I experienced the same thing. Played with it for a week, sat down and recorded 19 minutes of guitar bliss. You can use this as an exploration/meditation 19 minutes of ecstasy. Start a theme, follow it, discover another, follow it, here another, follow it, and thing start to weave them all together.

Don't try to recreate because you'll never have that particular 'moment' again. Just keep playing moving forward and appreciate all of those new 'moments' you created!

This is where I come after I've done my 45 minutes of scales, arpeggios, sweep picking, pentatonic, mode shapes, and CAGED practice. I come here and I get the rewards of practicing all of that so much that I forget every bit of it and just play. My fingers have walked those paths so many times that I don't need to tell them where to go, they just go with feeling.
Thank you for this wonderful repite!

Wife and kids are in bed at 1am on a Friday night. A few beers deep, studio headphones into the amp, and 2 hours of pouring all the problems of the world into the neck of my guitar. Truly amazing. Walked out of the guitar room like the weight of the world was lifted from my shoulders. Thank you

I can relate to that! A few glasses of wine and I'm feeling fine. This is definitely a fantastic track to get the weight

Tripped on acid with a friend and him and I jammed together with this playing. We both sang and did some crazy shit on the guitar. We had a good flow with our guitars. I was pulling some mellow Gilmore style licks on the electric while my friend was strumming away on the acoustic. Him and I had some great chemistry in the creation of our music then I started singing some shit and then we start humming and melodizing together. If only I recorded it cause it was the most magical experience of my life.

  • @braindamage_eclipse

This keyboardist just had some kind of brain awakening about the patterns that exist for this key up around the 5th and 7th frets on the low and mid strings. I swear I channeled Gilmour a bit here, and had further epiphany about what is going on with lead guitars and the number of strings actually in play at any given time. Keeping more strings muted than fingered, and letting the tone fill in some subtle harmonics. Holy crap.
    Anyway, here's wonder wall...

Not a bad note to be had! it's easy to play flawless Gilmour licks and runs over this track. Too much freaking fun!! Most fun I've had on my guitar in a while! Thanks for the track!!

Your not hitting any bunk notes because there’s no C or C# in E pentatonic minor. Although your not getting every tasty note playing over E pentatonic minor scale unless, you add a C note for the Cmaj7 and also add a C# note for the A7..definitely play with chords on track ,Emin, Bmin, Emin, Bmin, Cmaj7, Bmin, Emin, A7 and E min you can play them all as minor7s except for the A7 I think there’s a D maj chord in this I though it was B minor 7 most likely it’s basic idea for screaming melody C with Cmaj 7 and C# with A7 sound like the song home again ,like to be here when I can, warm my

@@skyeditor1740 The E minor pentatonic scale. This chord progression has 2 chords (Cmaj7 and A7) both have notes that are Not in the Eminor pentatonic scale. When playing along with this background track, you can play E min pentatonic sound in key great. Although by adding C note too the scale (when the C chord is played on the track) adds color note because it’s part of the notes that make up the chord.(not in the scale)The same with the A7 chord by adding C# too your solo when A7 is played in the background. Adds musical color because there is no C# in your Emin pentatonic scale it sounds like guitar player knows a lil more than just his blues scale. C note on fret 20 of high E strings and the C# fret 21. None of this is helpful unless you already play along with the background chords. If guitarist is capable of soloing over this I learning basic background chords is not hard. Even when it is hard getting the idea and knowing how makes playing better when you pick up guitar a daylatter.

My neighbor turned me onto this after he told me about the outdoor festival he performed at. He said used this as a backing track for a solo performance in front of 20,000 people. To make the experience ultimate, most enhanced he wore some hi-tech virtual reality head gear while playing. Supposedly the fans were going wild and screaming. So ecstatic from the music he claimed to feel their electricity enter and shoot thru his body! The fans refused to leave even after his plea to go, so eventually the authorities arrested him on multiple charges.
Sounded awesome until I was reviewing my security video and saw him in my front yard on said night. I clearly saw him looking at his phone and wearing these giant 70s looking headphones as he broke into my tool shed.
He emerged from the shed with my new John Deere all wheel drive lawnmower (side and rear bagger), which despite being 3 in the mornin, tried to start several times but couldn't (the switch has to be in the ON position. Abandoning the mower, he went back in the shed and emerged 30 minutes later with my wife's gardening water bucket over his head and playing my Craftsman industrial sweep broom like it was a guitar .....and he was Gilmore. Eventually the cops showed . Man did they get pissed as he just ignored them ..... focused entirely in the music...
They were yelling and a hollering at him to no avail. Ms Jenkin who lives 2 farms away away said the commotion woke her right up in middle of the night! Mind you, Her farm is past the ol railroad tracks about mile and quarta.
. Anyway, after Elmer's ignoring the police verbal commands they used a taser on him, seven times!!!!.....the lightning bolt like jolts of electric shock did not seem to faze him. In fact, in the video , I could hear him saying, " thank you, thank you thank you. You're so lovely. EVERYONE. THANKS everyone for coming tonite.... you're the best, time to go everyone. Go home! Thank you!" Cops eventually knocked him off his feet, water pail head to the ground, cuffed, and hauled away (as he mumbled , "thank you, goodnite, thank you).
I don't know what he was on, but I had to check this tune out for sure!

This makes me happy and sad. The backing track is beautiful and I can imagine all kinds of melodies that will go well with this. Sad because even after 8 years of playing (I started learning late. In my 30’s now), I still cannot nail a decent solo as I imagine it in my head :(

Keep trying mate. I'm nearly in my 40s and have only been playing for ~3 years and I can hit some decent licks with this. Try checking out some of Gilmour's other solos and "borrowing" some of his licks/tricks. Also, "Signals Music Studio" on UA-cam did a vid on Gilmour tricks that might be worth checking.

Try Andy Guitar Lead Guitar course - it's online and on youtube and 100% worth the £10 ($13) - it's detailed and comprehensive. I'm pretty much the same as you and just couldn't improvise a decent solo so I went for it - I'm about a third of the way through and already can do a basic solo over this - some of the course is free so check it out. I'm not associated with Andy Guitar in anyway - just trying to help a fellow guitarist.

I've played since I was 16. I'm in late forties now and until about 4 years ago was all chords and strumming. Stichmethod, Papastache, Sean Daniel, Guthrie Trapp and David Walliman helped me change all that - arpeggios, chord-tones and (some) scales changed my guitaring beyond recognition, and it gets better and better one small step at a time.

Hi Terry, I just started to play guitar. But why playing a Bm pent over this. Theory is so confusing for me🤔🤔

    • @jonahsanford2930
      @jonahsanford2930 3 роки тому

@@Anthul65 The “E Dorian” scale shares the same exact notes as “B Aeolian”. “B Aeolian” is a minor pentatonic but with just two added notes. everything in a “B minor” pentatonic is in “B aeolian”, just that the Aeolian adds two extra notes. Look up “B minor” pentatonic and a “B aeolian” scale and compare and you’ll see the added notes. And when you play that “E Dorian” scale over this track, you want to focus and resolve mostly on the “E” note of the scale. If you were to play this “B minor” pentatonic, the “E” notes are at: a string - 7th fret, g string - 9th fret, and high e string - 12th fret.
