I love this bag. Can be used as a handlebar pack, framepack, “bum bag”, or crossbody bag (when you get off the bike). Waterproof (except for zippers). Perfect for day ride nutrition and extras (air Pump, spares, phone, charger). Also great for bike packing ( if you don’t want a large framepack but want the equivalent size of a slightly larger top tube pack). I’ve taken it on road, mountain and urban rides. Very versatile. Fits well in many geometries. Would recommend. Thanks for the video!
noticed the new version is back on the website now in late October, looks like Rapha have redesigned the buckles that attach it to the bar with locking straps that won't slide and loosen like the version you reviewed.
thanks for this, i've been looking around for any review of this bar bag.. the product details on the web was all wrong, such as the previously stated 10l volume (they've revised it now) and lack of inside pocket layout photos.. one thing though, is the bag waterproof and can you put a cycling jacket inside ?
HI Chris- I have now rode in the rain, and can confirm it is waterproof. However- be warned- as mentioned up above, the bag is now nearly unusable, as the straps holding it on to the bars comes loose as you ride, meaning you have to do them up every couple minutes. Really very very poor- and I would say avoid this at all costs!!
@@spaddon Thanks for the heads up.. i have place an order for the bag and will have to look for the quality myself unfortunately (?) .. such a shame rapha came out short with the bag though, been satisfied with their top tube bag before
Hi! No- nothing that I have found. All these later and the bag is still going strong- the zip getting stiffer, and the finish to the bag is scruffier, but no marks to the bike. Hope this helps!
Did you end you keeping this bag? I just took a chance and ordered it with some Explore shoes. Hope it isn’t a huge let down. There’s no review’s viewable from the official site, and the faq is kind of concerning.
I have kept it, but a couple rides after making this film, the straps have started to come loose when I ride, leaving the bag dangling, and I have to tighten them literally every couple a minutes (I am going to knock a bodge up with a toe strap over the top). It's a real shame- its a well made bag, but frankly, it just does not cut it- and if I rated it now, I would give it 1 star out of 5. Thanks for watching though!
#STILL I found some nice rolls of Velcro straps at work. I looped them next to the buckles. So much more secure now with no slipping. Rapha has since discontinued this bag and removed it from their website. It’s a collectors item now.
@@sugarpill6006 I saw it had gone! I was hoping for some vecro through the post instead of a recall, but never mind. Great idea about the vecro- I am currently using a toe strap, which is very retro- but looks a bit pants.
this versions was recalled due to the straps looseniung whilst riding. Make sure you get the one with the new buckles, they have been revised.

Hi thanks for another great in depth review can I send you products to review?
Ian Moon absolutely! Happy to consider anything! I am also happy to review money- particularly notes. 🤣
The bag in this video, how is it different to the newer bar bag? Looks similar to the newer version..
It is, but the newer one is more rounded. I am not sure about the clips and if there are better- the ones on this bag really let it down.
@@spaddon Ok - I've ordered both the Rapha Bar bag and the Rapha Explorer bar bag..
Have you noticed buckles rubbing on your carbon handlebars on road bike, or they dont leave marks or scratches?

@@spaddon Thanks!
Can a switch fit in these?
Yes, I would have said so!
Very comprehensive,thanks.
