Rick Stanton and John Volathen of The British Cave Rescue Council initially found it too difficult and dangerous to penetrate into the cave and were about to give up when two other divers were called in, Ben Reymenants of Belgium and Maksym Polejaka of Ukraine.
Ben and 'Max' did ALL the ground work in way of exploring the right side of the T junction and laying of guide ropes through the most difficult sections- making the rescue possible and yet are barely mentioned in most articles and documentaries. Ben was the first to say the kids would need to be brought out in full face masks and was ridiculed and shunted off to manage the O2 tank replenishment station.
However both were recognized by The Thai Royal Navy and His Majesty The King to receive medal commendations.

What you keep failing to mention in your attempts to discredit Rick and John is that the man you worship (aka Ben) threw a massive tantrum and left the cave three days before the boys were rescued. The fact that he broke his watch and swam up the wrong part of the cave his proof of how much of a risk taker he actually is. He never got anywhere near those boys and never did. It was Rick, John, Chris, Jason, Craig and Harry who all took the biggest risk to get those boys out. It was also the Thai navy divers who were credited as well as the coach for keeping the boys calm and looked after knowing that they themselves weren't allowed out until the boys were all out. It was the other Thai navy seals that laid the first part of the line and then continued to swim backwards and forwards to deliver oxygen tanks in environments that they had never ever trained for. It was the European divers who all participated in the rescue at various points along the way that ensured smooth hand over. All the people that worked on the surface to make sure that all of the operation went smoothly including the ones that pumped the water out of the cave and plugged holes in streams. All of those people and what they did you have just crushed in your rush to hero worship at the alter of Ben so let me ask you this. What if anything did you do to help these kids. Have you ever put yourself on the line to save someone else or is your sole purpose in life to destroy the reputations of two people you have never meet and don't know who didn't even need to be there but choose to put their lives at risk in ways that you clearly never have. Do the world a favour and go out and get a life
You do realise that Ben has tried to claim credit for the entire operation. He even claims he was one of the divers to find the boys. I found the article so don’t try and say he isn’t another person in search of his 15 minutes
