Funny thing years ago I found some bleach spots on one of my favorite tops so instead of getting bummed I took a q-tip with some bleach and made them into flowers then carried it over much of the top. I wore that top until it was thread bare. I think if you’re going to spray sprinkles over the shirts it would be nice to also carry the design over it so it looks intentionally unintentional:) for example maybe put a flower on the front pocket of a shirt you put a flower stencil on the back of or carry some parts of the stencil over part of the shoulder or down the arm then someone isn’t seeing bleach splotches in the front that maybe never sees the beautiful print on the back. Just some thoughts to your fun project.
I have been around long enough to see the bleach trend come & go several times, however, I have to say this particular method of application is brilliant! LOVE it!! Hmm....... I see a crafting afternoon with my grandchildren coming up (they are teens!!) thank you so much for sharing!!
A little hint I did.. I put some blue iris in a spray bottle and spristed my tanks after.. it turned out cool ,my grand daughter & daughters loved them... Thank you for sharing. I love new ideas..
These look cool! I like them without the distressing too. I’m wondering about the way bleach eats through fabric. Won’t there be holes after a few washings? Or did you neutralize the bleach somehow?
Liked the video I use Hydrogen peroxide to stop the bleach that’s the only thing that will stop it I did several shirts that I can figure out why they kept getting lighter and lighter and that was a reason, found out that hydrogen peroxide interacts with the bleach and stop it. I put bottle of how peroxide and a gallon of cold water and dump the shirt. I did one shirt and didn’t know how to stop the bleach at that time and it ate a hole in the shirt.
Ohmygoodness back in the 70s in Girl Scouts we did something very similar to one of our dad's work shirts and we wore them to a huge swap meet. We thought we were so groovy! We used bleach, qtips, and rubber bands for a tie dye effect. Back then we had to save the rubber bands off the newspaper. So fun! Y'all did a great job!!!
My 2 cents: do some w paint rather than bleach (I know, it's the trend) and raise back stencil a bit higher. Your logo would look great on these as well! Ps. Rinse the bleach from the bottles after use--or it's one time use.
Right,Jayne? I'm thinking the 60s..I love it! I'm picturing a flower stencil on flares lol!🌸 Or a Jean jacket.. it's just darling. (Wish I was young enough to pull it off!)
@@carolynlunel9382 ME TOO !!! I use to paint on my bell bottoms with fabric paint ! Yes…that Jean Jacket I love what they did ! 💞💞💞. In this case I would love to go back in time… but all the rest of the stuff…working, children, etc…NOPE, I think I like were I am now… even if I do hurt all over …LOL!!
Dang it! Now you gave me a new craft to do. You could try mixing the bleach with baking soda and dab it on with a stencil brush. That might give you more control of the bleach.
I was about to order some bleached shirts with Granna on them (my grammaw name) I am SO TOTALLY gonna do them myself now!! Thanks Jami & Zeb!!!! 💕. Somehow you always seem to be right on time with the new ideas!! I love y’all! 😘😘😘😍
Stamps can also be used with bleach. Use baby wipes or paper towel to make bleach "ink" pad in a shallow dish or cool whip container top. Comes you really cool on dark fabric or cardstock!

Love this!
@@JamiRayVintage .
You can spray hairspray on the back of the stencil to help the stencil stay in place and not bleed on the stencil design
I love watching an experiment! How cool was that!
WOW!!😍😍 JUST WOW!!
THE JEAN JACKET AND ZEBS SHIRT!! YOU 2 HAVE DONE IT AGAIN 🥰😍🥰

I always am amazed at how u guys just jump in and try things - in front of hundreds of people no less - ur so inspiring. Thanks so much for sharing ☺
These are so fun! And Zeb makes a great model. He’s such a good sport.
Thanks for trying something new and working out the kinks for us!
I have a couple shirts with stains - I think this would be a great way to camouflage the stains!
Guess what my daughter and I are doing this weekend? Great idea and another great excuse to visit a thrift store.
Your ingenuity is amazing. So simple yet so effective. Really like these.

Blue iris?

Great idea y'all. First time I have seen bleach and stencils used on clothes.
Use spray quilt basting spray on the stencil to hold it in place and use a spray mister for a controlled Mist. Works beautifully.
This will be GOLD with my custom stencil I got from etsy seller! Whoooo!
You two are amazing as always and thank you for giving us ways to extend the use of our tools!
I have been wanting to try this!!! Now when my daughter in law do it we'll know what we're doing thanks to you two!!! Great video!! ❤
Love these! So much fun and really quick
So fast and inexpensive!
what a fun way to update old flannels.
This is so cool! I’m going to have to try it, I love all of them, but the sweat shirt is my favorite 😍
What a great idea guys!!!! Those look so amazing 🤩
These look cool! I like them without the distressing too. I’m wondering about the way bleach eats through fabric. Won’t there be holes after a few washings? Or did you neutralize the bleach somehow?
We washed them right away with an extra rinse and got all the bleach out
You can soak them in peroxide before you wash them. It will neutralize the bleach.
Guys!!! where was I when you did this? I'm so excited to try this technique - Love it all!!!
Be sure to neutralize the bleach. 1 part peroxide to ten parts water. Once it looks the way you want neutralize it
Yes!! Those turned out SOOOO CUTE! I can't wait to try it!!
Enjoyed this project.
What a fun project. I admire the fact that you are not afraid to try new things.😄
You guys will try anything! And make it look good! Blessed and safe days!
Appreciate you guys showing the process to kinda see the bad a good and what might work..
Is that straight bleach or mixed with water??
Watered down 50/50 is how we do it now. I can’t remember in this video
I love them!!!! What a great idea with the stencils! Doing this 🤗

Hello from Italy. The Bleach stenciled shirts are great!!! I am wondering if any type of dye can be added to the Bleach to stencil White shirts?

Fantastic. I’ve done tie dye flannel but never thought of using stencils. Look out thrift stores here I come:). Thank you!!!

Sooo cool guys! And a fast result! Gotta love that! 😁😍
Very smart and very creative doing it. Thank You for sharing
This is a cool idea. I've done fabric paint and stencils but not the bleach.Thanking for showing this I really like the fade look!
Hey that turned out 😎 🆒️ good idea
This is so so cool and I haven’t watched the entire thing!
Good job Zeb they look awesome!!!!!!!!
Wow I absolutely love love loved this diy! Thanks guy’s. My brain is swirling with all kind’s of ideas. Thank you so much for sharing this video.
I did this last fall with JRV stencils and pedaled them to my friends!!! Way fun!!!
Awesome!
Really cool technique, love how they turned out
Those turned it so fun! Love this idea 😍
Like them without the added distressing better. Cool idea 🎨
These shirts are cool!
Is that strength bleach or deputed with water?
You guys just took me back to the early 70’s with these ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
Looks fun !! Full strength bleach ?
Full strength

Zeb said, I am gonna make about 20 shirts right now! Lol. I felt it! It was fun and he was gonna go hard!
Haha. I can see it coming.

That turned out amazing!!!
These are so cute!! We’re going to try some!
I am so excited to se this!
I’ve done this before, it’s fun. I loved the results.
Is the bleach full strength?
Love the way they turned out!
What if you used bleach gel and a brush. Toilet bowl bleach gel?
I think it wouldn’t be good for the brush
How to you make the bleach concoction?
Love this!!! Have always wanted to try and am inspired thx!! Great job!
The sweatshirt is my favorite
I am sooooo doing this! How fun.
These are soooooo cool guys!!!
You guys are sooooooooo AWESOME 😎
What about using stamps and thickened bleach like toilet bowl cleaner?
I worry that might eat up the stamps. But maybe I will try it with some of my older ones
So cool...I want to stencil that jean jacket again with some watered down paint...maybe pink, white, blues, silver? to give it more definition.
We almost did some paint over it so I think that would be great
try using a adhesive on the stencil to hold i down
Stamps can also be used with bleach. Use baby wipes or paper towel to make bleach "ink" pad in a shallow dish or cool whip container top. Comes you really cool on dark fabric or cardstock!
On nice!
That’s so cool!!
Love the flannels!
These are so cool 🤗💕
That was a fun video!!! Great idea….
Love this idea!!!!!! Thank you!!!
Could you use a bleached soaked rag to sponge on top of the stencil for better control and saturation?
Maybe, when I was using the damp paper towel that I sprayed first it wasn’t absorbing into the fabric as much. Some people use bleach pens
cool idea!!!
How much fun!
What is the bleach ratio?is it pure bleach or bleach and water?
Why didn't you cover your hands, eyes, mouths so as not to risk injury?
I am definitely gonna try this.
Do you need seal it?
No. But you should neutralize the bleach with vinegar. We didn’t but we washed them and did an extra rinse right away
@@JamiRayVintage thank you
Is it pure bleach or did you dilute it ?
Straight bleach but you could dilute it
What was the bleach/water mixture you used?
Just bleach. We washed them right after with a double rinse
Fun! Great idea!
What about fabric paint for more colors 🤔
That would be so fun. Maybe spray tie dye
I was thinking paint too...just because when I get paint on my clothes unintentionally that paint never comes out lol
does vinegar stop the bleaching?
Yes. We washed them after though.
Cool technique 😊 I like it best without the splatter all over the shirts. TFS
Love these!
Great idea!!
