Although by adding C note too the scale (when the C chord is played on the track) adds color note because it’s part of the notes that make up the chord.(not in the scale)The same with the A7 chord by adding C# too your solo when A7 is played in the background. Keep trying mate. I'm nearly in my 40s and have only been playing for ~3 years and I can hit some decent licks with this. Try checking out some of Gilmour's other solos and "borrowing" some of his licks/tricks. Also, "Signals Music Studio" on UA-cam did a vid on Gilmour tricks that might be worth checking.
Try Andy Guitar Lead Guitar course - it's online and on youtube and 100% worth the £10 ($13) - it's detailed and comprehensive. I'm pretty much the same as you and just couldn't improvise a decent solo so I went for it - I'm about a third of the way through and already can do a basic solo over this - some of the course is free so check it out. I'm not associated with Andy Guitar in anyway - just trying to help a fellow guitarist.
I've played since I was 16. I'm in late forties now and until about 4 years ago was all chords and strumming. Stichmethod, Papastache, Sean Daniel, Guthrie Trapp and David Walliman helped me change all that - arpeggios, chord-tones and (some) scales changed my guitaring beyond recognition, and it gets better and better one small step at a time.
Keep practicing your solos this is the best backing track to solo to. Mix it up, play it backwards, play it forwards, its all about playing what's in your head. So use your ears and let your fingers fly, slow or fast its all up to you and have fun with it...
Thank You BUNCHES I can't believe this you did a back ground like this... I have to keep a kool tool now. that I sound like David G. Thanks to You.... @@Anthul65 The “E Dorian” scale shares the same exact notes as “B Aeolian”. “B Aeolian” is a minor pentatonic but with just two added notes. everything in a “B minor” pentatonic is in “B aeolian”, just that the Aeolian adds two extra notes. Look up “B minor” pentatonic and a “B aeolian” scale and compare and you’ll see the added notes. And when you play that “E Dorian” scale over this track, you want to focus and resolve mostly on the “E” note of the scale. If you were to play this “B minor” pentatonic, the “E” notes are at: a string - 7th fret, g string - 9th fret, and high e string - 12th fret.

Just keep practicing. It will come
Keep practicing your solos this is the best backing track to solo to. Mix it up, play it backwards, play it forwards, its all about playing what's in your head. So use your ears and let your fingers fly, slow or fast its all up to you and have fun with it...
Great video my friend!!🎸🍻🎸🎧🎶

Oh man time just flies when I put this on and play... It's like some sort of meditation for me right now 😂
They really put an ad in the middle of this track?!?! What a solo killer!
that's why I use adblock lol
Thank You BUNCHES I can't believe this you did a back ground like this... I have to keep a kool tool now. that I sound like David G. Thanks to You.... I broke the code of the lead guitar. and sound great after hearing this twice. Fkn A keep up Your great work my friend... this turned me into that flying pig that everyone said would not fly. Thanx Again.
Great backing track, thanks so much.
I am an absolute noob with electric guitar. solos.. But this has given me the urge to practice much much muchhhhh more ❤❤ WOW , thank you so much for this
Opening chord progression is Em, Bm, Em, Bm, Em, Bm, G, B.
After 1 loop, it changes to Em, Bm, Em, Bm, Em, Bm, A7
My soul met my spirit and went for a long walk.
This Track is in E dorian. Try playing Bm Pent over it
Hi Terry, I just started to play guitar. But why playing a Bm pent over this. Theory is so confusing for me🤔🤔
@@Anthul65 The “E Dorian” scale shares the same exact notes as “B Aeolian”.
@@jonahsanford2930 thank you for your answer. I will look this up👍🙏🏻
@@Anthul65 play B minor and b 5-note at the same time and blend the modes. Also go into E Dorian because all the modes are the same fucking Scale these people won't tell u that tho
Mostly bends on this track of y want a gilmour feel, overdrive gain and Reverb will put u over the top If y can play Slow and adjust scales to each chord
Great track. Thank You
Omg almost the best 20 minuets of my life
Thank you kindly x
Dude! This track took my soloing to a whole other level! I channeled my inner Gilmour, and was able to slow down and work on my bends. My fingers are screaming in pain ,but it was worth it! I'm definitely keeping this track in my favorites. Thank you and God Bless!🙏♥️🎸🎼🤘😠🤘✌️🎶
I was totally in onother world jamming to this i had my wah on half cocked and just grooved spacey sounds on my les paul

Great track, i aint been playing lead for very long, but first time iv gave messlf goose pimpals, love it, thanks. Em pentanic work great in all 5 perstion,
This is insane
This is beyond excellent. I just spent 20 minutes of my life improvising to this The difference? I played with my eyes closed, just doing E Dorian with little bits of Pentatonic.
Really well done, thank you!
Very Nice
I have become Pink Floyd ITSELF!! I became the essence!!! My ego died and was reborn an infinite number of times whilst playing this...hooo weeeee! Oh! Shit! My fingers are bleeding...
Playing Bm over this works pretty good for this as well!
I actually think this is Bm, not Em.
@@ARKWalton Seems to ne a loop of Em A Em Bm Em Bm C D
@@ARKWalton yep, definitely B minor/E Dorian
Wow, that's an awesome track to play over. Loving it
