). Typically we don't hit these little drop shots until the ball is warm. It's sort of an unwritten rule. To be clear I'm not calling out the pros here, I'm simply curious if other Recreational players do the same, thanks.

    • @andres190393
      @andres190393 6 років тому

      They weren't taking advantage of a cold ball because it was the second game, so the ball should be pretty hot after a whole game of play between them both

    • @johnho6954
      @johnho6954 6 років тому +3

      well first of all you guys should be warming up the ball. secondly, what you may think is cold is still warm because the pace these two hit at surely make the ball very very hot. It is just that the two have so much control that even with a warm ball, they can still make it die

    • @InshushaGroupie
      @InshushaGroupie 6 років тому

      I've always done a warm-up first, which gets the ball almost hot because we're just practicing.

      If he is bleeding on the court it could be stroke and if he bleeds on the courts they will send him off for 3min brake and then he comes back on to play well they clean the court

    • @CheapHomeTech
      @CheapHomeTech 6 років тому +1

      I think ElShorbagy was trying to use the scratch on Ashour's elbow as a way of winning the match by using this rule at www.ussquash.com/officiate/online-rules/:
      16. Bleeding, Illness, Disability ..
      G14 Bleeding, Illness, Disability and injury
      16.1 Bleeding: The Referee shall immediately stop play when any player has visible bleeding, an open wound or blood-stained clothing. Before allowing play to continue the Referee shall require that the bleeding be stopped, the wound covered and any blood-stained clothing changed, allowing such time as is reasonable and necessary and is available on the tournament schedule.
      If the bleeding was caused solely by the opponent, the Referee shall immediately award the match to the player.

      Juan Alejandro Buasso
      It is a Safety let
      There was a chance that Mohammed would hit ramy during the swing of the racket or hitting him with the ball
      So he preferred not to play it
      So it is a yes let where they replay with no penalty

    Around the 5-4 and 5-5 points, 7 minutes in, Ashour loses two points the second of which he asks for a video review. My take on this is Ashour should not only have gotten a let but also the points because ElShorbagy was not on the T but half way to the wall blocking Ashour. If he were on the T and stood there then sure it would be his point or at worst a let. But being off the T and blocking his opponent is not right. Think about somebody blocking the shot at the corners. There it is obvious. On the side though doesn't happen that often but a great player like ElShorbagy can make it happen. It's like Ashour didn't like the first call but figured what the heck, it's just a fluke. But when it happened twice the judges should have been better. Any other people see it that way?

    • @CheapHomeTech
      @CheapHomeTech 6 років тому +2

      lol, I see Ashour has a solution for ElShorbagy's technique. Instead of being the nice guy and losing points he now knows the judge can't be trusted. So at 8-8 when ElShorbagy tries to cheat again he pushes him out of the way and calls point! YES!!!

  • @greenhat7618
    @greenhat7618 4 роки тому

    Elshorbagy is playing so dirty he is intentionally blocking ashour in so many incidents. You can see him straight bumping into Ashour.
