A regular shoelace knot is a square knot, which is really quite different to the cobra (Solomon) knot that you tied, you must have been pretty confused when trying to tie your shoes when you were a wean! Great to hear a (west central?) Scots accent again though and I hope that you have found a simpler way to tie yer laces these days (bet you only wear slip-ons). 🙂
Very nice, clear instructional video - like the idea of using a second ring to make it slide more easily. Have now figured out how to do it in two colours! (Edited because I re-read my comment from a year ago and it sounded a bit abrupt) 👍
I've done this a couple of times. First time, I used cord that wasn't quite "round," and it came out all twisty, like a pig's tail. Got some new cord, perfectly round, and it still came out all twisted. Any hints on what I'm doing wrong? Haha, just started my third, and it's already twisting!
Figured it out. I had to alternate on each complete loop cycle, so one cycle start with right cord, next start with left cord and keep alternating. All straight now.
I made one myself but without the keyring version because I dont have a keyring, the advantage ,its not gonna move when its already tight on your wrist but overtime I dont know whats gonna happen it might wear out from constant adjusting and break after like 1 year maybe..😀
Five years later and your video is still helping folks like me make neat thing! Thank you!
Thank you for watching and commenting! I hope you enjoy the wrist strap you made. ✌️
Well make that six years on and you're still helping folk. I liked the wee Irn Bru cheers at the end. So Cheers back from Falkirk 🏴🥃
@@MrNineCherries cheers pal! I appreciate you watching and I hope you can make a good wrist strap from this. 🏴🍻
I just watched about a dozen of these vids (🤦♂️) Yours seems to be the clearest/easiest to folllow. Great idea to add the diagram btw
VonJhonn Thanks mate! Glad you found it useful. I watched a whole bunch of videos too before I found that diagram on google :)

Just about to attempt this. you said your cord was 16 feet long? Did you cut it to a shorter length before starting?
Great question. That’s a detail I really dropped the ball on. I think I at least cut it in half as I remember making 2 sizes.
Tahnk you for this episode! it's really helpful and safe a lot of money
You’re welcome!

Michael Mitchell hmm. It’s been so long since I made one now I don’t know if I have any solution. Are you doing it a little tight maybe?

How many straps can 100 feet paracord can make?
Jed Teng hmmm... I wasn’t very efficient with my 16ft. I think you could get 10, maybe more if you’re really good 😁

Jed Teng maybe.. at least it’s cheap to make a new one :)
Thank you melekher
