Now just need to find that right balance on the feed and when to start stepping up the nutritional value to support growth, but not over growth...not as simple as it sounds. 🤔
Thank you for your cooler headed insight. The previous post you responded to made me angry. And it is Sandis prerogative if she chooses to keep Red or not.
I had two ewes blow out also. They lambed and raised their babies with no issues. I think it bothered me more than them. Sheep amaze me sometimes. But it always sucks seeing them struggle at all. Hoping you the best. The lambs are so cute!!

I'm sorry that this continues to be a difficult lambing, it seems that each day is more challenging than the last. Add to it all the additional stress of worrying about Jess. I admire your strength in just getting out of bed each day and opening that door at 4 a.m. The most amazing thing is that you still have that positive sense of anticipation, ready to greet and love all the new arrivals. Give Jess extra hugs, let her know we all hope and pray for her good health.
Any chance picking some of those lams up & swinging them to clear fluid from lungs, might help? Have seen some can be resuscitated, bit you ate the best judge of course. Gp9d luck to your beautiful daughter & take good care of yourself too ❤❤❤
The extra lambs being both a blessing and a curse in that there are so many more stillborns and so many more bottle babies, I hope this is a once off crazy and your next season of lambing is a lot calmer. Sending thoughts and prayers for you, Jess and the whole family at this time xx
The only thing with sheep that brings out deep inner anger in me is when the ewe refuses to nurse her lambs and bashes them around, and fights me when I try to help. That red X, I totally felt that!
You survived a very hard week. You are doing the best you can. That is all you can do. So many babies! So many quints! Oh my goodness. All those wiggly tails and bouncy ears. Oh and the new Rams! That will help. You are doing a great job! Thank you for sharing your world. Your viewers are here for you in what ever capacity you need. ❤
Amen for sure. If I lived closer, I would take, or split, a shift when it gets really hard. We all love you beautiful Sandi. ❤️🎉 Praying for Jessica, and for you and your family. God Bless you all.
I was watching Cammy and laughing as he swung lambs around by their back legs to clear their lungs, and I thought, “what a great instance of the spectrum of approaches in animal husbandry!” I could no more picture Sandi swinging lambs around by their back legs, and yet it’s totally within the realm of age-old acceptable methods!
Thank you Sandi for bringing pure joy to my husband and me. He is disabled so he can't get out much so I found UA-cam with sooooo many good ideas. He discovered you, I'm pretty sure he has cried with you a few times. Take some time for YOURSELF or you won't be able to care for everyone else. Take care and God bless!!! Your Southern Fans.
I'm sorry you're having such a rough lambing. It seems like when life throws lemons at us, everything else around us goes to shit with it. But that lil #16 lamb at the end, just casually laid up in the feed bunk with a piece of hay hanging out its mouth, was beyond adorable! Love ALL your content. Thank you for sharing it with us.
That little lamb made me laugh! Up in the feed tray, gumming a piece of hay, looking like it's doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing. So funny!!😂🤣😂🤣
I'm so sorry, Sandy... this has been a tough lambing. Sending soft hugs and empathetic thoughts for you during this tough time. Sending ❤ for Jess too.
@@lisalarouge6309 She's letting her daughter take the led in how much to share and Jess (who has her own channel) has chosen not to be specific. At least that's my current understanding.
Sandi, I can’t thank you enough for all the time and effort you spend sharing your sheep life with us. I had my first time freshening/kidding goats this last month. We had so many tangled and backwards and even a stillborn. Because I’ve seen you stay calm and think it through and then do what needed to be done, I was able to handle all the crazy situations, without losing kids that wouldn’t have made it otherwise. You are a godsend.❤
I know... l feel as though l could walk into the barn and do everything l have the strength for ... strength or lack thereof being the only issue... but if l could brace my feet it'd be ok ...
Is it just me or is Tamatoes🍅 just a dog that accidently spawned in the form of a sheep?! 100% convinced she thinks she's a dog, and I would die watching Sandi take her for a walk on a leash 😂
I’m holding my breath and praying a lot for a good outcome for Jess. The adorable antics of these lambs help me through bad times. I know you guys know we are all pulling for you.
Big Momma looked so funny! She looked like she was in jail and needed "bale" money!! 😂 On a more serious note, I am so sorry this is such a hard lambing season for you Sandi, with all the health issues in the family and the ewes. Please know you are so much stronger than you know. It's a bad season but not a bad life. BIG warm hugs!🤗
At last!!! I’ve been missing the Golden Girls and I’m so happy to see them again! ❤ I’m also excited about seeing Sandi’s numbers this lambing. She’s got a lot a bottle babies and there’s lots of ewes having multiples. It’s going to be interesting!
@@recoveringsoul755 The Golden Girls is the nickname for the retired ewes put to pasture, instead of sent to market. It's in reference to a sit com about elderly ladies sharing a condominium, Betty White was in it. 🤍🐑 I wish you ease and long lasting recovery.🕊️
@@recoveringsoul755 The Golden Girls are the older sheep we saw in the field (aka retirement village). Sandy loves them so she keeps them after retirement age and they kinda act as her therapy. They include Billy’s Mom, Ruby, Big Momma, Large Marge, and Tomatoes (the youngest).
I love it when Sandi does the split and there’s two of her😍 Just what she needs when Carissa isn’t there being her twin! Thank you Sandi for sharing you and your flock with us all! 🥳
Sandi I just want to thank you and your husband and your children and Carissa for bringing me so much joy. I’ve been really unwell and stuck in bed and not too happy about it. And I watch your show even episodes from way back and it’s like we know you. I know that may sound loca en la cabeza lol but it’s like we really care about what happens to you and your loved ones and all your furry babies. You give us so much and so much of yourself!!!!! Please know as I’m sure many others would say, we do not take you for granted or what you do for granted. Thank you for all that you give us. I get really bored with TV when you’re down so much so long, you’ve seen everything that you could possibly be interested in and some you didn’t Want to watch. It’s so wonderful to be able to turn on UA-cam and find you and it helps me live in the present better.
@Mikki Leon Like you you, I’ve have been dealing with multiple surgical issues & complications. I’ve been drastically restricted on what I can do, which is very frustrating, as my husband has had to pick up the daily chores on our small farm, plus he works full time. I don’t feel safe enough to even take care of my last pony, which is really difficult. We don’t have kids, other than our two adopted dogs & 2 parakeet’s. There is no family around or friends. You are right, in the past five months I’ve seen all that I can watch on tv, caught up on all the series I’m interested in, can’t stand the news here in the USA, UA-cam has been a help (fortunately my great hubby has us on the premium subscription & there are a lot of free movies). I usually liked to read, but am just not interested in getting into a new book. The Lord is helping me keep it together and so are channels like Sandi’s, as she makes me realize I’ve got it easy compared to others. Sandi is an amazing woman & this birthing group of lambs has to be her most challenging yet. This & also dealing with her daughter’s medical issues & Mark’s injury, she keeps on going. And we know we are not seeing all of what she is dealing with. Prayers for Sandi, you and all their others out there that are dealing or attempting to, handle all of the challenges which we are facing. God Bless! 🙏🙏❤️❤️
I get the frustration since I have had 4x right shoulder surgeries and got hit by a drunk driver in a jeep while riding my bicycle. My foot was nearly amputated. I was bed bound for about a year. The best way I found to deal with it was to do some hobbies in bed. For me I love puzzles and building things. So I got someone to get me some crystal puzzles from Walmart (3d see thru puzzles) then got an old waterfall with multi colored light that had broken. Then I put together the Cinderella castle, broke apart the waterfall, and found a way to place the castle that I glued together onto the base so it changed colors. It was beautiful. Gave it to a child. Then kept making things for people. Just a thought. For me it was way too easy to fall into the poor me attitude. So I had to act. I'm not saying you are but this info might still be helpful. People will coddle you at first. That will wear off. So best get them to help you find a way to deal with your stress and anxiety while they still feel bad for you. Don't coddle yourself. Use this time to learn new things or to help others. Keep your brain active (TV doesn't count, that's down time) make a schedule and keep to it. You can do this. I'm rooting for you.
Is it just me? At first I hated it but I love hearing that squeaky door opening every morning. Never knowing what's happening on the other side but knowing Sandy would entertain us with her wonderful self.

As farmer's wife, we both greatly enjoy your show, and deeply admire your care for the sheep, like all your steady viewers. However part of my background is medical, and the volume of multiple births is something that may be influenced by many factors. Children who are twins or triplets are known to have an increased risk of a complicated pregnancy. Something major may be going on within the country for you to have as many quads as you are. Feed additives that no one has detected yet, or even a side effect of a medication that was not noted yet, are two potential candidates. The medication for pregnant women, Thalidomide in the 1950's. was not detected right away, as it caused completely different birth defects in children in the uterus depending on the day of gestation that the mothers took the medication. Thalidomide actually caused no birth defects if taken after a certain day of gestation according to Wikipedia's sources. You may have a parallel situation, which affects other farms, but the birth defects are entirely different on a specific day of fetal development. Absolutely none of this is your fault at all! It is a mystery and may be happening all across the sheep farming world, but clouded by the variety of the birth defects. Work with a university agriculture dept.or veterinarian dept. may give you more of a national picture, or the farm association for Canadian sheep. But, this is definitely not your fault at all!! We are both very fond of you and want the best for your life. If reducing the size of the flock helps reduce your stress, or even giving up youtube, we want you to do that. But only temporarily!! We also wish you good luck with Jess. Know that your family is in our thoughts. G
Sandi. There are so many that get great joy from walking alongside you as you sheep farm. There is so much content in your video's, much is openly visible, and some is visible to a farmers eye, all content is great. Thank You so much lady, please take care. 🙏🤗💕😁

I wanted to let you know that you have brightened my day. I am laying in a hospital bed in Texas. Just diagnosed with Belspalsy. Can only watch with one eye, but it is loving what it is seeing. I can only smile with half my face, but it is all because of the love you give your flock. Love you Sandy.

My husband has had a few rounds of Bells Palsy, several years apart, and each time has fully recovered. Hoping your recovery is as successful as my hubby’s!
One of our sons had it twice. Almost completely back to normal (his ability to pucker to whistle is still affected, so that's pretty mild as residual damage goes). May God grant full healing for you. 💝🙏
I’m so sorry you have come down with B.P. I had it 5 months ago! I still have a bit of an weakness in the eye sand mouth… barely! Take. Good care of yourself! Prayers rising!
Sandi, this lambing feels like it's been especially emotional, given that Jess is getting diagnoses that aren't what we wish for. Our hearts & prayers are with you & your family 🙏💕💕
Hang tight, Sandi, YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS!!! This could just be a perfect storm of a little bit of everything coming crashing down on you while you're also worried about your daughter. (I had previously put the above at the end of this comment, but I felt you needed to read it first.) Tomatoes with her lamb-like hop / ewe stomp is always a treasure during many sad occurrences on a video despite her bad habits. I think this should be called the "Season of the Bad Feeding", "Season of the Bad Feeding Schedule" or some such. It's a life lesson for sure that you're going to avoid replicating. God and Nature tests us in many ways and we have to listen. You know this already, but go over everything with your current notes, previous year notes, your vets near and far, other sheep farmers, and your own feed. What have you done differently? Have the other farmers had any problems or had similar situations--at all! Talk to Mike about your feed if you haven't already--any changes from previous years? Similarities? Check your notes for those years. So far the vets seem to not have any disease issues to correlate to your dead lamb problems, but if it's not the feed--what is it?! Is it the vaccines/meds you purchased recently? It's a long shot, but "bad batches" do happen--rarely. There is also medication resistance. I'd almost wish the local vet college would test all your sheep, but it IS possible just getting rid of a lot of the older ewes and bringing in new ram stock will be what you need. You could bring this up with other farmers and vets and see if that's part of the problem. Keeping you in my thoughts and hoping the worst of this "perfect storm" is over.
Sandi, thank you for sharing these parts of your life with us even though you're dealing with so much right now. We all love seeing these beautiful, sweet lambs and sheep.
Gp9d luck to your beautiful daughter & take good care of yourself too ❤❤❤
We're gonna ask how big mama got in there? Really?! The queen of getting in and out of places she shouldn't be. 😂 gotta love her!! ♥️🐑
Lol!
She did get through the creep gate once, after all! 😂😂
@@samanthaclarke3422 more than once! 🤣🤣🤣
The other four did look a bit guilty, but it could just be the default sheet facial expression of 'What?'. 😂
The extra lambs being both a blessing and a curse in that there are so many more stillborns and so many more bottle babies, I hope this is a once off crazy and your next season of lambing is a lot calmer. Sending thoughts and prayers for you, Jess and the whole family at this time xx
I love seeing the golden girls. They look so fluffy and happy.
Which one was the bouncy white one that seemed to bounce when she saw Sandi? Was that Tomato? They need name tags ❤😂
Big Momma always loves to prove she can squeeze anywhere…
Gotta love her! 🐑🤍🐑
The only thing with sheep that brings out deep inner anger in me is when the ewe refuses to nurse her lambs and bashes them around, and fights me when I try to help. That red X, I totally felt that!
The way you can reach in and determine what end you've got is impressive to me. Lambies are sooooo cute. 🐑
The passion in painting that x on the bad mom 😂 I feel that.
The Golden Girls are living their best life, it was great to see them doing some run/hopping.
I love how the one sheep in the field was like "Quick Mum, She's stuck. Help Her!!".
It works well
Sandi's vet had told her not to do that. It's why she has the suction thing! 🙂
Also he complained about getting triplets.Told him about checking out our girl and her quads+
It works amazingly! Most farmers have swung some newborn critter by the back legs at least once 😂
Dr. Pole might even throw ice water on them 😂
Thank you Sandi for bringing pure joy to my husband and me.
I love the gentle manner in how you pick those new born babies up.
I cry with your stillborn babies.
I'm so sorry, Sandy... this has been a tough lambing. Sending soft hugs and empathetic thoughts for you during this tough time. Sending ❤ for Jess too.
Me too Sandi ❤
I have seen all of your videos but I don’t recall anything about Jess. Have you said what is going on or just that she’s having health problems?
@@lisalarouge6309 She's letting her daughter take the led in how much to share and Jess (who has her own channel) has chosen not to be specific. At least that's my current understanding.
I love how her puppy bounces around effortlessly behind the camera. Like a watchful familiar or foreman.
Love how Tomatoes is all bouncy-bounce, “come play with me”. Such a cutie.
Boy, big momma sure like to get in places she’s NOT suppose to be in! So cute!
It looks like the Golden Girls are living their best life. Prayers to you, Sandi, for the strength to get through all this.
I totally saw what you saw today.
She's a sheep puppy. 😆
I've been thinking that since the day she arrived at Sandi's farm!
I was thinking the same thing about Tomatoes! And I think she's having an influence on the others! 😅
I think Tomatoes did put Big Momma in the hay ring and then did her Lassie's " Timmy is in the well" routine for Sandi. So very cute and sassy.
I love how the bottle babies get sweaters!
I’m holding my breath and praying a lot for a good outcome for Jess. The adorable antics of these lambs help me through bad times. I know you guys know we are all pulling for you.
What is going on with Jess is she okay?
Oh, she kissed you for helping her…😊
"I am heated!" = aggressively and safely drawing a BIG X. you rock, Sandi
Big Momma looked so funny! She looked like she was in jail and needed "bale" money!! 😂
On a more serious note, I am so sorry this is such a hard lambing season for you Sandi, with all the health issues in the family and the ewes. Please know you are so much stronger than you know. It's a bad season but not a bad life. BIG warm hugs!🤗
Lol.. "bale money"😄
At last!!! I’ve been missing the Golden Girls and I’m so happy to see them again! ❤ I’m also excited about seeing Sandi’s numbers this lambing. She’s got a lot a bottle babies and there’s lots of ewes having multiples. It’s going to be interesting!
Me too. Me too!
Sorry, but what are the golden girls? Are they the lambs that look golden yellow or is that something that wears off?
@@recoveringsoul7554 or 5 retired ewes living outside on Sandi's farm
I was thinking the same today!
Your new arrangement in the barn looks not only better for the sheep, but you as well Sandy.
You got this Sandi!! Any updates on Marks wrist? Planting is coming soon so hoping its fixed before that starts.
The very end was the CUTEST thing I have ever seen 😍 they were sleeping like a happy cute family. Much 💜
Sandi I just want to thank you and your husband and your children and Carissa for bringing me so much joy.
@@margelittleboy both of you
Is it just me? At first I hated it but I love hearing that squeaky door opening every morning. Never knowing what's happening on the other side but knowing Sandy would entertain us with her wonderful self.
It is so sad watching your emotional challenged this lambing and Jess's health weighing on you! By giving us your true self you are a blessing to so many women, parents .... we can let the mask drop and sometimes just show our fears, pain and sadness!!!!❤
Sandi, please know we are all rooting for Jess, Mark, your sheep and lambs, and especially YOU! Prayers for you and everyone this Holy Week.❤
So many ups and downs in this lambing business! It's got to be hard on you, Sandi , but we're here to share it with you. Take a deep breath and imagine all the hugs coming your way from all your viewers. Thank you, Sandi for creating such an amazing opportunity for us to share with you!
My son has a tee shirt that says, "Funny how when I walk into the room, computers start to work." Mark should have a similar tee.
Tomatoes has such a zest for life. She's good for my heart and big mama in the hay thing made me laugh. This has been such a rough lambing I'm glad your golden girls are there for you, and us. 😊
Oh, honey, you are doing a great job. I am lost in admiration of your strength and compassion for your flick...especially when life is throwing you so many curve balls. Thank you for sharing yourself with us all! ❤
Who knew Big Mama wanted a jungle gym?? 💕💕
😂😂😂😂
I think Tomatoes pulled an April Fools joke on her! 😂😂
@@queenbee3647 I think you might be right. Can't imagine Big Mama jumping in there but I bet if Sandi turned it over Big Mama would have fun squeezing in and out of there. She always liked sqeezing into the lamb pen. 🤣😂🤣
Tee hee! Is that what Big Momma was trying to say? Hee hee hee!! And, she looked so stoic and innocent while the others stood quietly AWAY a little distance..... 😂
Hilarious!! Love how they're so innocently posing, Tomatoes Had to have done it, she was first to come tell you HELP!?! ;-p
So funny, how All of the other Golden Girls circled round, watching how you "fix it."

The golden girls look amazing. 💗Remembeing back when they were afraid of the grass and now look at them living their best lives. =)

There are so many that get great joy from walking alongside you as you sheep farm. There is so much content in your video's, much is openly visible, and some is visible to a farmers eye, all content is great. Thank You so much lady, please take care. 🙏🤗💕😁
Thanks for letting us be part of your life even when you have an overload going on. Love you & the lambs💗 Hope Jess gets good news at her appointments!
Hi, I don't want to be insensitive by asking but what are her daughter's appointments for?
@@laneyperez They haven't said, she has been having health problems. Surgery a couple of times. Like all mom's it's hitting Sandi hard.
The “Sorry bout your mom….BYEEEE!” was way too funny to me 😂 I’m sad that the momma is being a jerk, but I’m glad they’ve got a great momma like you to take care of them ❤
Oh how wonderful to see the golden girls today. I hope the lambs across the street are ok too. i miss the little sixtruiplite.
Thank you so kindly!🐑 🐑
Sandi, you are a super strong, woman, and you know the best for your sheep. No matter the outcome, you will get through these difficult losses, which you could have never predicted.
And, when this lambing session is done, you can sit back and you will learn what caused these issues.
But for right now, you have mommies who need your assistance and so many baby bottle lambs that need you too.
Many of us are praying for you too.🙏🏻♥️
The Tundra Sean’s calls are beautiful.

Your videos are amazing. I'm disabled, with terminal heart failure. I watch your videos and I am addicted! Please keep them coming! Thank you for your inspiration. God bless you and your beautiful family
I am so sorry you are walking such a hard road. All my best wishes to you.
My mum had that about 30yrs ago,. She recovered really well even her taste buds on the paralysed side came back. Just be brave and confident in yourself still! It's temporary 💞
I absolutely hurt when they’re stillborn. My heart just aches for those little lambs that didn’t make it. I’m so sorry.
I love how the mamas look up at Sandi when she walks up in the morning like "look what I did!?"
Congratulations on your new boys. Baby lambs are precious romping. All huddled together to stay warm.🐑🐑💕
I love when I get to start my morning with such adorable babies and the amazing Sandi! It just makes me day. ❤️🐑❤️
It looked like the golden girls had sent big mama to jail.
Watched Cammie live yesterday and he was singing your praises Sandi.
Sandi, thank you for sharing these parts of your life with us even though you're dealing with so much right now. We all love seeing these beautiful, sweet lambs and sheep. Loved seeing sassy Big Mama looking at you like, "It's about time you're here, Madam. Please, let me out." Sending positive thoughts and prayers to you and your family. 🫂
The Golden Girls look almost rejuvenated, galloping along. Glad to see they're doing well. And you'll get the stills and the blowouts under control. Remember every time you learn more.❤❤
It’s like all the other golden girls were so excited to see you & were telling you about big mama being stuck! So cute!
I think it so funny how all your golden girls follow you around. I must also tell you that I am so glad you don't use click bait for your captions. Your just real, honest, sometimes brutal but you show us the truth in farming. Thank you for that!

Sandi-warm hug to you from this Wisconsin mama. It must seem like life is beating you up from every side right now. Physically in the barn with so many lambs, but emotionally and mentally with Jess. You are beautiful in every sense of the word. Stay strong. 😘
Sorry you have had such a trying lambing this time. I have never seen a blow out on any animal. And it's sad that one of your favorites had one. But you have some nice new rams. And some of your twins are beautiful. The multiple ones are so much smaller. Will be interested to see how big they get come market time. Hang in there. You and your family are loved by many of us. And we are praying for you.

I saw the heart too Donna! Hoping it’s the sign of good things to come after a rough lambing season for sure ❤
As my grandpa would say, “DADNABBIT!!!” By gosh this has been a challenging go around! You should start an “Adopt an Orphan Lamb” program!!! If I lived anywhere near you I would absolutely come and feed these babies!! Better yet… maybe an “Adopt an Orphan Lamb” for $10 program! Maybe that could at least maybe offset some of the cost of feeding these babies when mama is a dud. Love you, Sandi! YOU are the reason so many of us smile when we see your video notification! 🥰🫶🏽🇺🇸 Love from Missouri

Hi Sandi,
The exhaustion level and loss of lambs is hard to watch.
Knowing that Jess is having a rough time is also hard.
I know all she wants to do is feel good and do well in school!
I'm trying to send all of my positive thoughts your way for all of your endeavors.
