  • In California, the winter had an effect that differed from the previous ones. With the drought then the magnitude of rain, reservoirs filled and the balance of water has mostly run out into the ocean. Learn more about this during a truck chat between Eric Bream of Bream Family Farms and Bill Harrison of Harrison Co.

Common Ground is a movie about what regenerative framers are doing to create ground water storage capacity in the soils beneath their feet.
Practicing Regenerative Agriculture allows farmer to "sign the backs of checks" while reducing their input costs and raising the quality of the food grown on their operations.
Regenerative Agriculture is a conservative farm profit producing movement.

One difference between water issuyin California and the rest of the country is thar California is typically arid and most of the rivers flow eventually into the ocean. The rivers originally had populations of salmon and steelhead which migrated from ocean up rivers ehere, bover the years afded greatly to flora growth. The migrating fish wete/coulybe the nasis of California's biome. Dam rivers and divert wayer into crops and androgynous fish cant reproduce or carry their natural wealth inland. Dams kill fish migrations, which denies thhir nutrients journey from ocean to mountain water courses.
Of course we need irrigation for agriculture. But we should consider the consequences and plan so as to maximize efficiency and reduce easoand allow what ee can to flow to yhe sea, ehich benefits greatly grom the unput of nutrients.advwell as estuaries whoch ate the rookeries of life, both land, air and sea.
