Great to hear this alternate take, as I have only the one on the referenced "Chronological Classics" volume. Both constitute a very promising start for a terrific band and its talented and charismatic leader.

This band had come to NY from St.Louis and the midwest in 1925 and played at the Cotton Club for awhile. They made recorded in 1925 as the Cotton Club Orchestra. They recorded 8 tunes in 1929 and 4 in Feb, 1930 as the Missourians. They were a very strong band. All those tunes were instrumentals. Only 1 of the 11 tunes they recorded in 1930 as the Cab Calloway Orch was an instrumental.

I have this Record, with "St Louis Blues" on the flip! Mine is the usual take not this take, But listed as "Cab Calloway`s Orchestra! NOT The Jungle Band, and mine looks like a much later issue, Somewhere around 1936! It`s laminated like a Columbia!
