I got a 2 part question for you
Why and how do some mix engineers use limiters as a vocal insert
Why if you could give a few reasons
And how if you could demonstrate
    Thanks you

Working on a video to specifically answer this, should be up in October 🙌🏼

i like the Chris Rock example you gave. such a good point. you cant just stand there and ask for help or wine/complain bout it...start pushing, and when people see the true effort YOU are putting in, they will be more willing to help you..but also, when they start helping..dont STOP pushing and think its time for that person to take over, HELL NAW....what is this trash poor mentality that someone else is supposed to make YOU rich and famous??? i dont get it. i support hard work, consistency, respect, passion, and authenticity. thanks 5Piece, youre awesome bro.

Ayyyy Griff! Glad that resonated with you. It certainly did for me too. Unfortunately lots of folks have broken entitled mentalities but real ones know that doesn’t serve us. I appreciate you watching and wishing you continued success 🚀🚀🚀

    Quick question
how do you know when to give the right amount of Singal when it comes to effects such as Delays and Reverbs
Should the signal be different amounts
Lets say you have your lead vocals
But then you may also have your lead dubs
    Harmonys
    Ad-libs
    And of course hooks
So hows does it work do you give a little more reverb and delay to Harmonys then you would the lead or Ad-libs
    hook or lead dub
Or do some just apply the same amount across all vocals
    What's the more musical approach

Whatever sounds best to your ears- there is no formula. Usually each send level is unique, based on your taste and what you want to get out of it. Sometimes you want Adlibs more effected than leads, sometimes the opposite - all boils down to context and what you like sonically. Hope this helps!

It depends on the context, but different plugins sound better sonically when the input doesnt max the compressor out.. yet has to be high enough not to cause overdrive.. like sometimes putting a limiter on the signal before the effect can help not max the ceiling. Check the effects information, and use the method they reccomend. Other than that, delay, and reverb can get real muddy in your mix. I personally cut the bottom end out (where there is no sound already) or use a plug in that i can set the perameters using only say 4khz to 8khz, only effecting a certian frequency range. Id not effect the super highs, or super lows. My ears usually tell me around 4k on sounds best.. or if doing it on a bass, the high end of the bass.. regular delay, and reverb is best used in normal circumstances 85% delay, 7-10% loudness in the mix, 1/4-1/8th for fast stuff, and 1/4-1/2 for slow stuff. Faster or slower can be pointless, unless you have a one time delay sound effect. In that case, doubling the vocal part, and doubling the track, delaying the word sounds great.
But yeah, depends.. i know what you are asking for though. Hope this helps a little better

Anyone looking for a female singer in Toronto, holla at me. Hear my vocals on my latest song, 'All I See Is You'.
